Title: Sprite comic book covers (100th cover posted!)

These were my first, more of an audition than anything else:

Here's another Flash cover - I've done a Barry Allen cover, and technically a cover from Jay Garrick's Golden Age series, even if I featured Hawkman instead. Now it's Wally West's turn!

I mostly did this one to show of some palettes I came up with of Iron Patriot as the Crimson Dynamo and Jason Todd as Batroc. (I couldn't actually get the mustache into the palette - I just drew them onto the sprite.

Goresickness requested a Captain Marvel vs. Black Adam cover for one of his projects, and I'm posting both versions I came up with here. The first is a Golden Age style cover, while the second is based on Cap's Power of Shazam series from the 1990s. (I thought about adding text to the second one, but I think it works better without it.)

Thanks! I've kicked that around, actually. I just feel like I'd be competing too much with the original, and I enjoy the creativity of coming up with my own. (Besides, I'm a stickler for accuracy, and any deviations required by the lack of available sprites or whatnot wouldn't sit right with me.) But never say never!

Thanks! More JLA ones are on the way. Dark Phoenix...I think I have to wait for certain characters to get made first.

As for AvX, sorry to disappoint, but I'm not a big fan of heroes vs. heroes - I'm more interested in seeing them fight bad guys. But as I told Acey in the previous post, never say never!

Before, I have made covers too! and some sprite scenes just like how you do your covers but I lost them a long time ago.

They're meant to be Nazis/German soldiers (I used a KOF-style Bison palette swap). I was gonna try and work in a supervillain from WW's rogues gallery (maybe Mature as Baroness von Gunther), but I couldn't make the layout work.

Post by: NightDevil123 on August 09, 2017, 12:08:03 AM: So even though I said I wouldn't, Photoshop's...antics...have given me the excuse to rework some of my older covers that I wasn't that happy about to begin with and which I like even less now. In some cases, that meant removing text and word balloons, and in others, it meant changing the villain altogether. Just for comparison's sake, if you're curious, I'm reposting the old covers, followed by the new covers, so you guys can see what changes I made (hopefully for the better).

And yes, I will be going back and fixing the now-broken links.

What he said. Mine are mostly New 52/Rebirth characters. I mostly end up doing redesigns in sprite form for most other characters.

Correct! Not that great of a palette, I'll admit, but it apparently worked well enough for people to get the idea.

(I was gonna have more text on the cover identifying Sonar, but it looked too cluttered and blocked too much of the background.)

I'm actually working on #2. My first one's almost done. The covers are more practice and to keep me in shape. (Also, people can use them for load screens if they want.)

That being said, while I'm open to trying new stuff with sprites, I don't appreciate being told what I should not work on. I don't imagine anyone else in the MUGEN community would either.

I don't remember where I came across it - I've been sprite collecting for years. However, I've redone the cover (I think it looks more dramatic this way anyway.)

(It also originally had text, which would have identified Stane, but it looks better and less cluttered without it.)
