Title: C.R.O.M. The Game! World Heroes United!

This is the second project from the CROM peeps and friends from around. ABR is still in works and progress in the lab. I am also making sure everything is a go and been told by Openbor lead coder /programmer Malik  that all is good and a go!

CROM The Game!

 The year is 2012  and a rogue group of evil scum has surfaced to take over the world. Led by a mysterious figure and backed by wealthy underworld sydicates they plan to take over the world. They have made their presence known throughout the world taking over small and large countries areas and have established themselves in various locations across the globe. The world is under threat and a secret call goes out and only the C.R.O.M. Brotherhood and friends answers the call. Each member gifted with unique skills and abilities  have come together to take on this vile threat. Who is this mysterious leader that strikes fear upon the world ? Who can stop them? Only the C.R.O.M can! When you mess with one you mess with all of The C.R.O.M. Brotherhood! Suit up, gear up and fight on! Hail C.R.O.M.!

Basic combo moves ( series of punches and kicks  or how you want your character combo to look but must contain first button press hit frame and combo chaing frames when p1 makes contact only with p2 to start chaining the combo moves. 5 to 6 hit combo sequence)
walk
dash/run ( your choice)
Throw ( grapple move)
pickup item crouch sprite ( health)
jump
jump attack
special moves ( 3 ...1 melee)
get hit sprites
fall down sprites
Summon Booster sprites

CROM Booster move is an enemy clearing move ( only if you are spriting a CROM Booster character from the team that are not playable)

Stages and levels

Another feature i want to have implemented in the game is 1 players is player 1 and can pick an AI partner to tag along  with each being able to select 1 booster character per person. So you will pick a Booster character for yourself and your AI partners Booster as well.

Will be posting some of the various Playable characters that are made so far in sprites and Booster Characters as well with who is actually who. i will be working on 2 playable characters and 3 booster characters and sprite some enemies as i go. Anyone who wants to help out making enemy characters hit me up.

 here is so far the details in who so far has their basic look of there characters for the game. Playable characters and Boosters characters.

sure bro Ralph you can be a Booster bro. since your doing your own character just keep in mind your area enemy damage move and come up with something cool. Most the characters we are having in the game are based on our self and or online personas. Like Glux has the Castle Crashers look and will use the Infinity Sword that has lightining area effect when he is called out and his short sword transforms when he raises it and says "Infinityyyyyy Swoooord! something like that. lol .
We do need some bars made up as well a cool screenpack maker for the project that can have what i think would be cool with having a character selection for the playable and when selected then you get to chose the 1 Booster for your character and you can select the Booster for your AI partner.

I have been tinkering with a Level boss idea in a sprite. some will be big and others hard normal size-ish. The end boss will be ...Large!  >:D . The main objective is to get from the start point and get to the final stage before moving on. at the end of each level to clear it you must storm the Enemy Bases to fight the level boss.

This is the idea i am having for the Norway stage boss. Militaristic of sorts for the end boss. but way much more work is being done  so not final product, just a sample . needs more details as i get the concept of his look and how he will try to fight against you.

Yeah.

Don't know if we mentioned it here, but if anyone wants to be in the game, from a booster character to a background cameo, let me or Lando know. The title may be CROM, but the game is a tribute to the Mugen community as a whole.

Also, should this be elsewhere? It's not a Mugen WIP, it's an Openbor WIP.

:D yeah i know. lol. i did that awhile back when i started the sprite . i havent updated the sprite yet. i am gonna actually fix the position of the hand to be upright so i can redraw the small sword and do the animation to turn it into the big Infinity Sword.

@ Enso..i know what ya mean . lol. actually gaudemus is gonna be far much taller and a more so fire being more than solid if i can nail the fx right in making him. maybe it will be me or someone else that sprites him.

@ Rage-  :D....well if you mean your sprite i actually do have one pre version before all the details  , he red with tights on. lol. actually i dont know if the red dude you use in your pic is Godlike red like that or wears pants cause all i got is just top portions so i improvised on the Godhood. ^:)^.   but yeah i added the Infinity Dagger in glux hand when i was trying to make one but imma redo the whole hand in a better position and redo the Dagger too.

@ Axel foley- bro that picture is beyond awesome bro! i see where i actually could use Guile foreal too for the Norwegian boss dude. I can crop his hair a bit more like your picture you drew. yeah plans for him are def rolling , i wanna add a Norway Flag on his arm like Guile has the USA flag, but it will be on just one arm. Belt with bullets holstered  and some other details. hey man any ideas you got definetly share them and see how to get the first boss popping right in his look.  i will be animating my character soon too , its my day off so on my days off i will be on both projects. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Sure you can be in Acey as a Booster move. uhhh i dont have a sprite of Apollo justice ( you wanna make your character and move? lol) and i could tho for whatever cool move you come up with the animations i can find some cool fx for it . depending on what it is, cause Glux is using the Infinity Sword ...wait...you could too just with a different fx . hmm since he does the point thing something funny as heck can be done with that aside from being a Phoenix Wright type move . like when he points a huge hammer hits the group and knocks down all enemies. hmmmmm. lol

@ hypersonic - thanx man , this will be the first project out the gate from us then AB since its alot more to ABR and more people working on this project.

@ Rage....that has to be the most hilarious move! lmao. Flex abs and flamethrower fire shoots in all directions as he flexes in different positions..  :D :D...Godlike Rage!  :D

hahahah i found some gavels and hammers online and thought i just do a quick lil edit,. it needs work but ehh might be a cool idea to use for a Booster move i was sayin earlier.

Oh. That could be a fusion between Pyron and Huitzil as a booster. No lower body part, but a transformation of anything including a rocket, sword, anchor, vehicle, flame sprayer :D, ship/boat, robot, etc. :O*D

Lando. What's a booster and what is it for? Isn't like the NPC (non-playable char) or something?

@ lando

The boosters could work like the assist in "maximal carnage" the video game. You find the booster icons hidden through our the stages. They can do many things besides attack. Some heal, protect, give objects like weapons, etc. some could even make routes through the stage easy to pass. Like creating a bridge like ice man does in x men one for sega genesis. Our some can lift you (Jean, x-men 1) to platforms that lead to alternate routes in the game. Maybe leading to a different outcome, different ending?.

