It took a while, but I think I finally got a decent idea for the controls, concerning X's multple angle buster shots:

Multiple Angle Buster Shots:
Press Z: Diagonal Up Buster Shot
Hold Forward+Z: Forward Buster Shot
Hold Back+Z: Vertical Buster Shot

Charge Buster:
Hold Z (2-3 seconds and it begins charging the buster): Charge Buster
Press Z: Release charged buster shot

We could do that and I thought about that, but then I was like, there won't be room for his basic attacks then.

I want his basics to include:
3 different angle buster shots (standing)
3 different punches (standing)
3 different kicks (standing)

Ideas Basics For Standing & Dashing Controls:
Press z, z, z: Rapid Fire Buster Shot
Hold z (some seconds worth of time): Charge Buster
Press z (release quickly): Diagonal Buster Shot

F, F, z: Dash Buster Shot

Z Saber: Alternate attacks when basics can't reach, the Z Saber moves will be used in place of basic punches and kicks

That's just a suggestion if you decide to go back and edit the sprites.

I'll do a quick revamp of standing idle and see what it looks like. If I like it, I'll fix the rest of the sheet.

Just a few notes? No offense, but his gameplay sounds a bit off, dude.

I think you may have misunderstood me on the angle shots. Map the angle shot to be a special attack, is what I meant. DP means [f,d,df+p.] You could have his HP [z] be a buster shot. Tap for a normal shot, which can be rapid fired three times before cooldown. Elsewise, it could be charged. [f,d,df+LP/MP/HP] produces the  three angled shots.

That way you have LP, MP, HP [shot, rapid or charge] and LK, MK, HK as basics, with the angle shots mapped to a special attack. They could even shoot a charged shot automatically that way, which'd make them a ton more useful.

Being able to shoot while dashing is true to the X series and a neat idea. Any other dash attacks are, again, an odd idea. Most other characters in MvC style and in RMM won't have this. It's unnecessary.

A single throw command, usually LP+LK [x+a] is standard. Back+LP+LK can produce an alternate. 4 throws is like... smash bros. style or something, and excessive.

The Z-Saber is great and all, but having him automatically gain ranged normals when they play keep away would break him. That's too good. Again, map it to a special. QCF+K = z-saber. Make it like a rekka, maybe? QCF+Kx1 = a horizontal slash, then again for an overhead, then again for a zantetsu-like uppercut. Or maybe even an lk/mk/hk for different swipes deal. Either or.

His sprites are looking excellent, it'd be a shame if his gameplay was all weird because then he'd stick out on most MVC styled rosters like a sore thumb. Not saying that I'm the do-all end-all, but it'd be great if you consider my ideas here or something like them.

I think I understand it better now. This sounds smooth.

The basic Z saber attacks as alternate would barely cover more distance than the basic punches and kicks. So I doubt that would make him broken. The special Z Saber attacks would be the ones covering distance.

Can I give my opinion?

His right (our left) legs moves ona a strange way. It don't need to spin (its spinning over its own axis), just to bend foward.

The way his torso moves gives me a illusion that he is shrinking and streching. Specially because his torso bends foward very much while his left (our right) leg don't.

daraku has joined the sprite team as our GFX guy. He'll be handling effects for our MVC Megaman X. He'll be spriting the effects in CVS style. It should look really good when he's done. I currently don't have any examples of his work for you guys. Maybe he'll post it when he has some. :)

All the serious stuff will be implemented first. After that, since it's open source, people can make patches and such and have some funny custom intros if they like. :)
