What do you use to play mugen with a keyboard controller or something else. I use a keyboard but I ordered a PS2 controller adaptor so I soon will be able to have the best time playing mugen(it comes with two ports ;D ) .
-
Keyboard.
-
i have a contoller but i prefer keyboard
-
i have the six button mat with the joystick so it feels like im playing at the arcade yea thats right awesomeness!! :D
-
for marvel vs. Capcom characters I use a control, because I can't air combo on a KB.
But for other characters like KOF, CVS. I use a keyboard.
-
This again...
I use a PS2 controller.. Using a keyboard for a fighting game just seems so wrong...
http://www.redoctane.com/universaladapter.html
-
I don't understand how peeps can play a fighting game on a keyboard.... that said, I just use this gamepad
http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/p990.htm works pretty good too, just don't have a start button...
-
it's pretty easy for me to use a keyboard anyway i don't do that all the time i basically use my dreamcast controller or a usb controller depending on either when i'm playing on the computer or on the dreamcast.
-
I use my psx adapter to hook up my playstation 2 controller ( have deep respect for people who play mugen on a keyboard). Its just that i tryed playing on a keyboard and it just didnt do it for me.
-
it's not that hard i can do a 40 hit combo with shin akuma(pots) with a keyboard
-
KEYBOARD!
You think I did those killer (Shadow) combos with a Controller?
phhffft....
-
Ive been using the Logitech Precision Gamepad 2
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/gamepads/devices/301&cl=us,en
It works nice, or it did, i think ive been hitting the buttons to hard lol
But for 10 bucks it works great

I ripped the guts of a joypad from a MvC arcade machine that was falling apart (was beyond repair, me and Vcross tried to fix it) and wired it together with a PS2 controller. I use that.
-
I use my ps2 controller. but for chars like bison some how using the keyboard it makes it easier to do his moves and specials. don't know why
-
What adaptors do most of you use? I bought this one ( http://www.ztnetstore.com/product_info.php/cPath/28/products_id/173 )and it should be here in about 4 days.
-

I cant really tyoe all that good in the 1st place & tryin to do some of the specials and hypers on a keyboard is frustrating >:(
-
KEYBOARD
Im already used to it so it doesnt bother me at all.
Im actually better with it than with the controller.

I'm okay with a keyboard but maybe I'll be better with my ps2 controller because I use it a lot even for meh wii.
-
I gotta add that Ive never played a fighter with anything other than a controller regardless the console.
I see Desgrav said something about using a PS2 controller. I wonder if there is a way to use DC or GC controllers. I'd like to use a GC one. I like the C sticks and button positioning.
-
i`ve always used keyboard to play mugen...
i`m so used that a gamepad will make me feel strange...besides...you can always edit some commands to make them kb friendly(HCF in a keyboard...WTF???) ::)
-
I'd use a Dreamcast controller if I could, but I use keyboard.

A Logitech gamepad. Almost like a ps2 controller.
-
Like i said i use a playstation 2 controller (And i can atest to how durable those things are considering how many times i dropped it). When my peeps come thrue i pass them my logitech controller ( But none of my friends play me in mugen or fighting games anymore, they have all moved on to sport games or simulators)
-
Old microsoft sidewinder gamepad(s).
FoolooF
-
My keyboard (with a custom configuration),
I could use a PS2 controller but i'm already used to it :P
-
Controller, actually I use it for all my PC fighting games (Melty Blood, GG, Fatal/Fake, Super Cosplay Wars, etc etc)
-
If you want to use a dreacast controller go to that site I posted they have an adaptor. ;)

He said he might try the ps2 conroller now...

yeah since he has a ps3 and cannot use the ps2 controller on it.
-
I use the Keyboard. I need an adapter for the PS2 controller but i dont feel like buying it.
-
I've been using a keyboard (with the default configuration) for seven years, and I must say, once you become accustomed to playing Mugen in this fashion, it's like second nature.
-
i'd imagine playing any fighting game on the keyboard would be a nightmare.
Logitech controller. It's designed exactly like a PS1 controller, and they're cheap, like 6 to 10 dollars.
-
I use the Super Smart Joy adapter so I can play with my SNES pad, best game pad ever! ;D
-
If you want to use a dreacast controller go to that site I posted they have an adaptor. ;)
i ment on the dreamcast linux or openmugen on the freakin dreamcast

Hmm...
I use the Xbox 360 wireless controller for MUGEN and all of the fighting games
and I use the PS/PS2 controller whenever I want to play the Super Nintendo emulator
-
keyboard. im pretty skilled by now :D
-
Most of the time I use a keyboard, sometimes I use a ps1 controller, it depends on how the character plays. Some chars a easier to use with a keyboard, and some are easier with a controller.
-
a wal mart controller ;) ;) ;)
-
I saw some posts about it:
Did anyone say anything about using a GC controller? Im trying to find an adapter now because I just bought one from the pawn shop for $4.

I hope mine supports those functions too. Also Eternaga you have an interesting sig that answers so much but raises even more.

I use a logitech cordless ruumblepad 2

As a mainly PC gamer, I use the keyboard.
-
Logitech Controller! ;D
-
I bought this one the other day for the GC contoller I got outta the pawn shop.
It works fine with GC but you can only use the analog stick. I cant find a way to make it switch to the D-Pad. The same with the PS2 contol as well.
*all said in another thread somewhere too.

the P880 was $20 and the P220 was $10. They're both great controllers, especially for PC fighting games. The D pads are awesome, almost perfect. And the P880 you can hit the button in the middle to toggle analog or D pad control, but I stick with D pad control

I have converters like this for my Dreamcast and Xbox. I can use Sega Saturn controllers on my Dreamcast and I can use Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, and PS2 controllers on my Xbox. Now if I can find adapters that let me use my Saturn controllers for my PC then I'll be in there. I know they exist, but I gotta find em.

it's much easier to do with the arcade stick. I can also use my Dead or Alive 4 arcade stick when I want to pound with the big guys

Its all about a perfect D-pad and 6 face buttons for me.
2 Inland pro digital force gamepads is what I use right now
2 old school Microsoft Sidewinder 3d gamepads for backups.
2 Logitech WingMan Cordless Rumblepads for when you really need to game in style (or just need analog sticks)
^:)^

I've had this since June... Wal-Mart had it for $10 so I gave it a try... haven't tried with a Gamecube controller, but I'll try tonight to see if I can't figure it out. Works great with my wireless Mad Catz Xbox controller though ;D
