I was looking for his stages thread in the release forum and it isn't there anymore. So I was like ok....I tried the Guild, big fight happened there and he got banned or something. I can only find some of his stages at Club SyN. Did he take down the majority of his stages?
-
I dont know, ask around at Club Syndicate and you will probably get your answer.
If the info your looking for isnt there then I dont know what the hell happened..
-
Fill us in when you find out because I have no idea .

I am now semi-private
my largest leecher fan base comes from guild yet guild staff slapped a 1 week limit on my releases
so in retaliation I removed the majority of my work except my 5 most frequently downloaded
-
MOTVN will you still allow say IMT to download your stages? If not can you atleast put all your current stages up for download for another day or so. Ive been meaning to get them all but have not had the time :'(
-
MOTVN's stuff is awesome, so it's lousy that his stuff is semi-private.
Best of luck to ya MOTVN.

a 1 week limit?
Blame it on Walt
not Valodim, Sepp, Titiln, P.o.t.S etc.
screw Walt
that's just plain rediculous
I was gonna release a screenpack soon
ain't no way in hell a screenpack should only have a 1 week limit
nor should any stage
here's a great idea Walt
let's put a 1 week limit on the Reuben Kee Tribute stage update
sure thing buddy
whatever

So why dont you release your stuff at Club Syn then bro..
The people from guild will eventually go get your stuff there or here so whats the whole drama about.
Im not in a good mood so sorry if Im sounding like a d***..
Me and you are tight MOTVN so dont take this as me putting you down..
-
I would have to agree with Scar . To a point people worship your work here . Why deny them the enjoyment of your new stuff because of something that happened at Guild ?
I never really did care for that forum .

I agree with both scar and DT. Just forget guild and use IMT and club syn as your release places. We all still love your work. Just because one forum is being....unfair... dont let it drag you down m8.
-
it's not about being dragged down
it's about them being shady
they want my stages yet just the other day staff was editing my posts in my release threads
recently when I confronted all of their admins at once in their IRC
none of them could even deal with me straight up man to man
sackless wussies
-
screw em then, personally I'm with DT. I'm no fan of the guild (just because of the treatment they give IMT folks) so I say yeah, just release stuff here and at Syn's.

What you do should be dependent on your goals.
I don't think cutting off your fanbase from your works, is going to help you in the long-run.

I hear what you are saying and it is rather unfortunate that some who have interest have not had the chance to download them but it's not like I didn't announce my work, it's not like they weren't up and it's not like they are unrequestable. Events happen and people change. I used to be a strong advocate for the silent voices of the community and during my time as a contributor my team and I always gave back to the community as best as we could.
I used to believe that if even just one person who I would never hear from downloaded and enjoyed my stage it would be enough to make me want to keep my work open to the public but honestly right now I can't put myself in that person's shoes so to speak.
My stages have always been a novelty and I've never censored myself during creation. All this with help from others contributed to their success. Believe me when I say that removing Alaska Base my first creation for Sean Altly's Solid Snake was very difficult for me, I found it as part of a necessity for myself to move on. I can be an "all or nothing" type of guy in certain situations and since Mugen is in part a really big personal hobby I decided it would be better if I cut back.
Motivation is a big factor when it comes to being involved in a community and I always looked at the community as a whole rather than the individual forums or youtube. Since removing the majority of my work from being downloadable I've recieved close to a 100 PM's from all my various inboxes in regards to my stages and yet what it comes down to is I am too vocal and too opinionated to ignore the occasional events that arise with release topics. If I wasn't the way I am it would be so simple to just post announcements and never check on the responses while leaving my work available.
Bottom line is I am passionate about my hobby but I'm tired of dealing with community politics, trolls and drama.
I still create and collaborate but being semi-private right now is my way of cutting back on the scene.

Believe me , Bro , Most of us are sick of the community politics & BS . We all just keep chugging along though because of our love for this hobby . The people that enjoy my work makes it worthwhile also . But you have to do what you feel is necessary . Good Luck to you . I hope you came back to the community as a contributor sometime in the near future .
