he didnt really leave after Resident Evil, he was just doing his own thing. He was the main character in that Resident Evil :Gaiden, but its too crappy to remember and he had a cameo in Resident Evil 3 depending on which ending you got and in the epilogues, if i remember correctly you have to get the ending where Nicholai gets to a evac chopper and you dont kill him then Barry will come other then that no word.
