Hello All.
When I try to open Mugen with the XMvsSF screenpack, I get the message "Can't find file font/jg2.FNT"
The weird thing is, jg2.fnt doesn't even come with the screnpack. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks in Advance.
-
I'm getting a similar error, something like
"can't [this font]"
and
"can't [some other crucial element needed]"
I sent an email to doorhenge, hopefully he'll make the screenpack correctly, as he always does
-
Okay, at least I'm not the only one...
I thought I was doing something wrong...
;D
-
ok.. well if you get that error, just try and find jg2.FNT and correct the fight.def. The reason youre getting the error is because that file is somewhere its not supposed to be. It's probably supposed to be in the fnt folder.
-
well then that means the person assembled it wrong!! anyway, I hope doorhenge makes this, he makes em easy like they should be!

Add this to the data folder, it should work better now.

Thanks, but it still doesn't work.
-
what message are you getting now?
-
It still says I'm missing jg2.FNT, which never came with the screenpack, nor MUGEN itself.
I have jg.fnt, but nothing else.
-
Here:
font= is the system fonts
fonts= is the fonts in the data folder
just replace both of them

Okay, the screenpack shows up now, but no characters show up, even though I list them in the select.def
-
damn it..the creator of this screen pack is a n00b! where's doorhenge when you need him??

Yeah... If I'm not mistaken, this is the ONLY Marvel Series Screenpack he hasn't done.

Okay, I finally figured out the problem... the way that the select.def was made, it didnt let any characters show up on the character select screen. A couple edits of the select.def, and the screenpack is working perfect now.
-
cool ;D
-
what were the edits?
-
Well, I actually don't mean edits, but more of a format change.
Well, in the original select.def, this was the format:
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================kfm=========================
=======================Amingo=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================blank=========================
=======================wolverine=========================
=======================warmachine_mvc========================
=======================venom========================
Now for some reason, this wouldn't let ANY characters show up on the select screen.
I simply erased the (===) from the character lines, so that it would show up like this.
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
kfm
Amingo
blank
blank
blank
I didn't do this before, because I thought that it would just screw up the screenpack some more, but
hey, it worked! ;D
-
trying now...will edit post & report back when I can

You're doing way more work than you should.
This: =======================Amingo=========================
should have been this: Amingo;=========================
It should save you the trouble of erasing all those "=."
The ones that have the blanks in the center you leave as is.

alright..I have good news & bad news
good news:
pack works
bad news:
no idea how the hell to increase the roster size........
that and the music in the menus, etc doesn't want to work

Move the music that comes with the screenpack, into the sound folder. It works there.
As for the roster size, I don't think you can. Then again, you could always screw around with
the system.def...
-
trust me, I moved the MP3 files, I read the readme ;)
its just assembled in a FUGLY manner

It sure is...
On the bright side, it IS a pretty cool screenpack.:)

There is a tut for that here: http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=1363.0

Yeah it is a really cool screenpack that has the fonts, the lifebars, the announcer and everything which is why I requested it awhile back (actually I only requested the lifebars but scar gave me the whole entire thing instead which is cool because the screenpack is awesome). Although scar had fixed up the most of the error's for me so I didn't have to go through the crap fixing it myself. He even fixed the tag team selection glitch thing.
....It's a great screenpack all in all...
It's just really really really messy and needs to be put together properly. The creator did a great job on all the work, but he made it a puzzle to put together. So now that you guys were able to fix it, is doorhenge still going to make one?

I normally know how to do it, doorhenge makes it wonderfully simplicistic..but in this case, it's really difficult...I don't know how the programmer did it...
