It looks fine to me. I did compared with the official artwork of him, and it fits. Actually, I wanted to do a test to see if his torso would fit on Megaman's body, and ended with that sprite!

Well, the body isn't too bad as is but compare his head size to any other Robot Master's head and you'll see it does look small. He still looks good either way but thought it'd be worth looking over at least.

I agree. From the waist down it's great but he's supposed to be taller than Megaman. Compare the MM7 sprites. Megaman is up to his shoulder. If you can resize him he'd be a great addition to the project.  :thumbsup:

I agree with URN.
Beef him up, ide say make the legs like 2 pixils taller and 1 wider, make his head and torso 2 wider and his hips maybe 1 wider, and maybe make his head one taller arround the jaw cuz that should be a bit bigger.

Yes, it will be just a minor update. The sprites of Megaman 7 are SD for the most part.

I wanted to make someone from Megaman 7, and was between him and Springman.

I played around with the head and upper body some trying to make it bigger while trying not to change the design much.  It's not as tall as mentioned above but he is a little taller then Megaman.  Feel free if you want to use it or it helps in any way.

Dunno, he practicaly loves bombs as much as Bomb Man... :-??
I had those ideas:
- timer bombs as in game with buttons (yeah, bomb, but still)
- purple liquid floods stage - higher jump, slower movement (maybe don't affect Burst Man)
- spikes on top when already flooded, they fall with liquid level
Not much, but still...

I asked this because I got carried and sprited a lot of moves with bubbles and bombs (small bubble that explodes, big bubble that traps opponent, shoot bombs upwards who fall to the ground and explode, step mines), then I saw he was lacking common moves.

Glad to see your back. Glad to see this wip is alive. A lot of these moves look to similar. they need some variation within them.

I have an idea for an original move for Burst man... It might work.  (Doesn't need to be used though)
Since he is Burst man have him burst into a bunch of pieces and then come back together.  When he is apart have a bubble or energy floating in his spot then everything comes back together on top of it.  Kind of hard to explain what I'm thinking but this video shows my train of thought.

Right now, Burstman is missing some crouching attacks, get hits and some basics. He has just one hyper (the one I showed previously), so this is what I'm looking for right now.

Water Panic: He rises water and the opponent loses health by get drowned for a short time...

Burstman doesn't have control over water. He just uses soap to encase his bombs.

How about he fires a slow moving but powerful ball of water. If it connects on an unguarded opponent, it could cause massive damage with a watery explosion.

I can complement this with an special bomb inside!

Yeah, it isn't, I don't get that hype attitude about edited table, it feels kinda awkward being praised for that... Those Burst Man's sprites are a tons harder and now it's kinda stealing Dragoon's thunder with plain simple table 8-} 8=|

Yeah, it isn't, I don't get that hype attitude about edited table, it feels kinda awkward being praised for that... Those Burst Man's sprites are a tons harder and now it's kinda stealing Dragoon's thunder with plain simple table 8-} 8=|

I've been very lazy these days, don't mind it. Besides, I can't simply sprite it whithout at least a base for comparision.

This actually gave me a different idea: instead of morphing (which would be a hell to sprite anyways), he would gain a temporary ability boost.

Right now Burstman's sprites are at 90%, which means I may finish him this week.

I´ve started to working on him. He is on very early stages, but I had an idea: to add a water steam which comes from its cannon in some moves, like the run:

And I've fixed something on him that I see in many edited chars: a move where just the arm (or other part) moves, which makes the move boring and unnatural.

I think that's weak. Its not true to mm. one of the reasons for tracking these characters is to see the creativity. To see the different way an artist can intrepid the powers of the rm. Not steal other rm moves.  The rm all have separate techniques. The own ones with similar sets should characters like windman and tornadoman. but even those two should have differences to them. megaman, bass, proto, quint, x, axl, and zero can steal techniques. its sux that he couldn't go the extra mile.

also since you pointed this out. You should clean up the legs too. You can tell the sprites are moving. even if it is just two pixels ( its segmented at two different locations). Its makes the character look slidey (sorry for the poor choice of words and making up them too.) The animation looks smooth but glitchy.  I use this  technique all the time and its not that negotiable in my work...

you need to talk with the author of the char, not me. But I don't see a problem in that, because:

You're partially right, though I think, that BurstMan's powerset really fits him nicely.
Also, the WindMan, that I have planned for that project, will get some creativity as well.

Yeah, I remember ToadMan's powersets very well.
Also, while I will try to follow the project as well, not all of my chars will get powersets. Additionally, WindMan will get an rather unique powerset.

As far as powerset goes, I tried to stay true to Burstman as much as possible. He has just three borrowed weapons (Water Wave, Napalm Bomb and Flash Bomb) and three of his own.

relax, I've fixed in every sprite I needed. To see those things, you need to animated it or put over layers. You can't spot that on a sheet, its hard.

Yes all characters need power sets in RMM.

It's fine to borrow a move form another robot and take some liberties with the power sets as long as it fits the character.  I'm liking what I see for the Burstman power sets.

Example:  With my Toadman he has a lightning hyper.  Toadman never had lightning in the Nes game but I though it would be cool for him to have since his stage has rain in it.  It is also way different then any other hyper he has.

It could be a different way of doing a top projectile on the ground or in the air, or borror another robot's weapon that is somewhat suiting perhaps.

Well, a suggestion could be this:

- Burstman creates a bubble around him and uses as a shield.

