No this is not version 2.0 with all the bug fixes.  The bug fixes are being worked on but not ready yet.  Whats new in this release you ask then?
This release is to hold everyone over until version 2.0 is ready.
1.  Added louder sounds
2.  Updated and Re-added 400 something sprites.  (Removing the red shine, minor updates to others.)  Thats it!
I originally was not going to release this version, but I enjoy playing this version much better and I thought you would like it too.
So no complaints.   ;)
Enjoy!

The time has finally come for Metalman to be released. After 10 months of work by myself and Excursion coding and some beta testing.
I hope you enjoy playing Metalman as much as I did creating him.
A special thanks goes to Excursion for coding.
God_king for recording custom English voices for Metalman and Crashman.
Span for the wonderful custom Wily Castle stage.
Please take a couple minutes to read through the Readme. There have been several more people instrumental in helping me complete Metalman too.
Feedback, ect. is welcome.  Post away.

A custom AI by hjkAIer is on the way sometime in the near future also....   :w00t:

Also if you don't want to use the EOH port if opened in Fighter Factory sprite 3 is a standard select port. Enjoy!

Ok... So far.. what I find:

If you still hold up foward after he jumps over the opponent he doesn´t turn back to face the enemy.

If you do Air Metal Barrage (in the air obvsioully  :P) he slowly fall down. The problem is that if you do it near to the floor... he stops the super when he touches the floor!!!

By the way... when he does this super.. in the very beginning... Is that right when he opens his arms and  hits the enemy?  Cause I didn´t see it as a damage move at all!!!

I saw in readme that you will re-do the shine effect on his boots. In fact it´s a bit strange those red shines!!!

Just a sugestion: His throw is good... But I think that his shoulder´blades should move to make the damage... as welll as they move in his taunt!

So far.. I think that´s all!!!

Please feel free to ask if you still have any doubts about anything I said above!

Once again.. great job!

Yea I couldn't get it louder for some reason...
I plugged in some powered speakers and it sounded loud though.
I am hoping someone records their own video with some good volume and posts at some point soon...   ;D

Oh boy.... Why can't people do Rockman characters some justice..?
  • You DO know you're supposed to put CLSN2 on projectiles, right? Otherwise they'll just go right through another projectile.
  • I can SPAM QCF+HK over and over for an easy infinite. In fact, try it yourself. You'll get a ton of Metalman clones.
  • As a matter of fact, I can SPAM pretty much ANY projectile over and over again. Use a NumProj or NumHelper in the .cmd! In any game I've played, if a single projectile is thrown, I should not be able to throw another one until that one has disappeared!
  • Why the hell am I able to gain super meter during a super move?
  • QCB+KK seems out-of-place and like I said above, why do I gain super meter from it? I swore to god that a few times I thought it didn't use ANY super meter at all. It regenerates that quickly! I shouldn't gain power from super attacks! In addition, make this move a Lvl. 3 if you MUST keep it.
  • I find the Mech Dragon to be very out-of-place. Really. There's no need for it.
  • Generic shoryuken, ugh. We don't want more shotoclones. Come up with a more original anti-air, like a 45゜ Metal Blade.
  • THE HUNTER CHAIN! LEARN IT! It's the basis for pretty much ALL MvC combos, Rockman included. LP→LK→MP→MK→HP or HK. Although in MvC I believe many are able to go from HP to HK.
  • Missing Negative Edge. Search Guild for information regarding it, I'm too lazy to go through it.
  • For the love of God, color separate those sprites! It hurts my eyes that there's RED highlights on YELLOW areas.

Thank you for the feed back.  "For the love of God"  lolz :D
MVC combos are there.  LP, LK, MP, MK, HP, HK
Hmm this should have been fixed.  I can SPAM QCF+HK over and over for an easy infinite.
The shine on the boots taken off on the next release.
All else will be looked into.

And remember this IS my first character.   :w00t:

This really great for your first character, lots of potential here. With the fixes mentioned from Jesuszilla this could be a really fantastic character, although I personally do like the dragon super. Really great custom sprites and pretty decent movelist, changing the uppercut to something more original would help though. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next update.

If you dont like, go do one better yourself, man why in the hell do you have to be so rude with your feedback, why not telling him nicely and camly. Again, if you dont like his job, do it yourself or just dont use this char!

Well hot zig!  Metalman's in the hizzouse!  This calls for celebration....with my personal favorite dance, "Do the Metalman"!  I'll start!  Do the Metalman!  Swing your blades from side to side, c'mon its time, again, do the metalman!  Throw them blades, and then again, c'mon, lets do the metalman, all together now!  *accidentally slices own arm off*  Ah well, its only a flesh wound, and Metalman's a MVC-styled character, so what've I got to worry about?

Thank you everyone.   ;D

I agree JeusZilla could have been nicer, but it is feedback none the less.
I sat down and edited ALL of my sprites and removed the red shine from the boots.  Once all the bugs, ect. have addressed I will go back through and re-add all the sprites and then I can do a version 2 release.

Jesuszilla didn't really do anything wrong and like laspacho, I greatly appreciate the feedback. I will fix most of these problems and send them laspacho's way. He has the sprites redone (gone is the boot-shine) and we will replace the sprites after a second release (maybe before?) Thanks for the feedback people.  :)

Yes.  Once Excursion works his magic and sends Metalman my way I will replace the sprites and "Poof" after quite a bit of time spent on my part this afternoon the boot shine is gone.  More time on my part too when it's time for me to go and replace the updated sprites.
I also increased the volume of Metalman's voices and sounds.   ;D
So good stuff is comming for version 2.

I can't really add anything to the feedback already mentioned...
(his crouching HP and Back+HK spam infinite is too sickly..)