A Booster is a character in game that yes isnt playable. The Booster is an enemy area damage character that when called out comes in and does an area effect move that can either kill lesser enemies and dish out great deal of damage to higher teir ones like harder enemies and bosses. what i think we will do is clarify the different Boosters by Team Affiliation. There will be CROM Boosters, Infinity Boosters and so on for those who do wanna be in game as those NPC's. only playable characters in game are CROM Members who want to be either that or can be a Booster only. Like Shadaloo has said , this is a project to give a tribute not to just us but the community we all come from since many of us are from various spots. :thumbsup:

edit: i like that idea Rage! well i dont know on too much more implemention we gonna have in the game to keep production on it at a cool pace. we do have a few ideas for like health icons and such but to get those different pathways and such, need more stage makers. and plus to see if our bor coder can handle all that as well. lol dont worry my friend i still got the original body in tact too.  i was looking closer at the pic and saw what you said about the bottom half being fire. lol.

hey those are actually some great ideas you have. thinkin can even use people from around as Icons for for those Boosters. So maybe can have a Main Boosters that is your standards and an Icon Boosters for others that wanna be Boosters . many ways to play around with that. Great idea Rage. :thumbsup:

I've always wanted to be a playable character ever since I played BurnKingdom and it inspired me to give me ideas for making a story of myself. But since I played it, I never made a character of myself until you opened this thread. I will post up my wips in CROM when I have time.

 :D my first day off after working 6 nights straight. lol. i have off friday night as well. I got 7 hours of sleep so i am rested and will be getting some more hours of sleep later.  :thumbsup:

Cool! well which kind of Booster would you like to be? a Area Effect Booster for enemy damage or a power up Icon Booster? If your going to be an Area effect booster we definetly will come up with a cool  area damage type, any ideas bro?.  and if an Icon Powerup have to come up with you as what you would do like grant armor for a few seconds.

no problem bro ralph. i know you gonna come up with something pretty dang cool too. lol.

well i did some editing work for life bars.  this is just a mockup for now but coming along solid. V-nix did some custom lifebars awhile back for the ABR project and then remade  them even better. so i am using the original ones he dished off to me before he ever released his open ones to all.   so far this is what i got with the editing on them:

the left side will feature player characters with their main Booster character with fillup gauge and small port. Right side is reserved for all enemy characters . i wanna see if i can get with my bros shadaloo and lead bor coder on the project Malik on the Rage thought with the icons Booster for powerups . maybe can have 3 smaller slots to hold those icon boosters and maybe can use it when you want to. so at one time you will always have your main Booster and then have access to only hold 3 Booster Powerups. When Malik gets to see this and or i get to chat with him we can see how much more doable this idea can be to become a mainstay for the game.  :thumbsup:

well here is a sprite edit that Volzilla gave us to use him in the game and as Shadaloo lives came up with the interesting idea  ( an awesome one at that ! kudos bro!)  so here is the animation i done so far for CVG reporter Volzzilla layin the details of the news intel on next mission in the game. what the plan shadaloo has is for him to be the reporter before every new mission he briefs you in on the latest findings and location. I will add much more frames to it for the dialog for him to be saying on the next missions.

and to add here is one of the new peeps added with a playable character Veronika, a CROM Vixen. thinkin she will be a follow round character with manolostyle and can be used in one of his melee attacks i am tinkering with in idea.   she gonna get a few more fixes that manolo pointed out for me to do as well. >:D ::salute::

well this is my fighting stance pose. still refining a few touchups here and there and especially for the walk , start punch and combo animation i am lacing so my guns holster with guns will look kinda cool. yeah thats the number one thing i am tweaking right now, but i do have a big a$$ head.  :D
if i shrink it just a lil too much then its smaller than my regular sprite i made of myself earlier. but i am still in the lab on it.  :thumbsup:

@ Enso-  :DxDie  man i almost did ruin it. lol. actually ralph suggestion did make it alot more realistic after i done it.  but i aint going any smaller . i trimmed it down a pixel on the edges. to round it off just a tad cause my head isnt completely round or completely bald ..right now.  thats why i have the extra edit with me with hair. lol. so big thanx on ralph for the feedback to correct it. heyyy i aint got no dummy head dude! \-/o :D :-j

Axel that is tight as hell right there! i dang sure can make the sprite closer to that drawing with the belt, fix the hair a bit more and add the gloves too ( actually i did a sprite earlier with him with gloves on but took them off and he was shirtless. lol) with the arm bandana. i also gonna put the Norway flag on one of his arms.  >:D

now i got another sprite to edit some more . lol. Plus Lando intro before going on the stage mission involve me riding my CROM Ninja race bike to the location and parks it.. or it will be like a Ducati or modified version with CROM on the side. :thumbsup:

edit. this is my bike i made that i will ride to each new location. my intro basically. i pull up and hop off and start my rolling through the stages. still adding more details and fixing shadings ( mostly on those tires)to it as well and will have a animated pic of me riding it.

lol cool redo on my head man. i look older tho but my beard is cut now like thati real life with a lil thinner than when i had it thicker. but still i like it  :thumbsup:. the jacket tho looks more clothy and not like my leather-ish biker jacket with the transitional color crinkles but def cool bro.  8)

Sure bro! no problem. you can be a Booster Character for IMT. we are taking 5 Boosters for to represent IMT. Boosters are characters that come in and do area damage. sorta like saying its a hyper move in mugen regards. lol.  I am currently making a mockup character select screen with the selection box style ( might get a even cooler bro to lend me a box style to add in) and dish it off to the graphics affiliate team to really spice it up graphically.

I just done Demonkai character for the game in sprite base to roll with for his moves. i made 2 different versions ( only slight facial hair editing to choose from ) and based it on his ideas. i used Terry as a base for the Awakened Terry persona and colors scheme to represent one of his fav nostalgia characters from Peacekeepers game. He will have some revised moves for special moves from his Awakened Terry he is finishing up.

i as well doing Glux character sprite to adjust the hand position and later add the Infinity Sword Booster move animation. I need some really cool lightnings area fx. Rage will be the next Booster i will work on for Rage Booster animation.

