Last time I got hit, I was without power for a couple weeks. It didn't help that some A-holes stole the electric company's genertators though. When my power came back on there was a power line down and my house caught on fire. Luckily it was put out before it did any real damage. It started under my stove next to a gas line. If I hadn't gotten up to check on my dog, it might not have turned out well.
