As some people already know, I'm coding CVG Doom's Bullseye.

He is beeing build over CVG's template with some customizations, and then they will adapt him to Marvel vs MK project.

I'm personally less than impressed with the Iceman base, in general he's too short and there is no innovation with the basic attacks, never-the-less it looks like a really good job on the edits.  :thumbsup:

Thank you guys.

But I have a doubt. Until now, His moves works like this:

- QCF + LP: piercing projectiles
- QCF +MP : Guns
- QCF+ HP: Bombs

The projectiles are random, when you do QCF + LP it will throw a random projectile.
But I would like to make each projectile more unique, kinda like Athur in MVC3, where each projectile has a different attack pattern

My idea is each QCF + a button would throw a projectile, but a different one:

LP - Pistol Shoot, two hits straight
MP - Shuriken, goes downward (hits the feet)
HP - Kunai, goes a bit upward

Lk - Kind of Boomerang weapon*
MK - Granade Goes at a arc movement then lands on the ground. Explods on contact or after some time passed
HK - Machine Gun, hits at the middle (4 hits)

* for this weapon, which would be better?

try off loading the grenade type moves to the commands of D,DB,B + punch and another for F,D,DF+punch, and save the kick commands to a movement type attack, since bullseye uses his hands, all his projectiles should use punch buttons

the essence of this character reminds me of gambit (so check out his commands)

thats hot. I like the idea already. Yeh and i have that stage before the edit. i was hoping someone (if i didnt first) did more to it. haha i put the MVC3 spencer theme to it

I've tried to make each weapon more unique, not just a char with tons of projectile.
I plan to make the projectiles even more unique, with different vels, damage, etc.

Next step is to make the aerial ones and the other type of attacks.

Also planning anything with the fact he has some bones reinforced with admantium . ..a strong punch that dizzies p2.

Lastly is there anyway to make his projectiles seek p2 like sektor...ya know since he never misses

yeah, I plan something with that, but its very hard to not make it cheap. I avoided to make teleguided weapons, but some weapons are very quick and its very hard to dodge.  Bullseye never misses...but nobody said that the enemies can't block :)  But I plan to make one of his weapons to track the p2 distance and hit always.

Better yet how about doing something similar to
Zvitors GL or mystique and have a hyper where you guide the target on screen and make it unblockable if u can keep the bullseye on long enough...a random projectile everytime.

.maybe also one his projectiles can cause health drain a few seconds similar to bleed damage..remenicent of the playing card he threw af elektras neck.

Also how about a few projectiles that are not obvious weapons...yeah sure he can throw a knife at u of course that or a grenade is going to hurt but  objects not so blatant...the stuff hes famous for making ordinary objects deadly weapons.  Eg. Baseballs Pencils paper clips that cause p2 to go into there dizzy animation since most dizzy animations look like choking convulsions. Have us donate or contest for thebest projectiles.

On last Friday, talking in a bar with Navsmed and XFields (so many laughs) and I told them why I stopped with this character for a while.

As far as I know, Bullseye never misses an attack, but for he is a normal character, who may miss his attacks. But I think this is contradictory to the essence of the character...

So I'm stuck in the development of this character because I do not know how to solve this issue.

Any suggestions?

Both ideas are good.

Bullseye is not the kind to throw a lot anyways, he just need to throw once.

But since Bullseye is a Master Marksman, he could use a lot of different weapons, leaving room for some other ideas that could help, like a boomerang or a weapon that bounces off the wall or sumthin.

Well, you really have to look at the broad spectrum of characters, how many actually translate to each other's true ability in a fighting game. I mean comic-realistically, who outside of some really powerful people can beat Hulk, Sentry, Superman, Gladiator, etc?

That didn't stop anyone from making said characters, what you outta focus on is the style of the character that will make him different then the others. I'd hate to say it, but Phoenix Wright in U:MvC3 is a good example of that.

I got your point and I understand it.

This happens because (this is not an attack to anyone) I don't like to make a character just ...to make it, because its comic realated, nobody did it yet and such things. I see many really bad characters praised by some users just becase "nobody did it" or because its simple comic related.

I want to make something good, something that will help people (as some told be) to still think "if this char was done by *insert creator name*, it should be good". Not to praise me, but to make people enjoy and, most important, to ME to enjoy :)

This is why I requested the help. In other words: I want to make it to you guys as best as I can.

I know, as Alexziq told me: DD Spidey, Batman, and Wolvie have all blocked his throws.
But they all have superb reflexes.

I think it is just a way to char look more like the source because thinking like you Hulk can't be defeated by noone.

Sorry to pester the subject, but I don't see 'comic realism' as something quite always done. For example, if Cyclops tried blocking Wolverine's claws or Silver Samurai's blade with his bare hands like he does in game, he'd have a pretty tough time holding together.

But I know you can make it work and play great any way you choose to make it, so I'm not too worried about it.

i suggest an "unmissable projectile" that can ricochet off ceilings, walls, and floor randomly until it hits P2, for a hyper move, that will show how he never misses, and that it was strategic, i mean it has to be really,really  fast too or it will not pull off, plus you have to have a pause on screen, when it lands too,
another idea is to have him throw multiple projectiles, whilst moving, but have them hit all into the same spot, e.g. 3-4 daggers thrown whilst he jumps backwards like rolento, but hit in a targeted spot, p2 might not be there but it has to be quick in motion, and hard to command, the harder the command, the more likely you perform a projectile throw, cheers hope that helps

Looking a lot better. Remember when I first saw him I was afraid he'd just be an Iceman clone. Seems like he's really stepping away from that and becoming a character all his own. Looking forward to more updates on him.

Btw, he should have one intro only..where he kills Elektra. Once he does that, she falls and lays there in the background the whole match. Only one win pose, also. Goes over and stabs Elektra's corpse.

Its different moves. The FPS hyper is a SICK idea from Doom. The other one is a sick idea of mine.
Both were never made into mugen (well, the second one was made bt a retired friend of mine, in the dino ages of mugen, lol)

i don't know if you know how to rip sprites from mame/emulators but there is some sprites from the original ninja gaiden that has ryu throwing ninja stars in first person for a bonus stage (damn I'm showing my age) if you are interested, I don't know how to rip sprites but I can send you the rom.  It might be nice to very your first person shooter hyper with ninja stars.  You can have the gun and the stars.

My God!  This WIP is turning out fantastic!!!  I think the gun hyper portrait should be improved (were probably going to do that anyway) but everything else is phenomenal!!!

It'll be hard, though, matching this guy up against what mugen currently has for a daredevil...
