Im tired of the us agent that only has a pal change so I decided to make one by myself.
here's some screenies.

PD heres some of the attacks he will have.

I like most of him except his shield.

I think you should do the version of us agent that had an energy shield... (so as to not look like a cap clone)

The energy sheld was produced by his gauntlets and instead of throwing his shield he did an energy burst.
If you did this, that means you wont have to worry about the code to have a sheild loose, also you would still be able to do the charging star.

And with that you could also improvize a few new moves based on the energy producing gauntlents.

Ever see the Bable II OAV? The main character has an attack where he grabs someone with one hand (usualy at the wrists but with John Walker's agressive personality he should grab him by the neck)
And the enemy would be envolped in this big energy flame that caused allot of pain and screaming...

If you go to the energy gauntlet rout he should have this move, it would be cool
And it would help set him apart form captian america

well.. the idea is nice and all.. but you pretty much doing what you don't like about the other one.. you just changed his chest and made the shield look badly done, you said you didn't want just a pal swap but thats pretty much what this is. you should change his pose and attacks don't add the captain america ones good luck on him though

The logo on his chest looks flat. Add some shading in that area.

but from what i remember, U.S Agent's version was pinkish and not the cap colored energy one like in the pic...

It looked like he was already trying to do that (just look at the select portrate)

Anyhoo i would also suggest using a lil more purple in the shade to help him look more like the image

(keeping the lighter color the gray you have there but making the second lightest and/or third lightest a shade of purple

I know the image has no appeaence of purple but it might help make it look simular, being a dark color.

I say go for the energy shield. It'll be easier to code since you don't have to worry about the losing shield code (at least I think it's easier). And more attack options and super moves.

Contrary to what some of the others here have said, I think you should keep the metal shield, though you should lose the star on it; currently, in the comics, he has a shield with a simple black circle in the middle, which works well, visually.

If you intend to re-work any of the voice or mannerisms of the character, it might be interesting to go to the original idea behind the character. He was created during the Ronald Reagan/Bush 1 era, and was an answer to the right-wing jingoism of the time; he was kind of meant as a satire of the extreme right-wing nut-jobs who were the most enthusiastic supporters of those administrations (and needless to say, he fits right in with the times today). You could create some really fun dialogue for him along these lines.

Yeah there we go! Thats awsome, most people wont realize thats the same character but it is.
I think this is a great rout to go and im looking forward to it

What the hell is the difference between MvC2 style and regular MvC style?!

MvC2 has:

Snapback
Different effects
4 buttons to attack, 2 buttons for assists:
Assists are HP, and HK
MP and MK, are now HP, and HK


Different sound effects
different assist types
The ability to be able to punch an opponent off screen and have their teammate jump in afterwards.

This is great.  Even if he turns out to be not much more than a costume change, I like it.  I'm sick of looking at my black suited Captain America re-named to US Agent, so this is a welcome change.  I like your first version, except there was something wrong with the shield (Which has been pointed out already, so I'll leave it at that).  I really like what you have going now.  I can imagine some cool afterimage effects with the shield attacks.  Please keep us posted on this.

I gotta say, just viewing those few pics, I'm highly anticipating this character.  Keep up the great work.

The only shield cap has used so far in fighting games is the clasic one.
Which is why this one is perfict with the energy one!

Remember what i said before about the attack were he could grab the enemy by the neck or something and do this neato energy attack, like form the anime Babel II

Thats if he were going with that verson of US Agent, which would end up being a slightly edited version of cap.
So as to have his creation stand out he's going with the time when the Agent had the energy shield

im trying to make sure it wont ill put a lot of effort on the new attacks to make them completely different from original ones.