- Burstman can shoot a Bubble that "stuns" temporary the enemy.

- As a special, Burstman approaches to the enemy, creates a huge bubble around the enemy, the bubble floats up and suddenly the bubble "pops" and the enemy falls to the ground, the fall could give a huge damage.

- Another special would be a "bubble machinegun". Like the arthur's special in MVC3.

My external drive, where this char was, IS DEAD. I will send the drive to a specialized company for a quote for how much it would cost to recover some files, because I know that the whole HD would go for $ 821 and is very expensive for me.

I've lost a lot of mugen works, plus many personal stuff...

Rage, its a Samsng External Drive HM500JI 500Gb.

None of the programs I've tested can even recognize the HD. Seams that my old computer had sent it a higher power charge via USB, because it turns on, start to move the motors but nothing happens.

There is a small chance if I buy another HD and dismount it. but Its very hard to do.

Here what i use for externals. very simple, very easy. Many people just tossed the drives when this stuff happens......hope the drive not fried tho. I use old laptop, desktops, and externals as my drives though this. i never have to buy memory

:-?? if something on pcb is fried it should be possible to replace whole pcb from exact same hdd(pinpointing exact elements and replacing them would be much harder and probably won't worth it). Well at least that variant will be something around 150$ for new same hdd or 1/3 of price for used one. All better than crazy 821$(more than 5 same drives could be bought with that sum, insane).
If what Rage suggesting isn't working - try that. Hope that helps.

do what I do once you get this data back. Once a month I back you all the files that are dear to me. I have my primary copy on my laptop. The back up on the external I use everyday for everything.  Then there thecopy on the external I just keep files on. I don't touch unless I update it. I done lost both my laptop and external because the frequent usage. That third is the life saver. And this device I posted is a must have for anyone.

I've done this before. Yeah, it must be same manufacturer and same model, but it's a bit risky.

I dismounted the HD (On the previous pic, you can see that is a HD plus a control board), so I removed the control board and pluggued it directly in my pc, using the sata cable and power cable from my DVD drive. Works like a charm.

Been working on him again. Saddly, I remembered I lost the most actual sff of him while I was beta testing FF3, so I had to include and remake all the gethit stuff (something I don't like).

I used one of Magma's wonderful edit to make a new super move. Works something like Sonic 3's Bubble Shield: its a bounce ball

It have the distortion/warp effect done by coding, so every time he hits the floor or the p2 he will squash a bit.

I got another idea for a win pose...

He generates a little geiser above him and starts to float above it...

...in some random probabilities... the geiser never rises, so Burst Man puts an "whut?" face. Then as a boom the geiser rises powerfully that launches the poor Burst Man offscreen. xDDDDDD

anyway guys, we have a split decision here and we need opinions:

Actually, Burtsman have Water wave, danger wrap and bubble wrap as powerset. But I think we need to have some moves outside powersets, as normal moves.

I plan to move one of those moves (or maybe both) outside the powerset, to be used as normal moves. So, we will have this questions:

- which move should be moved to normal move? Or do we move both moves?
- which moves we put on the powerset?

He already have Flash Bomb, Water Wave, Step Mine and Napalm Bomb. Magma suggested to have Ballade Cracker (Ballade) and Water Shield (Pump Man) .

Ballade Cracker is cool, but its too much close to Flash bomb to me. Water shield is a nice idea, but it will be a nightmare to code.

Any suggestions?

Not really, since Ballade Cracker don't generate a cluster explosion like Flash Bomb.

Don't just throw random suggestions. Burstman doesn't use missiles, rockets or whatever. Plus Water Wave already is on his powerset.

its was just a suggestion to speed up the process. The MM based characters to have sets and the RM not to have them.  But the idea was canned.

These are weapons I think could fit Burstman:

As for the Water baloon, you could use Aquaman's version instead of Megaman's.

He could project those orange bombs in some fashion. Toss them around like Cyrax. (this was inspire by the way he takes hit by a full charged mega buster.)

This one sounds like a good idea, and it makes complete sense. He would shot his small bombs, and they would detonate after a set time.

Finally some one is thinking right. (half way anyways.) Thats why i gave up up. because people just throw stuff on and the dont try and utilize the RMs own techniques.....

Thanks for staying with water since he's a water RM. water and bombs are the only type of weapons he should use.

Salt Water is done, but I choose the way Neptune does it, not the way Megaman uses it.

Burstman does a quick jump and, when he lands (with a splash fx), a bubble of water will drop from the sky, at random place. Each button makes him jumps higher, which makes the move slower, but makers more bubbles drops from the sly (max 3)

I can suggest an hyper where Burst Man summons a Toxic Giant Wave (NOT like Water Wave), and makes the opponent go to the next screen... and when is finished, Burst Man comes from offscreen of the other side of the screen.

In MM10 you press the button to get the shield then press the button again to make it shoot in all directions.  I only went through MM10 once unfortunately.

Thanks. Now the water bubbles hits the enemy if he touches it.

Bubble trap (dunno if the right name) is done. The bubble adapts itself to the enemy size.

Cool, but that's actually the Power Battle version of Bubble Man's Bubble Lead (which was also called Bubble Lead and not Bubble Trap).

I called Bubble Trap because bubble lead works different, and who knows why Capcom changed the move on Power Moves/Battle but not the name ^_^

Danger Wrap is almost done too.

in fact, the whole char is near to be conclused, something about 80%

Yes, he will have diagonal Bubble Wrap (Bubble Lead) and Danger wrap.
