DekaMaster/Doggie Kruger

Hello everyone, and welcome back ^_^. For the time being, I've decided to mostly focus on DekaMaster. Don't worry, I still will work on Tifa (and Shiron) when I find the time--I just need a break from FF7 spriting, having just come from Aeris.

Here's some images of what I've done so far:




I have several ideas of what to utalize in Kruger in order to make him as well-rounded as possible, due to 50 episodes of DekaRanger source material.  Here's what's planned:
All Basics (I hope to make sure he has a combo system)
Supers: -Vega Slash
            -Vega Impulse
            -Vega Tornado Slash
Specials:
          -Vega Sword sniper gun (See the Dekaranger movie to see this)
          -Morph back to normal/blaster shoot
Striker: Murphy (The robot dog), possibly some of the rangers
Voice from the show
Intro- Doggie Kruger to DekaMaster
        -Half morphed "face on" intro

I'm, also expermenting with the idea of a level 3 super of Vega Slash that would instantly kill the enemy. But this would have a twist..I'm thinking of making it so Kruger can "judge" the opponent...maybe an red x and a green o will be on the screen and the engine will randomly pick between the two. Then, if it lands on red.... the opponent will be instantly ko'd by Vega Slash. If the green o appears, then Kruger returns to stance. This move is just an idea for now, but I'm hoping to make it work somehow.

Hayato makes an excellent basis for Kruger-- his stance seems to work well, and I see many of DekaMaster's movement potential in the sprite set. The only thing I have to so is eleongate certain parts--this is in order to make sure the anatomy is more as per the source. (I had to do this with WereGarurumon from his sprite basis, only I shortened rather than elongated parts).

it looks cool but the colors are somewhat strange tho ???

He looks great, fantastic use of Hayato's sprites (seems he's a poplar choice for a base ;D although that's probably because he's one of the only characters not from a Samurai-type game who uses a sword...).

I believe this is another WIP I shall have to follow. May good fortune go with you in making your new character. :)

Oops! I apologize for the confusion. DekaMaster is from the Japanese sentai series Dekaranger. He was called "Shadow Ranger" in the English version "Power Rangers S.P.D." I tend to perfer the original DekaRanger though, which had about double the episodes as SPD did.

Here's a video I found on YouTube that might be able to introduce you to the character fairly well. From the Dekaranger Episode 13 "High Noon Dogfight"--

I am absolutely amazed at your sprite work and how you already have everything planned out!
That is one seriously well done and well detailed sprite that I see in that screenshot, and I have to say, you cannot stop astounding me!

I wish you much luck with this character, for it already looks outstanding!

Wow, just.. wow.

as for the lvl 3 Vega slash... the idea in place DOES sound like the Judgement scan they do in SPD/DekaRanger and would work rather well in reducing it's cheapness*Though, I think some characters should have a higher/lower chance of getting the X*
As for a Combo system... I don't know why, but I think the DarkStalker system of Chain combos would work for him.

Can't wait for more progress on Doggie ^^, he's one of my fav PR/Sentai characters.

J_Knight, that comment about the X and O with certain characters is really interesting. It would definitley be something I'd have to look into once I get that far. For instance, I wouldn't think Aeris (with her purity) would often get the clearance for delete.

He's my favorute Sentai char too  ;)

The next thing I plan on spriting in the next coming days is the walk and crouch animations. I'll keep you all in the loop on my progress as I commense.  :)

Wow, Dekamaster for MUGEN.
As expected from u TGM, the sprites look great.
So u chose hayato's stance 4 Dekabreak, fits perfectly.

Wish u good luck on this project, cant wait to see it in action  ;D

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking about doing for both. (Of course I'll probably have an alternate DekaMaster "Got You! winpose as well.... ;D) We're on the same exact page it seems. ;)

Doggie is a bit different for me..as I have tons of ideas for winposes, taunt, intros.. a lot of the extra stuff. For some of my earlier edits, I had a real hard time coming up with animations I wanted to add. This certainly has the potential to come out as a large project. I just need to make sure to keep it on track. :)

Why don't you do it like POTS's Evil Ryu/Shin Gouki SGS (villains are more likely to get an X than heroes)
