Title: MVC Ryo Sakazaki
Post by: TehBazzard on June 18, 2008, 04:13:36 PM
Wired... most of my posts got deleted, so please excuse the 3RD topic of this (  >:()
Yes. I am creating a character. As the topic says, it's Ryo played MVC style! :mrox:
I'm using the MVC:EOH template by Acey, Span and ReDHoT! And Race45 is helping me code.
SYSTEM:
*Chain Combo
*Launcher
*Guard Push
*Super to Super canceling
Other stuff:
Intro with P.o.t.s's Ryu and Yuri!

Progress is very early. Few attacks, anims and sounds are implimented. I'd say 4% done. When all nessesary attacks and anims are put in, you'll get the Alpha.
I hope I can finish this before summer...
Anyway, feed back appreciated!
NOTE:Wanna help? Wanna make a few sprite edits? Send me a PM!
If you're wondering, the reason why I chose Ryo is:
1:I had the most ideas
2:Ryo feels all around neglected by both SNK and fans alike. Same with Robert and Andy.
3:Wild Tengu both gave me original ideas and some concepts.
4:I love MVC gameplay SNK characters.
5:I Think Ryo would give me good experince for future work. There is a lot of custom states and the such due to how his moves work, like Hien Shippu Kyaku, Zanretsuken, that one move that works like Iori's QCB+P move, etc.
Thanks to C.V.S.N.B. from MFG and his sprite edits, THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED!
Custom Intro

Special Stance!
As you can see, I have some axis problems....
I plan to use the special stance to occur when you reach atleast 3 power bars.
I am done with all the crouch attacks. I also am implementing the MVC2 announcer into Ryo.
Well, thanks to Cyandie, I know how to use the custom stance. Problem is that I'm now getting this "assert Failure in spr-lib.c line 560" message, and that's even in non-debug Mugen, so I don't know what's wrong. And Madre wants me to Beta test his W.I.P, so until I get that fixed (and he uploads to a different site) I'm a bit stalled.
I'll choose my own beta testers, and I'm looking for a site to host my Ryo when it's done. Contact me if you have a site (MUST HAVE HOSTED OTHER CHARACTERS BY OTHER AURTHORS).
And if anyone has a list of CVS Ryus and CVS Yuris that have the CVS2 special intro (that aren't Warusaki3) Let me know, so I can contact them and see if I can make them compatible with my intro.
Plans:
All specials from CVS2 implemented into Ryo
MAYBE Air Zanretsuken, if a spriter wants to help
Air Haoh-Shokoken, but will need a spriter
Bonus Pallets
Intro with other characters?
MAYBE Strikers
Well, feedback I'll take here.
Moko Raijin Zanretsuken
Tag Feature with possible future creations and MVC:EOH chars
Super to Super Canceling like MVC2
Thanks to Acey, Span and ReDHoT for the EOH template, Dreamslayer for the Sprite Rips, Catinbags for the Hyper Portrait and other portrait, P.o.t.s for being a good bud and making the intro compatible and XCB/Big Eli King for the Tetsu fireball sprites, which I edited for the Koohken and Haoh-Shokoken fireballs.

Good to see someone making SNK characters with MVC game play.
Keep up the great work.

You should use the hitsparks from MSHvsSF instead of MvC2.

You should use the hitsparks from MSHvsSF instead of MvC2.
Sorry, but I have 2 reasons:
1:I perfer MVC2 Sparks over MSHvsSF, and these MVC2 sparks were already in the Template's SFF.
2:I think there is a lack of characters that use MVC2 effects for MUGEN. I know there is probably even less that use MSHvsSF effects, but I honestly perfer MVC2.
His gameplay style will be like MVC2. I will still have 6 buttons, maybe with a 4 button optional CMD. But I also probably will include Parry system from CVS2. I will try my best to have infins.
I doubt the AI will be able to use them though
I also plan for strikers. Yuri and King. Although I feel bad for leaving out Takuma/Mr. Karate and Robert. I would use Maricanv's tutorial to make them CVS2 style, but even with the guide (Can't read Docs.   :'() I don't think I'll have the time, paitence or skill to do so. KOF and MVC2 don't mix so...

You kno i think we should add moves that he no other ryo has... you kno, something that will seperate im from others ryo's and make it where people come and get this one not only cus he is a mvc2 version, but has new supers or moes to offer... I would like to use a transformation move on him in my own style, like make him turn into his mr.karate shin mode, and then do some kind of move... and also, i also learned how to do a raging demon lke move thanks to vyn, i asked him could i use that code in an edit of mine and he said yes so i bet he won't mind when i ask him about doin this.... Anyway, so yeah... i have loads of ideas, so whenever you're ready just pm me and send him over and i'll either code it or help you code it or both of us can code him
