Yeah school sucks, but you want to know the secret that nobody ever really tells you while you're there? The "real world" sucks alot harder. Once you get out there on your own, there may not be so many people telling you what to do, but that's because nobody gives a damn if you make it or not. You get a lot of breaks while you're a student that you never even realize. Lots of places give you discounts, and some places even offer things for free. If I could do it all over again, I'd stay in school as long as possible.

Dam * sheds tear* man that was motivational and ur so right my mom tells me the same thing ur like a parent 8) Thank u thats wat im talkin about u deserve a hand for that =D> =D> =D> And i dont go down without a fight im one of the few leader figures of the hood u know how many black ppl are so suprised when they find out i can speak japanese u will never find someone like me. Yea i go bad like most ppl in my hood but im going in a positive direction.

You're on the right track, man. That's awesome that you speak Japanese! One thing that life has taught me is that knowledge is everything, and the more you know the more people start to respect you. I hope you're thinking about college, even if it's just a local community college to start (don't worry about money - grants and student loans are easier to get than you'd think). Getting a degree will open up more doors for you than you can imagine, and it really does earn you a lot of respect with people. And just imagine how surprised people would be finding out that a kid like you went to college.

hell yea im going to college my whole family has been poor for generations and my mom really wants me to go to college she said she would be sooooo proud of me if im successful because she grew up poor, and had kids at the age of 16 and regreted it. Shes trying to finish college now But yea my older brother who is on probabtion is in college and my sister who just turned 18 is about to start college and so am i next year. And everyone doubted my mom sayin she was a bad mom and that all her kids were goin to have kids before the age of 18. Suprisingly she taught me discipline how to act in public area's and to always be respectful and none of us have kids at the age of 18. Thanxs I burner i will go to college i want to make my mom proud of me.

Well since i'm required to take 2 outside school programs in continuation school i am taking japanese language in college right now while i am in high school. I guess i will do something that has to do with travel since i will be able to speak 2 languages.

Yeah, knowing Japanese would make you really valuable to a lot of companies (like Sony, Toyota, etc.). Maybe try taking some business classes in college.

Man u say everything that my mom says lol she said i should get a job for sony also. And in her younger days my mom was violent until she had dreams of killing people all the time she ended up going to church and now she is an amazing person. Well i start japanese college class this thursday actually me and my mom go to da same college at da same time.

Oh yeah I'm making sure I use the BOCES Computer Networking class to learn the basics of Computer Networking. Here is a description of the program here (http://www.wswheboces.org/CTE/ProgramInformation.htm#Information%20Technology/CISCO).
So far I learned on how to make a RJ-45(Ethernet cables) which was very basic with just the plug and cable.

wow i need a thread like this one. im out of school now and im 21 and now i work and everything f*in goes to bills and i can go to college but im lacking motivation and spirit like i used to have. right now retsu and my other friend in illinois are the only friends i truly have and neither can be here with me right now to keep me going. i got a lot on plate just like u nutpatch. i have more on my shoulders than most know and i almost gave up......i was supposed to be the one to bring my family out of the mess it is in and be the hero. one sacrifice that was worth has cost me that but i plan on reclaiming my spot but yet still i lack the effort and will power. nutpatch do me a favor man......go all the way to the top and dont ever stop for a girl or because someone needs your help. dont put aside your success to help someone because if u do even if the cause is honorable enough to do so you will pay for it in the future because since you didnt succeed you have no money and that means u staying back to help someone was worth it but at the same time it wasnt cuz now you cant even help that person let alone help yourself. thats the mistake i made but thats all going to change. make a promise with me.......let's not ever stop climbing even when we are satisfied and let's strive for what people say is impossible...Perfection!!! >:(
