O'rly? How is it with games, such as emulators and stuff?
-
It's ok. I'm being super careful with it. I only have one of my mugen games on it. I can download characters and use fighter factory and make avys on it, But I'm being careful not to get any viruses on it. I use to do my school work on this.
-
Are you using the bootcamp feature?
-
I never

It's ok, but this is what i think of the MacBook. People might perfer the 15 or 17 inch.

I got a good deal on mine <_<|...| it was a chirstmas present.
-
Go with the 17 inch, its way better.
But, do not expect to the Macbook be way beter than a PC. Mac is good on muti thread funcionts, but will fail into single ones. The only good thing is that Mac handle RAM in a better way than XP and vista. But Windows 7 handle it as go as MAC.
I was working on a Mac for many times and I can tell to you: it will fail on some quick tasks, like Flash sites. They are slower on Mac then on a PC, with the same or less power.
-
Finding a connection is another problem too.
-
Connection with what?
-
Finding a connection to use the internet.
-
for the price of one of those i can buy two laptop pc´s better than one of the macs, wtf is up with those

All I want it for is Emulators, Photoshop, iTunes, and DivX movies. Will those work? I know iTunes will.
-
itunes work on a mac.
I haven't used emulators in a long time. I didn't try photoshop though.
-
Photoshop has a MAC version, its very nice.
I can help you with some Mac tips if you want, Black Ice
-
Im gonna go with the 13inch white. The others are mad expensive. And O just tell me all the positives of the Mac.
-
- Its an solid OS, very estable (Linux is more, btw)
- its handle ram very nicely.
- Exposé is one of the better invention from a human beeing . Just search on Youtube.
- TimeMachine is a good way to handle backups
- It will handle many opened programs at once. Windows prior to 7 just sucks at that.
- To install something, most of times you just drop the APP to the APP folder. To remove it, just drag to the trash. Its simple like that, no register problems and so.
- Almost NO VIRUS. Laught at your PC friends when they send .exe infected files, heheh
- its freak beatiful
- MAIL is far more inteligent that Outlook Express or Outlook.
- iCal and Dock will be your best friends.

oh, and the most important:
Colors on a MAC are 99% FAITHFUL. What you see, its what you get on a press.
-
Sounds nice. I just wanna know can it play Dreamcast emulators.
-
I agree with O

hum...don't remember is there is a MAC version of it. You can run it using VMware. (bootcamp doesn't allows you to use both SO at the same time, VMware do).

And JAVA emulators run natively on Mac too
-
i've been using my pro laptop for past 2 years and havent looked back since. i like it cause it's really convenient to use for my day and night job. it's good for my artsy and music stuff. it pretty much pays for itself. and what O said is right, i've never had any viruses or anything retarted happen to my laptop since i've bought it.
but about those emulators i'm really not sure.
-
Yeah, its good for music too. Many musicians use it. To use with music and graphics, its the best option.
BUt...don't use it to make webdesign, it sucks REALLY hard on that area.

Its just a regular mac not a macbook.

typing on a mac is better than using a keyboard, no offense. My wrist hurts when i type on a keyboard.

The Pro is too expensive. I just hope the 13inch is good with GFX.
-
well, 2GB DDR3 Memory is enough to handle the most of things. I was using 1.25 and I could open photoshop, flash, illustrator (a RAM giant eater), dreamweaver, mail , iCal and other things nicelly.
The problem is just when you go to Video tools or render flash based sites.
-
I only use Photoshop 7.0... Im not a fan of CS3. Will it use 7.0?
-
Nicelly.
I use CS4, its way better.
-
Thanx guys! I dont know when Im gonna get it but I know Im the only one thats gonna use it. 13inch White MacBook, Here I Come!!!
-
Run to it man!

I am using a Macbook Pro 15incher. I got it last year for a good deal ($900 for a brand new, it was $1800 at the time) and used it sparingly until I used the bootcamp feature and installed Windows on it, then it because my main PC. It's great on battery life if you treat the battery right, and overall the best computer product I have ever purchased. I now run Windows 7 on a separate partition because the CPU is an Intel processor (or else I wouldn't be able to do this) and it has no issues whatsoever. I use it for editing, managing the forum, MUGEN, Emulators, School work and the built in wireless card is the most sensitive one I own. It picks up signals around me that my regular Sony Vaio could not. My opinion is go for it. You will not be sorry.

Dude that helps alot, but I think Imma get the 13in. If I can find the 15in for a cheaper price, then I would get it.
-
If you are doing artsy stuff like with Photoshop or video editing......Macs are the traditional way to go.
-
Thanx for da tip.

Yeah, like I've said: the colors on mac are 99% identical to the print ones. What you see is what you will get.
-
When I get the MacBook, I'll be sure to post pics and smile with it.
-
huauhauhauhauhauauhauahuahuh.
the image of that boy of the OY MY GOD, NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUURRRR came into my mind, hehehehe
-
Well... I had $800 dollars to put up for the $999 White MacBook, but I had to put it towards the electric bill, which is so gay. Now Im set back. When I transfer to another college my grant and scholarship money should be huge and then I'll buy it. But that money wont come till later this year. I didnt think they would have an Apple store in the south, but I found one in Ridgeland, MS and its an hour and 30mins away.