I done my first punch animation test and will post it when i align it right so to see if it looks really better cause i have a slight off alignment on it. Next will be my complete combo move after punch is connected in sequence. Then my walk, get hits and knock downs sprites and frames. not too hard at all.  :thumbsup:


oh.. there will be an extra at the end of the credits too. could be some vid previews of ABR, Monet St Croix and other CROM Member projects and Affiliates. ;)

yup. as a booster you dont need alot of sprites at all. just enough to make the animation smooth and of course a cool area effect move and fx. when you done your character first base sprite i can post it under the Boosters for IMT. :thumbsup: welcome aboard  CROM The Game bro as a Booster. should be very fun. Mostly we are asking for self sprites or persona sprites of your character to represent you ( like Glux and Rage characters for example on first page as a persona sprites.::salute::

Danownsall did a cool edit on him as well. i liked the head ( much better than my head i done on my self sprite and now i can do it cool too thanks Dan) but i kept my jacket. so i switched out heads and did the glasses more suited. just a slight pixel removed.  I have a stripe on my jacket like that , i dont wanna change it yall, then that takes it away from being ...me. ya know. actually those stripes on the arms are pretty cool but i dont have those on my jacket. lol . might use it tho. and i like my jacket like it is. but i do like the length as well. I like both gloves colors and i have red leather biker gloves and i do have black ones, so imma have to pick , but i like my red ones :'( ! I AM KEEPING MY DANG SHADES YALL! \-/o !  those boot colors i like but i have light brown boots and i do have a pair of chocolate Timberlands but i wouldnt wear them unless i am going out with the ladies dressed up. lol ....oh and Jayden is in the game as a Booster bro. lol. already talked to UBS already about it and got a move worked out for him for it.  :thumbsup:


i wouldnt go messing with other peoples stuff tho bro Axel, they making their own self characters their way in the style chose but it has alot of freedom for their own creativity. You would have to ask them, not me. I am only doing certain characters beside my self sprite. I would definetly tho love the collab effort on a few of those tho and the Norweigian. you got a cool drawing of him that could and will be put to good use. I even tried a week ago to get that hair shaped like that in the picture. i have to redo it cause i didnt have time to finish , had to go to work. Definetly tho some cool @$$ touchups made to my self sprite you and Dan. I am KEEPING MY SHADES!!! and my holsters, i know how to do them. i like your edit more lando. to me its feels more like a real person. your jacket is better too. Axel sprites is good but it seems more like a polished video game character to me. which is not a bad thing. the jacket isn;t as good as landos' tho.

Both Dan and Axel did great touchup versions in their way. somethin for me to keep in mind with especially my head a bit. i dont want it to be too Kyo like in the head tho. I updated the first post with more info on the Boosters. Doom has been added as a CROM Booster ( need our own fonts for that like the others... need a CROM LOGO! :D) and Jayden and Magma Dragoon sprites have been added as well to their repective teams. Doom Booster move has the animation for it and will be getting finished and looking for a cool Fx to go with an idea for it as well for the Rush Of Doom move.  :thumbsup: ::salute::

Nahhh m it cool tho man for the offer of help,  i been already tinkering around with just a small changeup in the hand ,arm postions. I like the Kyo stance but yeah imma rework it just a tad. plus, i wont be in that stance pose long anyway. lol. I wanted to show off some progress a bit on this Booster for Magma Dragoon. i edited his character to have the side door come down after he called out to come and do his area move and thinking of either his tank has a launcher come out and fire a round in the air and missle scatters come down and exlode on the ground , or a single missile launches out into the air and same thing happens with scatter shot grenades. something cool like that. lol. Let me know what ya think.

That sounds cool to me bro! if Dan is in then thats even better. very good artist as well. 2 versions would be cool and we pick which to use or even someone could make cronie versions of this guy who is a stage boss or could be used as a cronie for a stage and then come up with a boss character from him of sorts.
Dfalcon gave permission to edit these into the project.

well before i take a nap before i have to go to work. i did a lil sprite of a C.R.O.M. that will be a playable character in the game. I figure why have a cool side scroll beat em up without a gorgeous fighting babe in it? so i went for a cool brazilian look ,Since I have a cool old friend and she originally from there and yes she is beautiful in ever aspect of the word from head to toe. ^:)^ I decided to do a sprite of her , i asked if she didnt mind. lol. of course Lando got the thumbs up. lots of love for my home girl. =P~. i have a few lil details and spots on her i wanna fix up better. So i chose some different hair colors i have seen her with throughout the 20 so years we have known each other. might have to add her tats as well.she has some on her cheeks too , so yeah def have to keep these shorts for the turn arounds. hehehehe. >:D

:o wow man , thats good dang news bro! :thumbsup: .  well as far as i know its part of the characters concept he done. The only way i think it would be vital is if he uses it in attacks somehow. So you having issues spriting the hook/claw thingy? hmmmm, i would either do one of 2 things:
1. find a sprite character that has a sorta claw like that and edit it a bit. ( try some samurai showdown sprite from here in the packs if possible)
2. scratch sprite that sucker best as could be .  ;D

i can ask the guy who made the microart formof himto see if that hook is vital to the character or if we can just work around it. i would take a shot at making it once i see the sprite so i can see how he is positioned to edit it in.

ahhh i see now. good good. hmmm i can take a crack and finish em up a bit with a jacket and tie, plus imma take a shot ( if you dont figure out how to make the claw before i do  >:D) and add a claw on the big guy. looks like a leader type as well with height. the cpu i use to sprite with is down right now but when it gets back top being up soon i will go ahead and do some work on him too. good job bro. that glove is pretty neat. imma take his hand out his pocket and put the hook on it. :thumbsup:


@ Hypersonic - well Boosters are area effect damage characters only. i posted earlier in the thread on how they function i believe. They are called out after gauge is filled and will come out and do a move that effects enemies in the area.  every character gets to have 1 booster at all times but only can be called out when a Booster gauge is filled. the gauge is on the life bars i made up on earlier page too. right under playable characters name. plus you get to select one AI partner and you can select his Booster character as well if the coder Malik says that is all doable like that for an ai partner.

There are several Boosters characters from different sites, cvg only has spooky ( needs sprite) and volzzilla as new reporter ( volzzilla sprite already posted here and cvg to see with slight animation) and spooky wanted to drop in Icon powerups like health and stuff. but i think can add them in for a booster move since they will be in a CVG helichopter and use that for a Booster move. I think 2 more people have signed up to be Boosters as well from cvg which is Dfalcon and i think a cool bro named Heka might as well. we need at least 5 to represent each community site.

