Like i said although they changed some of the story around i think this movies best traits will be Fighting.
Production and Rated R . Im no Fan boy but im a huge Fan of Martial arts Flicks and this may be FINALLY the MK
movie i wanted....

from what ive been reading at the midway forums and random movie watch sites its official.
even in Scott adkins movie biography it says hes playing as sub zero.

if not then thats one huge rumor on the net

Nope. It's the same pitch as it was back in June. Someone just updated their IMDB profile a little late. Like War said, nothing has been said on the fan-made short since those Twitter updates like a week after it was released.

I mean i did read a long while about that Name MK rebirth before that video even surfaced. so i just wanna know whats actually real? and as far as the "Fan" part, what super important fan got those actors to be in that short clip? i read that chick u see in the flick headed that whole set up (and yes i do know it was a pitch)

Thanks for clearin that up Twon...and yeh i saw that name devastation on the tube but i didnt look at the video. prolly was fan made anyway . Blah i guess when i did see that "Rebirth" title that long while ago i guess it was meant for that video we all seen..

I think Devastation was canned the minute Warner Bros bought out Mortal Kombat. Usually when companies buy franchises they want to start a clean slate (not true on all occasions though). Warner Bros obviously isn't afraid of publishing dark movies since they've published the Watchmen movie. I personally think they should go for the actual story of the games though. I just don't want it to be so realistic and dark to where  Mileena is a stripper/assassin while Kitana is a rogue kunoichi.... that would just be silly.

If you look at the plot of the original MK movie actually, the only thing that happened in the movie that happened the game were most of the characters origins (ie sonya working with Jax to find Kano, Liu Kang being affiliated with shaolin monks, Raiden being a lightning God, etc) and Liu Kang beating Shang Tsung. Liu Kang killing Sub Zero was bs (in the game it was Scorpion), the character that was the most different in the first movie was Kitana, being a slave of Shang Tsung instead of Shao Kahn and then there's the fact that she remembers everything and never fights alongside Mileena.

MK Annihilation did suck but the fight scene between Scorpion and Sub-Zero was kind of fun.

yeh like undisputed 2. the first was in theaters and the 2nd went straight to dvd. BUT it was of course hands down way hotter than the first with wesley snipes

what? The Joker thing should be the other way around. Dark Knights Joker is way more accurate then the animated series/1989 Batman Joker.

Problem with most video game communities is their transition to their favorite game's baptizim into hollywood.  Video game movies in hollywood usually NEVER turn out to be the way the game is, and when its a game like MK with so much drama between people, fantasy, and small details, things HAVE to be changed.  I have been a fan of MK since I was 4 and played from MK1 to MKA to MK vs DC, you can ask me ANY question about it and I can awnser it with out hesitation but I accept that MK has to change for hollywood.  Part of being a fanboy is sticking with the game you love through thick and thin, embracing the thin.  This rebirth idea looks great to me and I think with a little planning and thinking it can be better than the original MK movie and easily better than MKAnnihalation.  People always panic when they see something different.  I hope people agree
