Ive got a USB Logitech Dual Action controller and a very old "Interact propad 6"

Thats pretty basic cleaning for any controller m8. Nothing to worry about. You can't damage that unless you really try to basically. Plus if its not working correctly if you break it just buy another one. im guessing these are cheap now because I know ive had the exact same controller for years.
Just watch the vid step by step and you should be fine. But again its pretty basic controller cleaning m8. Ive done this several times to my xbox 360 controller and it still works 100%