 Imt has Magma Dragoon and Rage( is up to Rage on that) plus Magma Dragoon which sprite is gettin laced with its finishing touches for the animation, i got the missles and have to think of a cool way to add it in maybe with a launch coming out the side to fire it and Rage i have a few fx sprites for the character already buit have to decide how the Booster will be in all. but plenty of people are welcome to sign up to represent the site here and cvg as well as others we all frequent. 5 for each if you have 5. IFF crew are in and have skeletor ex as a Booster and Jayden ( Ultimatebiospark self character) are in and i just need Infinites a character sprite for his. Jayden and skeletor Booster effect move are already thought out and i already started on jayden"s and just got skeletor ex sprite .

so if you want to be a Booster, Hypersonic just let us know who you would represent for what site crew and can even hookup your own self /persona sprite.. :thumbsup:

The whole CVS Yamazaki base for Ragdoll is not a good base in my opinion. Why not grab Rugal or Eagle for legs and Terry/Rugal for jacket maybe similar to my Scar I guess? If you want to use my Scar to edit for Ragdoll, you are welcome to use my edit(s) except my self sprite unless you ask me for what reason. It's a nice one though. ;)

hmmm well hmmmmm, thinkin about it myself, Yamazaki isnt a "bad" base to use cause would still have to edit any of the characters you said as well Enso,. but i will agree indeed Eagle base would be a cool matchup. Rugal , for the jacket, ehh just make one for the guy. Eagle would do just as nice. The character isnt going to be full out in 256 animations anyway, its openbor and with a very slim requirement of movesets. so comboing bases wouldnt be a bad thing either. But terry i wouldnt use. but yeah Eagle , and even still Yamazaki cause he looks menacing as is in the face. lol. Yamazaki/Eagle combo would and could be good depending on how he is made with them. This is a boss character . The hook will still be the thing to sprite but i think it can be done well.  ::salute::

I whiped this up back in Apoc was making his pokemon trainer. The idea of the attack is that I spin around, shooting my psycho-webbombs everywhere. They explode then trap enemys. But if u want to use it, it doesnt have to be that strong

sup brop Hpersonic. wel;l it can be either or really. the only thing is yes it shouldn't look like an actual already characer  like a whole marvel cyclops for example but could have a variation of his outfit with RL head or something with tweaked features to represent you as either self ( like me, Coryru and others) or  avatar personas ( like Glux, Rage and Magma Dragoon sprites posted on first page as well) with something that can best represent you being....you. lol.  My spriting cpu has crashed and burned and i am now shopping around for a new one. sup brop Hpersonic. wel;l it can be either or really. the only thing is yes it shouldn't look like an actual already characer  like a whole marvel cyclops for example but could have a variation of his outfit with RL head or something with tweaked features to represent you as either self ( like me, Coryru and others) or  avatar personas ( like Glux, Rage and Magma Dragoon sprites posted on first page as well) with something that can best represent you being....you. lol.  My spriting cpu has crashed and burned and i am now shopping around for a new one. This is just a tad I made for Ragdoll. Lando told me I should sprite it out and I did. This is not a very complete look but to get a good start on it. Mine may not be the best especially the hook and the face but did try out. The only thing I'm a little happy/sad about is his face. But it's okay. I did as I could. Any C.R.O.M. member can edit my sprite whatever he/she wants. I don't mind. Can correct my sprite.

Body parts:
Head - CVS Sagat
Nose - Yamazaki
Upper body - Rugal
Lower body - Eagle
Hook/Right hand - One of Rolento's men's hook

i see what you done too with that sprite. cool stab at it man. each has its own look but definetly wanna nail Dfalcon sprite some really cool justice with the suit. you have a good idea with that hook too but it definetly will need some cool reworking. i wouldnt worry about putting on a certain nose, you can always edit it from the head the way it could look.  you both have cool sprite versions and some parts are cool and others have to be edited a bit more. I can't wait to get my new cpu so i can jump in on this and get back to spriting as well. I will help out and see what i can do to help out bro's. :thumbsup:

Oh. Sorry about it. I didn't know what to say about what you said to me about Ragdoll.

Yeah. For the hook, I'm not really shading on it. Also, the head kinda looks big to me so I don't know what kind of head you'd suggest. Oh, I forgot to remove the scar on his right temple. As I said, one of us CROM can edit mine if they like. Otherwise, I'd do it. Spriting gloves to bare hands is always hard. That's where I'm struggling at.

gawd i cant sprite on this cpu ! it freakin sucks! well i looked at both sprites you and axel done and did a very rough draft fusion. if my old pc was working or i had my new one i could have hooked this up far better. but this is the concept i came up with using both sprites as the base. simple and just needs proper editing and shadingh more. i guess you will get the idea on which part to which.

nahhh , the cpu i am on is someone elses and i cant put none of that stuff on this one. not allowed should i say. lolo. the other one was fully loaded!  there is no kind of editor on this thing. the bare bones cpu requirements and mostly its for my moms school work.  i just come over to be....net freeloader till i get me a new one. lol. I saw an arcade CPU one with alot of GB and really plays games very well.  But the only game i would play on it is ...mugen and Bor stuff. lol.  so i am factoring alot in my decision. maybe by next weekend i will have it. :thumbsup:  i feel ..naked not spriting! ~X( :'( :'(

Does this work? It's basically Rugal's entire body and Yamazaki's head.

I left the gloves on because I'm not sure which hand should have the hook. Though it does look like it'll be easier with the left.  :-??

Its been awhile since posted on here about the project  which we may get a public demo rolling in sometime.
The Demo Idea:
3 or 4 playabel characters
5 boosters ( 4 are done in  sprite sheets)
1 area stage
3 or 4 enemy types and one sub boss for the stage.

i started awhile back redesigning a couple boosters and including redone my Lando self sprite character. I should be finished for the public demo .  :D :thumbsup:

Here is the early preview of redone Rage persona in the partial sprite frame for an area damage effect that Rage insisted on long ago. I have to figure out how to do the lower half and set in place the other 4 frames of animation for the Ab s booster area effect.  maybe spin around and fire either flamethrower like fire or shoot out fireballs. Its up to Rage on that and what to implement. Spidermew, Magma Dragoon, Rage and Doom ( G- Lux may be finished for it as well with Nx Men and Alan Joestar..his sheet is finished). will be included in the playable demo for area effect boosters. Might be a couple more as well.  :thumbsup:

ABR ( Anime Battle Royal ) is still getting done slowly with more new things getting done on the SP and as well with characters. I will resume more work on that during later in summer and after the summer  along with Crom The Game with new logo  for the Title Screen , I have selected a good title screen track for it  which will play throughout menu  as well. Depending how the rest will be sculpted that track will play throughout period. i have already some sounds provided by Crom Jodafro to use for it as well for cursor  for move, cancel and selection.

