I hope it's not a giant lizard. That idea's old and worn out.

I want it to be something alien - something really nasty looking...

But then some people said during the trailer and some pics they found on the upcoming movie, they saw tentacles, which means it could be a giant squid or something (I most certainily DO NOT want it to be a giant squid.)

At this point, it's too early to identify exactly WHAT it is, although from this angle it looks reptilian in origin.

It's definitely NOT Godzilla, though, so don't get your hopes up.

Sorry to dissapoint but the monster Above LOOKS convincing huh?? Its fake. No way JJ Abrams would let someone leak the monster and get away with it.

  I'm glad that design is fake cuz I don't want to see some movie about a giant mutant whale. It isn't even scary or creepy looking. The real monster better be something real cool, and I for one would be quite pissed if the monster design got leaked before the movie came out. I'm sure JJ Abrams is very protective of his monster and wouldn't let it get leaked to the public so easily. He's purposely not showing it in the trailer so people will go to the theaters just to find out what it is, which is why I hope it's not something lame and worth going to see this movie.

Statue of liberty is bigger than those buildings, and he could use the SOL as a back scratcher.

Although every monster has it's powers. It could have been flying when it knocked off Liberty's head, or it may have the power to change it's size. We don't know. Right now, it's too dangerous to assume anything. Right now, the only power we know it has is a stealth cloak.

No way -- I hope it doesn't stand on two legs. But that thing looked HUGE!

I mean, you could only see a little bit of its back from behind that building.

Are you absolutely sure it stands on two legs and has arms?

If it does, I hope it turns out to look better than it sounds.

I'm sorry, but to me, a monster movie isn't a monster movie if the monster doesn't look scary...

Those "arms" in the front would probably explain the "legs" we saw on the creature.

And Godzilla can't make an explosion like this:



So we should be able to conclude that, thankfully, it's not him, but something much bigger.

P.S. Found this. In this pic, the smoke rising off the buildings seems to be shaping either the front or the back of the creature.



EDIT 2: Judging from the ripples in the water in the pic above, either the creature is very large and has tentacles, or there's two of this monstrosity.

EDIT 3: Withdrawing both comments. I looked at the picture again and realized half the picture is a mirror image of the original...

Still, the ripples in the water says something...

So it makes people explode. That mirrored picture was strange though. At first I was like, haha! Mirrored pic! But When I examined it closer it got even more weird. Like I found beedy eyes, eyebrows, teeth and the shape of it's head.
