seriously, what is this?
Whenever I lose a round, instead of reloading the stage, I get this...
Why is it looking for a folder called randes?
-
Check your select.def for randes
-
i got the same thing.
RANDes/MVC-Quint.def
*checks DEF
FOUND IT! But i dont know what the error was b/c the stage has work perfectly before?
-
try changing randes to stages
-
check the stages .def for randes
-
No, RANDes is what pops up in the error messge like I posted before. Its happened a couple times more since then but with different stages.

Yeah, I never wrote randes, plus my select.def has no randes in it.
EX: say I'm fighting someone on stage0. What happens is the stage will load, but if I lose the round and the character on I'm fighting against doesn't have a stage assigned to him:
ex, ryu, random
when I continue, it craps out and says "Error message: Can't open stage: randes/stage0.def"
-
I think making another folder called randes would work since that is where mugen is trying to open the stages from.
-
Im starting to think that this may have something to do with havin RANDOM stages set for chars in the select.def :-w

Problem with that is I gotta copy all my stages into randes. I used to do that, but it gets to be a mess and just makes my mugen huger than it already is. I'm pushing close to 3G's.

See, this didn't happen before. Putting "character, random" used to work just fine, then all of a sudden, it didn't. And I can't figure out what triggered it or when it started doing this.

Well, I just figured out I needed , RANDOM in the select or my orders wouldnt work. I just put those in lastnite. So iots gotta be that b/c it hasnt happened until after.

I didn't touch anything though. All my unassigned stage characters already had RANDOM already becasue I needed it to assign music and order to them.

what SP are you using G Lux?

Oh this is easy! I had the same problem once.
Don't put "random". Put "randomselect".
so for example:
bill_cosby, randomselect, order=OVERNINETHOUSAND

*Loud @$$ Slap to Self*
OMFG, Are you serious Tenspeed? :-w
-
deadly serious. I had the EXACT same problem a while ago. pop the select.def open in notepad, edit>replace, then you know what to do.

\-/o GREAT! that means 500+ randomselect instead of RANDOM. What a headache...
-
well if you do the find>replace thing, you can just hit "replace all"
-
:o AWESOME! I didnt know about that trick. I never really got into notpad too much. Thanx.
*so much better than delete & ctrl+V

OMG, WTF man! I can't believe it's something that simple.
-
yeah man, the replace all thing has saved my life thousands of times. I was tearing my hair out over that random thing when it was happening to me, then I felt so dumb when I found out what I had to do.