The stage to play might be the Norway stage  or the start off at Crom Mansion Headquaters. Before the actual demo is released there will be more sprites shown, some creenshots and of course ...footage when all is finally put together with the engine design.  :thumbsup:  Sorry for the long delay with work cause we are all in the community on other projects and Real life stuff but thank you for your patience everybody.

Might try to  slide Acey in there somehow as either  booster or some kind of power up.

thanx rage! i hope i did much better job on this redo of the sprite. i really thought i needed to change the look to suit whats gonna be needed for the Booster plus since i got a bit more skilled i try a better base and shading. Long as you like it then its all good and i can then try to have the sprite finished for the Demo :thumbsup:
 oh and any ideas/suggestions you may have Rage for anything with the area effect stuff for the sprite , let me know . Still working out in my head right now for a bit of the lower half to look well maybe with a firey fx.

slight update to one of the projects stage level bosses. i added shading to coat and redid some stuff and shade to the hook hand to be more like a hook with a bit more cleaner look to it.

well we have our main bad guy for the game.  :D the one and only King...King Sic1 ! he will be doing up his character himself for the project. this outta be good and funny too. lol

cool bro DCL is gonna be a booster and right now trying to concept up the character sprite with the right booster effect to fit him. I have 2 ideas in mind for that for him and its his choice. something simple yet pretty cool.

2 other ideas for Acey to drop the either booster icons or health and power up stuff is on some outside stages
he drops from a copter  on a ladder or stand and drops one booster or several health or powerups and then goes back up. the other is for indoor stages he rides pass in a car and tosses them out. lol. might not see the whole copter but the bottom half and Acey comes down from it. lol. something cool like that i think will work unless he has another idea. :-??


well to do more a clarification on the Boss issue. Whiplash is presently the main bad guy we are going up against and his evil society....but behind the evil veil is King Sic 1.  >:D. fromk what i remember of Whiplash doing himsef it wont be an easy fight ( i think he gonna transform into something Big and super ugly lol so i can only figure what sic is doing and will be just as hard if even a bit more harder to beat.

lol well how its planned is you get to select 1 booster that is always available with you to use and the others will be random.  depending on how we can get this to work correctly then thats the staple mechanic of how its to be. i have it displayed on the bars sample i done  with your player on top and main booster underneath.

this is the sampel but the real versions will be done in time for the demo.

as for your sheet , you think you could do an example for me of the actual animation? i have all the sheet and have to cut them out for the sequence but i would like to make sure which ones to use.

As for Boosters so far:
Rage will be complete for a booster, Alan joestar already gave me his sheet awhile back, G- Lux should be done as well, Magma dragoons i worked on way back just gonna need the extra stuff i want to add on to him for firing a missle in the air with it coming out the side and the ground explosions fx when it lands, Dooms Power rush is done in sheet, DCL should be done by demo time too, Acey should be done for the Random icon drops in animation ( still need a huge helicopter for him and add in the sprite he gave me to use for ABR HXH stage and tweak it a bit) Nx men will hopefully be done , still editing his car with more detail a bit.

of course Spidermew sheet is done and some more guys will do some stuff of they own for boosters within the Crom crew and cool community folks. ( i still want to see if Nestor, Manic, Batzarro , Arch, hypnotize and some others from here would like to join in being a booster area effect character. Not much sprite work needed anyway for those so i got to ask lol)

also an idea is to have someone or random folks be invincibility icons. no actual sprite but maybe just a head sprite and we could add those as temporary invincibility power up icons. This way give some people who may not have the time to sprite themselves as a full booster  can be still part of the project.  Anyone has an idea of what we could use for those icons types post them up. appreciate that big time.  :thumbsup:

Uhhhhh, yeah. You got him from somebody back at CVG and I can't remember who it was. I remember him being an artist for his originals and then you had permission from him to use. I know the black colors are yours I guess. Also, I think I made a hook look weird. I tried to make it look good, I forgot if I did sprite it from scratch.

i decided to go and look at a lot more military stuff on Norway and chose to redo The Norwegian and base the better look from Axel Foley hand drawing artwork and will use him as a sub boss before you get this guy. he will be more of a fats assassin type military type. :

his name means Strong Army according the to names of Norway i been researching for the project. Fits too. lol. he is the leader of this group based in Norway and resides on a base.  I wanted him to be much bigger in size and a bit more menacing and have that buff build. So i like the base choice very much. i am gonna add some more things on him ( and more details a bit and shade fixes with them)  like some kind of grenades on his belt cause he will toss those around as well that huge gun actually transforms from a small gun to this gun that can shoot 2 different kinds of things. a flamethrower and  energy blasts .  i will def need a cool voice actor for the guy for when he does some of these things and more , add some comedy in it too. if anyone got any cool ideas for some dialog post them up . maybe about 7 good lines for:

taunt
shooting flamethrower
tossing grenades
his rush strong punch
when he swings his gun
his power move he shoots with an even bigger gun and fires spread shots
 some lines for intros before the fight.

appreciate any ideas with this guys.

Cruz yeah i can make objects too, its a lot harder tho especially if all scratch stuff but if i have a base like i did with the NX car, its just editing the heck out of it and then trying to shade the sucker! My motorcycle i used a picture and hand drew it and then scanned in and then did all the editing to it. still got a lil more to finish then ready for any animations for it . Its how i get from place to place in the game. lol I think i will just have a hot babe drop me off in the beginning of every start area ( gonna come up with a Map to show when traveling from country to country and stage levels...like old street fighter used to do during cut scenes when you beat a character lol) and at the end of the final boss battles...or something like that. lol.

i will try to edit him a bit more with the Norway flag symbol on his shirt and see if i can get it more like its layered onto his clothes in right formation.  wrapping it a bit.

