Title: Street Fighter Alpha Manga

I was at the bookstore today and I found the first volume of the SFA manga.

Like in typical japanese tradition, this is mainly about Ryu and it explores his Dark Hadou.

What happens is Birdie is escorting drugs on a small boat and he hires Ryu as a body gaurd, this takes place shortly after Ryu beat Sagat. When the Narcotics department of the police catches the gang admist the sea, Ryu daunted from the power of the dark hadou that he unleashed on Sagat knows he did not win the fight fairly and doesn't want to fight anymore in fear of the Dark Hadou taking over him, Birdie cheers him up then shortly after Chun-Li hops out of the helicopter to do battle with Birdie, Ryu puts his duty as a body gaurd aside to respect the warriors at fight in a one on one battle. Then some guy from a police cruise ship attempts to shoot Birdie with a machine gun, Ryu now being a body gaurd throws himself in front of Birdie and takes two bullets into the chest, one of them most likely fatally wounding him. The power of the dark hadou then turns Ryu into a killing machine, supposed to be dead he gets up and launches the bullets from the wounds in his chest.  Ryu has flashbacks of young Ken and himself training with Gouken, Gouken tells that their fighting style was used mainly for murder and one person could take down a whole country (or something like that), however Gouken's master Goutetsu upgraded that fighting style so it could be known as a respected martial art, the Goutetsu's version of the fighting style however didn't stop the users from being able to use the Dark Hadou.  When Ryu goes on a rampage Birdie understands why Ryu wanted to quit fighting. Much later Ryu ditches the white headband and Ken takes off the headband in his hair and gives it to Ryu (just like the animated movie, but Ryu wasn't wounded). Over all, I think I like this manga and it's the best telling of the SFA story I've seen so far...

Personally I liked SF2 the animated movie the most, Alpha was okay but it derived too much from the real story. Generations.... They made Gouki look like an ape... nuff said.
