In order to convert hi-res stages, you'll have to manually extract the images from the stage and resize them.

can you tell me step by step? :-?? :(

open the sff file in fighter factory.

click the sprites-->save all as pcx option.

resize them and make sure they are 8bit(256 colors)

realign them in fighter factory.

and it should be done.

No but its better to have the latest. Also resizing is: Image --> Scale Image.

OR! You can do it in GIMP. Image --> Mode --> Indexed(make it 256 colors).

yeah, thats still the long way, even though just making it indexed color wouldnt change the size  (:|. the program that i posted does everything for you. no competition. thats all i gotta say. pretty self explanatory.

first you will need ifranview installed, sffextract, and sprmaker. (last 2 can be found in addons section of mugenation). Then click on the link in the first post to download the converter. not in english but youll be able to figure it out. This should make converting stages easier for everyone...

Bah I have Linux installed and I don't wanna go into all of that trouble. Besides I don't need more files to sit on my HDD.

I'd rather have control of my files not let a computer do all of the work itself.

yeh i been wondering that myself. but i use Irfanview to edit, resize, and decrease colors n all of that. its probably easier to use than photoshop.