Concept about him:
he is the right hand man of General Ragnar and learned a lot from him but doesnt like to use Guns. He loves his Shield as his primary weapon.  he also throws daggers, does a rush charge with his shield across the screen at players and throw it too.  I have a few cool moves in mind for him as specials and i could use an idea for a  good big damage move.  So i will take ideas for these too.

yeah too Enso i want to expand on the games name like Crom The Game: World Force...or something like that. can use more ideas for that too. lol. make it fit the game good.  Plus will be getting an announcer to voice the name of the game at the title screen just like we have on ABR.  :thumbsup:

still we gonna be adding some more boosters and a few more playable characters. one playable character  Jodafro ( aka Blackswag in the game ) will be a playable character. sprite is done but will revamp it  with another base for the upper body and legs to be different but keepin the belt cause its part of who he is and background. will also make an appearance in Trashcan Larry wip. lol

i have partial of DCL booster done and just have to finish his sprite later for the right look to go along with what he wanted for his character. lol
Now i know a bit more about lifebar designing and guages i will redo those ones from before to a new look. hopefully we can get a cool bro to help work on a SP for the project to fit good for next year.  I want to have a very short playable demo to release sometime next year as well. Plan is 4 playable characters , 4 bootsters ( 5 already are pretty complete in sheets) as well one stage and enemies with sub boss and boss. More than likely it will be the Norway stage and sub boss and boss.  :thumbsup:

I think it looks okay. However, as Lando mentioned about the game graphics, it's going/supposed to be in CVS style. Now, because of Supa's and Mon-el's sprites that are in KOF sprite style minus Supa's GF who is Poison edit in CPS2 style, I have to accept your edit. Believe it or not, I'm not a fan of different graphics clashing each other. For example, KOF sprited characters clash with CVS sprited characters in digitized Mortal Kombat stages. Hey, but arcade Beat 'Em Up graphics in stages could work well and I think stages don't matter, but they have to fit the entire graphics for the game.

So far, I'm not saying your sprite is bad, Skorp. I'm just saying about what Lando discussed about graphics before. BTW if you're a beginner of sprite editing, that's a good start to begin. Sometimes I get to be judgmental or critique about works.

CVS-ish.  I use any base that can work but just use mostly either mvc and cvs bases fused up together and edit. i saw your edit and was like aww it aint bad at all...but then i copy it and went to try and clean it up...i saw you saved it as a JPG when i went to save it from the site. Never ever save any pixel work as a jpg bro. ruins the entire thing and have to either do it all over again or you will have to sit there and edit that stuff for tons of time to clean it.  :'( i think you did that bhy mistake tho cause i have seen you post stuff i think before as a png. So no worries. if you have the same base and want to redo it or do a total do over then cool.  just make sure to save as either png, gif, or bmp format.  :thumbsup:

My adivice is try cvs bases, rotd bases, and mvc bases. if you gonna use a Kof base then just you will have to edit it more on the light souce and shading style. well as for how many sprites you need for the animation will most likely depend on what your area effect damage will be.  Like i guess for an example would be what i am gonna do for Rage booster. character poofs on the stage and raises arms in air and shoots fireballs in the air and then they rain down on the stage all over the place in an explosion.  then poofs back out till called/activated again.  Now lets say you do a spinning scorpions tail whip type thing. then you need the frames/animations for that effect.  i would think it you was gonna go that route, use maybe a tornado fx and edit the colors to be your characters colors with the tails added to the tornado with same effect thats its spinning with the tornado.  you got cvs joe higashi tonado and you got as well Jin satomi with a tornado fx. somethin like that is an example if thats somethin you have in mind.  :thumbsup:

Since its got folks from all over in it i wanted somethin to reflect that as well if its a good idea. we are not just IMT and Crom bros but other spots and from ...anywhere and everywhere. :thumbsup:

Naw its DEFF a good idea tho bruh but while i was workin on him i realized that it's rather difficult to do what i wanna do as far as putting the tail on all of his sprites and i wanted a better tail anyway so i just took your advice and started over im using a CVS edit this time so it's a bit easier to deal with then the KOF edit was i'll show you what i have soon as i get finished iight

Iight i got finished with my new edit which i think is WAY better then the KOF edit and it was much easier for me to finish as well so my mind is made up ima stick with this CVS version instead let me know what you think.  8)

And btw ima still stick with the idea of him calling out scorpions to attack the enemy after im done with his sprites i'll make the attacking scorpions sprite and let you see how it turns out iight.

Iight Lando i finally got done with the scorpion that will come out and attack. here is what it looks like:

Now for some odd reason it didn't have a walk animation in it's sprite sheet when i cut it out it only had that "turn to stone" type of effect. So i just took the time to animate it to see how it turned out. I think it would be good for it to just come out like i stated before like how the serve bots came out and rushed the opponent after Skorpophobia is activated and he comes out signaling them to come out.

Btw that O in the CROM logo kinda looks like an H the way you have it. lol But i like it tho, I think the name you have now is good enough IMO.

lol weeeeeeelllll i didnt make the CROM text, just the Logo. the text was made by fellow homie and its part of the Crom Sword avys we have at the site. I just enlarged it and edited it to fit the color scheme of the logo. I see what you mean tho. lol. If i am correct the intention of the design was to make it like a futuristic Cimmerian of the  Hyborian age version  like design.  ;D . Pretty much a good Pun on how we got the name. lol . But  i could do a retrace and edit it to try and look more like an actual "O" if need be.  I too like it tho because its ...different. like we all are.  :cool

But i shall fix that maybe in an update or before the demo or whatever if the crew has any objections to it .  Plus i spelled heros which should be Heroes. lol. well its just a sample so i figure whatever i show it. lol but yo so far too folks are cool with this actual name then fine i shall keep it and change the text to be correct. And update the front page too  lol .   As for the Bg i am still thinking what to have for that instead of just being a black Bg. I got some iddeas of my own but if anyone has some please tell and can see if can be done. ::salute::

