History:
Three Wonders (Wonder 3 in Japan) - is an arcade game made by Capcom in 1991 using the Capcom Play System (CPS1) engine.
Midnight Wanderers - A platformer, like other Capcom titles such as Mega Man and Strider.
The player controls a kid named Lou and his comrade, Siva, to basically run, climb, and shoot at enemies.
Chariot: Adventure through the Sky - A basic shoot-'em up game featuring the characters from Midnight Wanderers, but in a Gradius-esque game.
I spent a lot of time playing these two games in the Arcade when I was a kid. I was over joyed to see him as a striker in MVC1. Ever since then I wanted to see him be made into a full character. One day I was bored and wanted to sprite but something different then a Megaman character so I decided to try and make Lou run. Then then evolved into a full character. When I first started showing him off Anvil contacted me since he was also a fan and wanted to help. Anvil made all Siva's sprites and helped with converting sprites from Three Wonders and making some Lou sprites. We also made more sprites from working off each others sprites.
Lou was lots of fun to make and it was a great working with you Anvil. Trasgo07 you did a awesome job coding Lou. It would be my pleasure to work with either of you again on something in the future. Lou far exceeds what I originally envisioned. Without the both of you Lou would not have turned out the way he did and I cannot thank you enough. ::salute::
Left to do for a Future release:
Custom voice acting for Lou and Siva.
Add the three helpers from Three Wonders (Firestorm, Chilly, and Corkscrew) brought on screen by two other characters in a chest.
Whatever bugs might be found.
A Custom stage. This is already in the making from a friend but is not ready yet.

Great stuff, man. I've been wondering though, is all the work on him mostly updated sprites from the original games or is a lot of scratch work.? As I can't tell at all if a base was used. ;D

Lou is came by 3wonders a old game yes.. but in MvsC1 it was a helper characters by the capcom size, (like Arthur) :)

You know, I never even expected to see Lou in, ever since I came across EOH for the first time. That's what I call standing up for the little guy (literally :P).

You did a pretty good job, because I couldn't tell the difference! I don't really mind that his art style is distinct from the rest of the chars either, because it's intentionally retro. Splendid. :thumbsup:

I am always without a doubt floored to see yet another Capcom character brought to life in a 2 fighter format there are so many different classic games that could truly be rehashed in to a fighter thanks for the release I look forward to seeing what other things you will release!

If you;re going to continue the videos I suggest you do a few at a team for each video.

i agree as i would want to not showcase one character but a lot at once. as you can tell though i finally figured how to cut scenes out of the video and add music to it since for some reason snagit wont save the audio. i also been thinking maybe i could be like a character tester for anyone who wants me to be and give feedback. i like beta testing as it helps the creators creations get better and better

Snagit can record sound only if your computer supports internal sound recording.
Back on topic: You guys did a great job bringing Lou to life. I really like how Siva is there on screen helping out.

All sprites from MVC1 was used. Many sprites from Three wonders were converted and used. Some idea's and parts of sprites were used from Ibuki and various others in Pocket Fighters. ALOT of from scratch work was also done. :thumbsup:

Yes I thought the same thing. After Acey's wonderful Arthur and Lognair's awesome Thor become mugenized that became my a lot inspiration to make Lou. I figured if they could make those I can make Lou. ;D

If anyone can create a better EOH Hyper Portrait for Lou then what I came up with feel free to give it a shot.

Lou's normal shoot and Siva's knife are both easy infinites. Should be looked into.

This is a rather unique and unusual choice of voices to use for a character, I must admit. 8)

qcf +HP leads to infinite as does the cross bow and siva knifes. doing the hyper three times kills the opponent. thats all for now

I believe I found a major bug: Do a super jump. After that, you can't control Lou's actions anymore, it'll play like a cpu character. Anyone else experienced something like that?

- Normal Shot and Siva's knife do infinites.
- Medium Punch in the corner is an infinite, but only through alternating between tapping forward and pressing Medium Punch in a sequence. Time it right, you get an infinite, time it wrong and you'll either stop the combo or throw the opponent by accident.
