Its a great idea, ide love to play with a gutsman that does more then just throw rocks all the time...

I would suggest working on the head, it doesnt quite fit with the rest of his body... perhaps if you tryed making hulk's jaw more jagged and round at the top it would help...

Good luck

Cool. Needs some work though. You should try to sprite a custom head cause the current head just isn't working out, plus it looks like his neck is too long.
Title: Re: Gutsman MVC
Post by: Magma MK-II on September 24, 2007, 12:16:24 PM
First, Gutsman don't have a neck, so you may fuse his head with the chest.
Second, instead of just tossing rocks and boulders, he could use grappling moves, taking advantage of his enormous body, like Zangief and Griffon.
Plus, you could get some ideas from the Gutsman that Scar posted for poses.
Good Luck!

....now, it will work in the details that I need and will add the advances of gutsman soon....

its a pretty ok edit but to make a personal opinion. I would not use him for gutsman. gutsman doesnt have muscles and isnt made to look human by any stretch og the animation. Why not use colloseus? That would be in my personal thought a good base if your doing an edit

Good point.

mastersatoshyx , play around with a couple of bases before you actually start the heavy editing.

Agreed. That Hulk edit looks decent, but I'm not sure that's the best base for this character. Juggernaut might be another good one to experiment with as a base for Gutsman.

realistically you coem into the same problem as the hulk by using juggy. you want a base that is easy to use but not something that is muscled or humanlike in stance. if not collosus I might explore tyring o use robocop and scale him up

I think Juggernaut is a best option for edit, because he is big and doesn't have a neck(he actually have a neck, but his muscles overgrow it, making it look like he don't have), and his stance and size matchs Gutsman better.

After you solved this problem, we could think about his moves!

I'm a big fan of someone working on Gutsman in MVC style but I don't think he is that much bigger then Megaman to use Juggernaut as a base though...  Here is the site to get sprites for him.  Good luck editing to make him, maybe it will be a good base for you and your imagination.   :)
There used to be a Gutsman pic with a edited sprite in it that was in the old Cutman wip form that Mambojambo made.

As I remember from the very first Megaman game, Gutsman is about double the size of Megaman, but in the Power Battle/Power Fighters, he looks smaller.

Nice start.  Shiny spots = bad.  it will always mess up your pal when you want to change it.  For shading tips look at my megaman sprite.  Check where your light source comes from.  and try to keep your shading rounded.  theres too many straight lines in your shading where there shouldnt be.  Nice to see someone doing a megaman character without megaman as a base.

you're all wrong... %-(

1. if you use juggernaut's sprite... juggy's head is too big [-X
2.gutsman got small head right? :-@

3. so if juggy's the base i think you have to make the head big too because his going to be so damn looking robot :-??
Title: Re: Gutsman MVC
Post by: gaara6666 on September 26, 2007, 03:38:13 PM
that is why i would suggest potempkin that way his head is smal and not alot to do with reshapig things
Title: Re: Gutsman MVC
Post by: Darqueness on September 27, 2007, 01:22:56 AM
Potemkin and Juggy are both way too huge to be a base for Gutsman, that is if you intend for Gutsman to be his "actual" size in comparison to say MVC Megaman/Protoman/Cutman.. In actuality Gustman is indeed taller and wider than them, but Megamans Head should be roughly on par with Gutsmans chest, not the mid part of his ribs (hence makin Juggy way too big and wide in comparison). Colossus would be closer to the right size (perhaps even Venom) but definitely not Juggy and not really Hulk (also too big and wide). Pretty much the majority of the "normal" sized capcom characters are still taller than Megaman and Proto and such, Guts doesnt have to be super huge, simply bigger than Mega and Proto.

inches cabrones, if your too picky on how he will end up do one yourself. if he likes the way it is let it be. i would like to see at least one sprite made by yourself on how you would like him to be like before complaining \-/o <_<|...|

ok heres a very quick edit of megaman's legs and gutsmans sprite from power battles. thats pretty much the simplest and best way to create a mvc gutsman. simple resizing and recoloring. gutsman looks great in powerbattles o just resize him and remove all that shiny spots on the armor.

You should give him a hyper where he rushes at you, tossed you up, and then when you're coming down he punches you right in the gut and slams you down. I think it'd fit him.

En español: Debes darte un hiperactivo donde él acomete en ti, sacudido te para arriba, y entonces cuando estás viniendo abajo él te perforas derecho en la tripa y te cierra de golpe abajo. Pienso que el it'd lo cupo.

Some pics to compare his size and Megaman's size:

There are two attcaks that Gutsman must have: the traditional rock throw, and one where he does alittle jump, then pound the ground to meka an earthquake to stun the enemy. These are the two original attacks from the first Megaman.

See, that there I think would be perfect height for Gutsman. And since in his normal stance he'd probably be leaning more forward so it would line up perfectly.

Heh, that's funny, saw this as I was about to post the one I edited from manic's work also. :) Check it, only slightly differetn in the waist/lower torso area I think..

He's trying to show this:
(http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6928/gmvcty4.gif) (http://imageshack.us)

About the sprite, it's not bad, but still pixel-ish in some areas.
Also, to show the sprite on the forums Satoshyx, put the one with the [URL] in the capitals.
(Otherwise, it says for forums.)

Nice intro. I like how he changes into the 90's cartoon version, the Captain N one, and the Rockman Megamix version. :w00t:

With the attacks, some of the boots change size, but they're really nice edits of Hulk parts. Nice seeing him come this far into spriting.

I must say that Guts Man's shaping up nicely!

However, you may want to tweak his sprites, as they look a tad...unrefined (mainly the way that the outlines are drawn). *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

wow :O*D..
using Hulk doesnt look so bad either Acually. Its hella different seriously.
But also with Juggernaut i think that will stick true to the Traditional Gutsman look.
Heh...well what you can do is Release the Juggernaut Stance idea "first" and then later for an "EX" Gutsman use the Hulk stance in a later date. Who said you couldnt have fun with both ideas? :-?? ;)

Good luck with this project. always been a big fan of the Mega man 1-3 back in the day =D>

I could see it as a special intro vs mega man, where he comes out in a kangaroo outfit, and then rush bites off the tail as his bending over giving some kid a baloon