Iight bruh sounds like a plan to me.  :thumbsup: Now as for the CROM logo i think the black BG is nice how it is cause it makes the logo stick out much more but if you wanna add a BG to it i think it should be a color that would fit well with the colors on the logo or other wise it probably wouldn't look right :/

thanx and you got some goond point there too Skorp bro. i am checkin out other Bor games to compare how those games title screens are before i finalize ours and try my hand at coding it in the engine i have. Gonna start with some simple stuff first and learn more on how to add things in coding wise as i go when i can. Still workin on Trashcan Larry as well as i do this and other stuff. i enjoy multitasking.  Lando enjoys the thrill of multitasking and dont loose my focus...actually it keeps my insanity in check.  :D :thumbsup:

plus as well i am not sure whjats all doable in Bor engine but i wanted to have 2 sets of mini game stages , basically levels.One sky stage and one ground driving stage. there are folks who have vehicles and i wanted to incorperate that somehow into the game . The Imt copetship and another set of flying vehicles you get to choose from those folks to play that level, then same vice versa with grounded vehicles like the CC landrover and nx men car, me and my bike and supa and his bike and maybe 3 others to choose from. so folks that are not playable characters or just a booster can  just gonna be one of these. So i think i have some good folks involved in Bor anhd as well the Chrono crash community can inform me if this is a doable thing to have cause i would love that.  :thumbsup:

So far for stages for the project i have 3 already jotted down to be made with one already having the final level board done.

1. Norway stage
2.Monster Island stage ( a stage full of nothing but monsters and zombies)
3. BDC stage which is a building full of nerds ( at his request lol) and  battle 3 floors till you fight against BDC himself

i got these rips  ( well its whole sheet anyway lol ) and doing tiny bit of work on them to get certain attacks i want that it doesnt really have. This is a close range attack for the Plant monster on the Monster Island stage. there will be 2 versions , one that short range attack and another that spits seeds.

 i want to make the attack quick. plus i have to edit them for a movement animations. Plus i see now i need to change up the tongue flick too. needs about 2 frames and edit it better.  lI also want the vine legs actually walk/scoot or something. I got some other monsters sheets and stuff but i want to make them into different stuff to be a lil more custom type monsters/. I got a good wolf sheet but i want to add a rider on them...some of them. lol. Plus some varied types of creatures for different part of the 3 levels of the stage. :sonicthumbsup:

well here i redid the lifebars to a more bor look but my own lil added custom look too . I had to do these scratch like but i may want to make em a lil more fancy i guess. not sure yet but this is a demo sheet of what i think they will look like thus far.

as you see with the Booster underneath player that bar has its own gauge that fills up by 3. so you get 3 times to use it till you have to replenish it via drops of icons ( which will fill up one bar section)plus  as you fight if the gauge is depleted the bar i think may fill up slowly. still working out the idea of that to wonder if will work out good.  that booster is the main selectable one always with your player. there will be random ones as well . So how i got it figured that whichever one you pick as main the others can be randomized one dropped  or found threough breakable objects. once you get those they auto activate. unlike your mains boosters which you activate at will.  :thumbsup:

yup bro thats right. i didnt add "enemy" text on them tho. lol saving that stuff for once its ingame.  I checked out some bor lifebars of games and how most are usually designed so i took those more in consideration to design this projects but make em still have its own look. It will tho be more enemy bars on screen( of course cause of how many will be on at those times) than what i showed in this demo version. lol. If everybody sortas likes them them i will keep them looking this way or if any ideas maybe we could fancy/flashy them up a bit ? :-??. but i will design the timer in the middle as well using this design so it matches up. :thumbsup:  i still have to come up with a cool idea to make the character select screen tho. I want it to at least be cool looking in design as well. So i want to get those things you told me to get done up so they can be coded up into the engine. Getting the ball rolling in all i can do for next year bro.  ::salute::

while i am awaiting word to show off some other custom sprite work done by great friend and bro Hekathon for the Monster Island stage . he done some amazing sprite work for one of the enemies for the stage.

here is my editing of a sheet i have but i am just doing this monster a bit and coming up with both a range attack version, a close quarter version  and a bigger version. each will differ cause of plant tree on their heads with close quarter version ( this one i done edited ) having no plant on head, the others wiil be 1 on head for shooter and 2 on head for the bigger version which will take more hits to defeat. they will be around the begining of the stage and at another part as well.

lol yeah that is the monster i am working on Enso. one of 3 total  variations of the sand monsters.  Very simple editings required from the maple character sheet. yo here is the fresh start on the Cyclops monster dude. I have way more to do but this the start. i shall redit the horn too ( gonna add a real horn to his head. lol ) and change up his skin colors , boots and all. I may go for 2 types , a greenish version and a darker brownish version. carrying a club in hand for attack. I think i will add some more cloth to him across his chest and one side shoulder. maybe taking a cue from one of the old mythology flicks  i used to watch long long time ago like Sinbad  flicks and Clash of the Titans sorta. plus some old mytho book images i saw on designs of them and create a cool version.  There will be a 2 headed monster sub  boss dude on a huge beasts back riding it .  I got a cood idea of what beats monster to use for the four legged creature and edit it . :thumbsup:

 i saw in a book a monster kinda cyclops dude had some furry ones on but was all boots. so i took the interpretation a bit further with making them sandleboots with fur on them at the top part . .  :D  i still have to make the big Club he will use and try to hit players with and and a melee move where he spins with it.   >:D   i still have to make a second color version . more a greenish brown shades. so there are 2 kinds to fight  and still fix this ones horn right like i think it should be.  trying to add more detail to it as well as best can. So far the sprite itself is about 80% complete. more work to do on him to finish the overall look of the sprite.

i got about 6 monsters to work on for the monster island stage ( as well the stage itself with helps )  and the sub boss before you move on to the final stage boss.  The sub boss i already started the first half on the whole character which is the beast that the 2 headed monster dude will be riding on. Its coming along good so far. once i am finoished the first half and make the saddle then i show that then hook up the 2 headed rider.  #:-S   ::salute::

i want to as well add in maybe 2 more of the other staff folks to this. one for the small window  ( portraying like thats the person operating the actual Booster icons and stuff) to drop from that bottom hatch i made underneath it. Another for a seated turrent with gun on the other doorway . that part will be mostly used for the Sky battle stage.  So its just figuring who wants to be in this , o illu, excusion, sabaki   any of the other staff. i just need 2 more people. and their self sprites like how Acey done (i still have a sheet for a mini animation for acey done by acey) and Zvitor's se;lf sprite.  ::salute::

plus Heka added as well to add a bit more detail to the garment and make it more fur like as well. so i will see what i can do to achieve that better. Trying to get better details in the stuff.  ::salute::
each cyclops as well appears in different sections of the Monster Island stage. the human skin tone one is for the beach area, the green version is for the jungle area( we have a good jungle rip stage to edit for that as well ) and the red tone will be for the mountain area. each too will have different weapons and different difficulty in damage. human being much easier and red being harder and requires more damage to take down.


