Title: I want to learn how to edit sprites

How would I do that? I know most people just say "use paint" but what exactly would I have to do in paint to be able to edit the sprites. Is there like..... a tutorial somewhere?

you want to edit a character but dont know? and dont know how to use paint?

its simple... copy the sprite whos gonna be edited and

if you want to replace the
a.head
b.body
c.arms
d.legs

then cut it or recolor it or put some armors thats all, or remake it

you dont need that much of a tutorial...just a keen eye and the ability to pull it off correctly...little known secret, some of the newer seen marvel characters out there came from bases like spider-man, war machine, rogue, psylocke, etc

try to make a custom stance for a character using pieces from other sprites

Meh I'll try. How do I copy the sprite though? I used to know how but I forgot.

wat do you mean copy?

just grab a sprite from fighter factory & have at it

I found a good bisic frakenspriting tutoral that gives some visual examples

From what i gather most people use paint shop pro, i dont know how to use that program or get a totaly free version (just the free trial)

I use gimp, which you can get from download.com

If i were you i would pratice with mega man sprites

I actually made a new green goblin sprite for acey, with the finger lazer, she got a kick out of it

also you can start with any sprite you want dude


god sakes...hardly anybody thanks me for my little nuggets of wisdom anymore..