Besides that grats on his release after all the hard work! :w00t:

Don't really know what to add but, the Dragon super's damage could be toned down and the back HK move can easily be infinited. Otherwise awesome release, I can't wait for your Crashman.

If you dont like, go do one better yourself, man why in the hell do you have to be so rude with your feedback, why not telling him nicely and camly. Again, if you dont like his job, do it yourself or just dont use this char!
IF MY EDITION IS "MEDIOCRE" (VERY BAD, POOR, ROTTEN) THEN MAKE BETTER YOUR GAY!

Brutal Honestly is not appropriate when someone puts their heart and hard work into something, unless your saving them from something worse. Please find a way to use tact in your words.

In no way did he insult Laspascho in his feedback. You can't expect all feedback to be "NICE CAR +1"

OK so Metalman had a few minor flaws & some sprites shading that was colored wrong .

This is Laspacho's first character , did you guys happen to catch that ? Some veteran creator's stuff isn't as good as this .

BTW Laspacho , " Nice Char +1 "

MVC combos are there.  LP, LK, MP, MK, HP, HK
Hmm this should have been fixed.  I can SPAM QCF+HK over and over for an easy infinite.
The shine on the boots taken off on the next release.
All else will be looked into.

And remember this IS my first character.   :w00t:

Arf, I commented on Metalman somewhere else, but don't remember where. I can't do the MvC combo, best I can get is lp,mp,hk or lk,mk,hk and Duck spaming the HP from about mid to long range is an infinite. Anyways, great job for 1st time around. Way above par, eagle even.

Metalman is on his way to 2 da top!  :w00t:

well...i`m kind of used to how Jesuszilla provides feedback(rude and sometimes can be discouraging, but that`s the way he is...)but i agree that it can be done a bit more "neutral"...
Anyway, both laspacho and Excursion appreciate the feedback...
I don`t remember if someone pointed out this already, but when i get hit at the moment i use the Dragon Hyper,by pressing kick button the hyper "activates" automatically and can hit the opponent as long as i hold kick and the duration of this bug is the same as the length for the hyper
Other than what has already been pointed, what else can i say that congrats for a quite solid release laspacho, also props to Excursion for the coding help

yeah, with the dragon hyper, I noticed that getting hit at all, you're still in the dragon state afterwards, instead of being knocked out of the move like with beat plane.

I never knew you were supposed to hold the button though. I always just spammed it.
I think the hyper as a whole could use a second attack (like beat plane). maybe have it lob bombs out of its back or drop metools or something.

Yea the Dragon hyper was meant to be a button masher hyper not a hold down the button hyper.  This will be looked into.
Thanks

and why not? It's how i got better.

any who the bugs i was going to mention was mentioned before. with the infinites and all. however the sounds of the char(the fx) sound a bit choppy. i can help with that if you like(i can remove the clicks and pops out sound 9,0 as well as 22.0). The voices also are very low in volume.

over all this is a new char that deserved to be in mvc in the first place and im glad someone made a attempt and with time i know this char will be exponentially better than now. keep up the good work. :w00t:

I was thinking more about the dragon hyper. maybe spamming punc hwould have the dragon breathe fire, and pressing kick would have it drop metools. you could move while breathign fire, but you'd have to stop moving and breathign fire to drop a metool. the metools would walk around on the ground and shoot, causing additional damage. the trade off on the two attacks is that one sacrafices mobility and attack opportunity to set up more attack opportunities. maybe the metools could be used to stun the opponent, allowing the fire breath to hit, and the opponent could hit the metools to kill them like amingos cacti.

Well, personally, I like this character. It plays well, and I like its pre-recorded western accent.

On another note, the sound effects when the metal blades hit the ground are quite loud and scratchy.

standing air luancher is a infinite( i can keep doing it over and over once the opponet is in the air).

thats all i got for now

edit: another thing, shouldnt the shoryukken-like move be chainable from the air comboes

but my only prob is that every time he attacks the screen flashes and my eyes start to hurt other than that hes awsome
Title: Re: Metalman V1.1 - MvC: EoH Version

I actually love it when the screen flashes. It is reminiscent to Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, matter of fact the other 2 versus games have it too (X-Men Vs. SF & MSH Vs. SF) I'm guessing the flash is there to give the player a sense that the impact of the attacks are heavy. Almost like if you get knocked out you may see a flash of white just before you hit the floor.

I think that is the type of realism they were going for when they made the Marvel and Capcom fighting games. The only MvC series title that does not offer the flash is MvC2, I was really disappointed when they took it out. =/ But then again they took alot of stuff out of that game such as shadows behind a characters super move and individual stage music, it was ashame but anyway.

Metalman is the bomb keep, a quality MvC: EoH hero this one is.

Very nice job for a character. I, being a usually disliker of MVC style character, am surprised that it came out to be such a fun character to play as, but I have one or two complaints.

First it seems that he gains power way to fast, and he can even gain it during supers. I'm not sure if you meant it to be that way but it seems if one move connects he gains one powerbar at least. His dragon super is the worst offender of this cause. I would be please if you could tone it down.

Secondly, he seems really spammy (I know MVC character but still....).

Finally, it may just be me but that shoryuken seems REALLY out of place for a character that focuses on ripping foes into shreds.

Anyway it's a nice character and I can't wait for the updates.

Have a nice night.

I don't mean to dreg up an old thread unless it's important. Even though I have had Metalman in my roster for a while I haven't really playes him til today. I found a move that if you can do it fast enought that once it hits it you can keep doing it until they are dead. When you push back and fierce kick metal man jumps back and throws a saw blade. Here's a pic of what I mean.