i decided to show this early build of the sub boss  before you fight the main end boss of that stage  which is supposed to be a 10 headed huge dragon mosnter lol

this beast is only half of the initial creation which is the riding beast  with a 2 headed monster dude riding on top of it with a whip for attacks. i am slowly detailing it and add more shading in spots. the saddle may need to be corrected as well .  i still have to add the kind of feet i was told should work for this , (it quakes the ground as it walks and is slow)  and add the reigns from around mouth up to the actual rider i must make for it and other leg.  :P

i wasnt going to show it just yet but i decide to give in inside view of the process and progress.  next time i will show it with rider and then some animations i can come up with for it. I think the huge riding beast will shoot somethin from its mouth , like green fireball. So i have to get a good fireball fx and if not i edit maybe a Cvs Ryu fireball colors to fit.  :-?? but imma see whats up.

i asked cool graphics buddy if able to hookup the title screen with a very good Bg to it for to see what more can add some cool graphical quality to it. he done great with our site banner and so i wanna try somethin out with this . :thumbsup:

I wanted to get started on one of the forest/jungle whatever creatures in there and decided to def add a Zombie soldier  to it with blood on him. The island itself is likie one huge experiment  and hidden militia lab and all kinds of creatures being made from cult classics to unorthodox hybrids . So here is my first take on a zombie soldier.

i got the whole walk sheet in place to do the simple pal editing but i wanted to go further in idea with it. Add a beret hat so far. maybe as well add a real deal helmet to others.  i am thinkin of having some carry guns and walkin and shooting at moments ( the beret hats ones) while others just jump you to bite you.  what yall think?

i am workin on the other monsters today a bit as well scoping some animation ideas for sand monster and the weapons for the cyclops with some more editing adjustments just a tad.

I had got a lil feedback from Atlas on the big monster and to maybe resize its head a bit bigger. So i have a sheet of another monster as i was planning on makin the big monster a lil smaller, more add ons and also it has a bigger head which i had to do some good editing to it to make it form right.  I am still figuring should i continue with the much more bigger version or use this one . liked the arnaments and redoing them some more , just a tad and will either keep this one or restructure the bigger version and fuse it with this one and the sprite sheet so the moves will still come out fine.

got up and on a lil early today  and had to hook up something for the slect screen before i roll into some more sprite work today on some animations and stage stuff as well some TC Larry and ABR material.

a lil small sample of what DCL booster will be like:
The fonts pop up after the booster sprited version of DCL ( i already done the base look he wanted and now gonna be rolling into his actual bootser animation for when he comes on screen and snaps his fingers then teleports back out for this to happen lol)  then the fonts appear on screen first then the cockpit with DCL in it and  you the player can move side to side and when player taps the fire button ( it only fires if you tap the button for it to fire...if that can be coded to work right ) the  sprited fingers will tap the button on the controls. i have to do that quick editing for that. easy as pie for that edit. this should be funny and dang cool once done and nailed just right!  :D i added mirror dice with his name on it as well on one of the dashboard things.  ;D

to demonstrate more how this works i did a more visual of the 2nd phase of his booster (without gunshot fx of course lol )  so you can see what i mean of sorts.
After the Booster call in , which he phases in and does a finger snap and phases back out ..kinda like ole megaman does..... then the words pop up on screen and your treated to the inside view of the cockpit with DCL hands at the triggers ( just like  mvc Jin does) but with a lil added bonus, you control the actual cockpit and gun fire. your able at now to move from side to side and fire at will. can pretty much pick off the enemies you want to. i edited the thumbs as well to actuall hit the buttons to fire upon button presses as demonstrated. this will probably be one of the most unique of all the Boosters so far. once i finish the actual animation for DCL sprite which i have started a couple days ago for him and now going into the fullness of it with the way he desired the character to look for himself i will show it . I want to have thois booster as well playable for the demo this year. :thumbsup:

well since got some feedback on a suggestion by O illu, i took the liberty of going back over the BG and modifying it then add the logo slightly modified as well with it together. just a tad.
: Aight i deinterlaced, dropped the resolution down some pegs, not too much cause then it gets way off. stars start missing and the planet gets too faded. i also pixelized it a bit more and featherd the aura glow just a tad so not to lose too much quality from the previous.  This is as far as i am taking it down from the Higher resolution , i tried to go much more lower and pixelized...and it looked like a  minecraft poster. lol. So nahh not going that far down at all. lol . So this now is the balanced middle ground between both lo and high.

hey...dont say Jk... i might very well take you up on that!  :D  besides,. i got all the rips for Monster island set to be pieced and  got from Loganir his stage for him and Verz ( just waiting on their self sprites and slight animations when they got time ) in the bar as bartenders.....and they are boosters just on that stage. so far.... >:D  they will make an appearance on the demo at the end level. i just need to fix up 1 begining scene ( the Crom mansion under attack) and find a suitable stage set for the outside streets scene.  that leads up to the Loganir&Verz bar club spot.

Yeah i dont mind the simpleness of it ...for now. unless something really spazzy and flashy comes along or to mind to cook up. The actual BG for the select screen..i think we should change that. I am thinking a Bg of the Crom Mansion for the background would be nice. If you got any ideas let me know on the Character select screen Bg for that with the Crom mansion .

dang i got confused again by the chan chans avy's!  \-/o

Yeah HB you really could do one since ...well and Ex chan said. :P

:cool trying bruh . Rage put me on to "feathering ' an image , so i had to take a stab at learning to do it messing around with certain tools and changing certain qualities in images without derailing from the original . I have some more clarity how certain functions of gimp tools uses are and can be done.  mostly experimenting for awhile but i got a long way to go  to get to Rage, Horouboi and Ex chan levels. I shall catch all you guys!  >:D....someday.  :D :thumbsup:
