yeah plus i think it has to be on a modded fat version and not the slim ( but there are ways to do so i believe). i saw it long time ago. but i had a slim with full current updates. Mannn try it if ya want, just dont Brick that sucker! :-SS

I modded mine awhile back. Couldn't get Mugen to work though. *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

Dude you can mod your PSP in 15 minutes, i did it.
-
I tried mugen about a year back on the psp it wasent playable at all. I don't know if it ever got updated or not since then.
-
laspacho, you either did it wrong, or you updated (which you should not do)
On MUGEN PSP:
A. Yes it must be modded. Takes an hour tops.
B. It doesn't run on the newest Custom (Modded) Firmware, you need to run an older version, I believe 5.03 M33 or something like that is what you need. The think you need is the 150 Kernal.
C. It must run through something called Infinity Cat. It is mostly like WinMUGEN, with a few pluses and minuses. There is no MUGEN 1.0 version.
-
ah, so its not mugen, its InfinityCat. Something way different.
-
What is the difference Ilu? I never looked into it. (I use the latest CFW, and don't want to downgrade)
-
i tried this once i have to say mugen on psp isn't worth it like cps3 unless its been updated since i last tried. and also you can mod your psp in a few minutes with a soft mod like i did. i believe its called chickhen. just look up soft modding psp on youtube, that's how i found the tutorial

My favorite thing for PSP fighting games is using the CPS1 and 2 emulators, run at full speed and work perfectly. The only drawbacks:
-Small screen
-Hitting buttons fast/hard make the screen shake (bad for me)
-Hand cramps. My left hand (movement buttons) gets cramped real often.
Still fun though, playing games like Cyberbots, that I never played before.
>:-(-|
Helion is crazy tough on Jin's final boss. Took me 4 or 5 tries, finally did it with Blodia (perfect fit for Jin).
I imagine MUGEN would be a lot like that, and guessing lag. I can't get MK Trilogy to run no matter how hard I try, so I doubt MUGEN will run great.
-
yeah i use cps2 it runs perfect. i play xmen vs sf and mvc1 on it i just remebered i need pocket fighter. if you want fighting games on psp i say just use cps2. mugen won't run good and there isnt any sound
-
I couldn't get cps2 to run. Of course that was when Chickhen was first released, so it's probably different now.

Off-topic:
What about PS Vita? :D We need Vita to be upgraded for Mugen and Openbor just like PSP. I don't know about converting engines to consoles.

Maybe I tried a different mugen I don't think it was infinity cat. I have the original PSP 150 kernal I bought it the day it came out years ago. With the custom firmware. At this point its definitely not the newest custom firmware but it's still enough to run my iso's and emulators. The cps2 and nes emulators are really great. I'll browse around and check out Infinity cat one of these days.
