There are some more chars to show, but some surprise should be good :)

I'm working on this project to make small releases, adding 3 or 4 chars per release, so I can work on the project and it don't takes too long. Because if I wait to have many chars to release the game (like a friend of mine which posted on this topic, lol, when we will release and find any bugs, we will have too much work to do.

I like the choice of the characters, varied having icons of most of megaman series

As for now, I planned to have Sigma and Wily as CPU only. But, dunno about you guys, but I awalys wanted to play with them.

So, I think at least Sigma would be playable.

You can open Bombman or Elecman and use it as a template.

Non-canon means "not official" char.
Sharkman is from the Megaman DOS game, a non-official game.

Should I stick to 1280x720 resolution (the actual one), or should I change it to 640x360 (half of the actual size, but still widescreen)?

(I don't hate BN, but I couldn't disagree that parts of it is just awfull, like lame script and such, it's like oversimplified MM, though I like collecting games and that's a catch for me - chips)

me too, but I think is waste of space and ram, since I don't use HD sprites.

I've made a test now, and 2 of the problematic stages of this game (Frostman City and Night at Symphony City) has no more slowdowns, so I think I will modify it to 640x360 ( I won't use 480 because I don't want to redo everything).

Since I will need to modify the SP to find room to the big roster (almost 40 chars), I will remake many things to fit the new size, and with this I hope to reduce the file size to the half.

ahhh this is something i wanted to ask you too, is there a targeted file size on this game? i dont have much more room on my hard drives and all 3 of my usb disks are almost at capacity level. i want this game  and will be looking into getting  bigger GB disks. What i plan to do is have the bigger games on larger disks and the smaller ones on smaller ones in memory.  I have no clue to how big the CROM ABR project file size will exactly be, but i am already bettin its gonna be large by all the content even if i try to reduce the file size and scale things down.  :D

No, there is no rule about it.
Megaman and Bass MAYBE will use their "dogs", but the other won't have necessary a helper.

I'm doing this because some chars hasn't enough attacks, like Snakeman (which has just 2 attacks on the sheet)

and damn, I said I won't use guest chars which aren't related to this game, but this is amazing:

hum, I think it will be too much Megaman on the game (megaman, X, X with the Giga Armor).

How about sniper joe, but without the shield, so he could use any weapon he wants to?

I need to rework on some parts of this, because I decided to reduce the screen size from 1280 to 640.

heheheh yeah, the move is pretty cool

Jhfer is helping me a lot on this. Some of the new ideas is this:

Something that I have a big doubt is: should I keep the animated select screen (where the chars have animated stances) or should I go for something non animated, with a log of every original game.

The first option is cooler, but its harder to do (and since I changed the resolution, I will need to redo it). The second version is easier to do, and I like the game logo idea

Hm, well not having the animated stances does sound easier as far as workload goes. Maybe have them in a pose with the origin below the character?

Yes, that is my idea too.

This is the problem:

Using static images
PROS- It would speed the things A LOT
    - I would use a image of the actual char on a pose, plus a logo of the original game (something close of what I did to Battle Stormer Classics)
    - Freedom to arrange and/or group the chars by games

CONS - I lost what is more unique on the select screen


Using animated stances
PROS - Very unique, makes it different than a normal mugen game
CONS - I need to remake it from the scratch
     - Its a pain in the butt to make, takes too much time.
     - For every char which comes in, I need to redo the process


TO counter a possible loss of the animated stances, I will introduce the same style of Megaman intro, where the enemies jump in and make a pose, with the classic background, before the fight (I already coded that). Then, they could make their intro and fight, or goes to fight withou any specific intro, which could help me to speed the process.

Almost one year after the last post, here I am.

Please ignore some errors on the video, like the win quote, the big fonts at the player 2. I haven't touched this game for ages and I changed its resolution, so many things are out of place. Zero isn't coded yet.

There is a small chance of this project to be moved to OpenBOR engine, but I don't know yet.

I started this project in 2011 and, unfortunately, I never had time to work on it again. It's a project I like a lot, both for the sprites and for some points that were not common in games made in Mugen (I mean full games, not compilations) like vertical life bar and selection screen with animated characters.

I decided to lower the resolution of the game, and with that, several things needed to be corrected. This, together with my lack of free time, made me suspend the project. I plan to one day continue this. But I do not have a fixed date.

Comecei este projeto em 2011 e, infelizmente, nunca mais tive tempo para trabalhar nele. É um projeto que eu gosto muito, tanto pelos sprites quanto por alguns pontos que não eram comuns em jogos feitos em Mugen (me refiro à jogos completos, não compilações), como barra de vida na vertical e tela de seleção com personagens animados.

Decidi diminuir a resolução do jogo e, com isso, várias coisas precisavam ser corrigidas. Isso, aliado a minha falta de tempo livre, me fizeram suspender o projeto. Tenho planos de, um dia, continuar isso. Mas não tenho uma data fixa.

This has too much potential to let die. As for the animated stance factor vs. the sill stance factor, go for animated.
