Title: Easy Screenshots??
Post by: MuηkyMØÜf on August 19, 2007, 02:41:49 AM
I thinkI remember before the forum went down (again) or maybe after, there was a thread that talked about gettin screens by hittin pause in the middle of a fight then an F? button on the keyboard. Something about using the paint program too?

I had stepped in and asked how to do it and what are some of the best screen capture programs and video capture? free of course :o

Just trying to figure it out again since I cant find the thread

The F12 button is correct. It's really nice, as you need no aditional programs to take screenshots for Mugen.

I'm not sure about a video caputre program, but Animget is good for taking screenshots of anything on your PC (including other types of games). It's pretty easy to find it on Google, as it's a pretty popular little tool. ;)

dude...if it's a PC based laptop..it's the same damn button..it'll just be in a different location..just use that button

Prt Scr
Sys Rq

that'll do screen caps

trust me

you have to make shure the debug settings are on
and push F12

no "h" in "sure"

also, I wouldn't use the F12 key if I were you..just use the key I've indicated

ACTUALLY. F12, Takes screenshots in MUGEN as Jay_High stated. alot easier than prnt screen...Paste...edit. The screenshots go in your MUGEN folder. since it takes the shot itself. not the entire Computer screen...

eh...not my preferred method

hmmmm, really now.  ;D Like i said before I was hittin F12 like crazy when I found out, but I dont know where to find the stills??

thats why it's better to use the

Prt Scr
Sys Rq

button, so you can paste to MS paint, crop & save

It is better because.

F12 Takes screen shots.
The stills or, photos end up in your MUGEN folder. where the Mugen.exe is located.
It's alot easier, since you don't have to go to a photo editing doftware and delete the unwanted parts of the screen capture.

ya, that's why I use the button I mentioned, I don't like going into the file structure to find screen shots, I like having instant access to em, and besides, I don't mind cropping em, I work with images all the time :p

Press F12 and look in you folder with mugen.exe like zero said.
Every picture I took is done that way... then I resize in a different program.

I did that and then I HAD to get another program to use the PCX files. I DL'd InfranView. The only complex i have now is whether or not I can upload PCX files. I tried Photobucket but they have some BETA crap that wasnt even working right when I hit the upload button. That accoun got DELETED!

So, any good suggestions on another site to upload thats user friendly and no spamming ads?

* i like F12 btw. its good to see the files and what stills have been taken. I wish I could changetheir destination though.

Convert them to JPEG or another type and then upload them to any of those pic sites.
