I did some recon and found new console commands that let you join the infected team in singleplayer on PC.
Create a empty .txt file in your L4D/left4dead/cfg/ folder. Copy and paste the following code into it:
echo "custom mode activated!"
sv_cheats 1
director_no_human_zombies 0
sb_all_bot_team 1
unbind "F1"
unbind "F2"
unbind "F3"
unbind "F4"
unbind "F5"
unbind "F6"
bind "F1" "z_spawn boomer"
bind "F2" "z_spawn smoker"
bind "F3" "z_spawn hunter"
bind "F4" "z_spawn tank"
bind "F5" z_add
bind "F6" "z_spawn witch"
Save and rename this file 'custom.cfg'
Now just start a singleplayer game at any difficulty. When the map is loaded, open the console with ~ key and type:
exec custom.cfg
You're all set! Use the 'm' key (default) to switch teams. Now you can use this:
F1 - spawn (as) Boomer
F2 - spawn (as) Smoker
F3 - spawn (as) Hunter
F4 - spawn (as) Tank
F5 - spawn Zombie
F6 - spawn Witch
Note that if you spawn monsters, they will pop up where you aim your crosshair.
Additionally, you can stop the survivior AI by adding this command:
sb_stop 1
