Title: IMT High Res Screen Pack 2009
Post by: Acey on October 06, 2009, 11:05:08 AM
International Mugen Tournament (IMT) High Res Screen Pack *
* Compatible with High Res mugen screen packs such as Mugen Plus

Happy birthday to me and all my October birthday compadres. Last week while searching the forum I found a lot of recent requests for high res screen packs that could hold large amounts of characters so this felt like a good time to put together a new screen pack with a variety of customizable mugen options. So customizable in fact that we ended up developing two separate screen packs, IMT Red and IMT Blue.

Features:

* Choose between three different Select Screens, which allows 336 characters, 1,344 characters or the menu select system that will allow up to 8,400 characters

* Or you can use the IMT Screen Pack Selector to allow the use of all 3 Screen Pack without overwriting the files of each separate select.def

* Full audio matching the feel for each screen pack, including system sounds and background music

* Custom graphics never before seen in any mugen setting

* Never before released high res version 1.0 EoH Lifebars
(http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/images/Eoh1Lifebarshighres.png)

* Each color version of the screen pack supports a different feel, fitting the needs of most high res mugen users (I'm using IMT Blue)

Ohh! Nice screenpack...I like :thumbsup: Oh and I didn't know you were having a birthday, happy birthday Acey ;) Would be nice if it had an even smaller select screen option...but I know most folks have tons of characters. I just never use that many in any given game...I would use maybe 50 max.

Still undecided to go Blue or Red...

First of all very nice screen pack  :o

However I've found a problem with the blue pack with 1344 character slots. When I put characters in by row whatever row that is last is the the only row that will show up on the screen, and the only row that appears is the first row. All the other characters are there but you cannot see them on the screen. How do you fix this?

Both look great, but the Blue catches my eyes with the clock-related graphics. Cool release, acey...and happy B-Day :)

Good catch, open the folder data/IMT2/ and in there open the system.def.

under the [selelct info]

find this code:
Code: [Select]
cell.size = 13.5,13.5         ;x,y size of each cell (in pixels)
cell.spacing = 0          ;space between each cell
cell.bg.spr = 150,0       ;Note: Don't use animation for cells

and replace it with this:
Code: [Select]
cell.size = 13,13         ;x,y size of each cell (in pixels)
cell.spacing = 0          ;space between each cell
cell.bg.spr = -1,-1       ;Note: Don't use animation for cells

I'm also uploading the changes into the main downloads for all future downloaders.

Ok worked that time. I don't know what happened last time. DL glithed up I guess.

Great screenpack. I've been hoping someone would do a menu system in HiRes.

Edit: Whats with the timer. It goes by in more like milliseconds than seconds.

Now I'm just going to need to spend a couple of days to spend filling that category-select....

It's really easy to switch out the lifebars, just go to the database on this forum and find the lifebars you like, then drop those files into the IMT(Blue)/data/ folder to copy over the old lifebars. Most lifebars come with some kind of instructions on how to install them even though they all are installed basically the same.

I figured most people would install their own lifebars anyways. I'm rather fond of VF5 lifebars myself.

first of all Happy B-Day Acey again & again .. second .. as for the screenpacks i love both versions .. nice lifebars .. good bgm/fx ... wow animations in all screens .. specialy the main & vs screen ... still there is some notes
the select cruser is not so visible in 336
The VS Screen font could be bigger .. there is more space for character name

First off great screenpacks, been spending the better part of a day customizing it and was wondering if you could help me with a few problems I'm having:

When using the 1344 character menu the randomselect portrait is not scaled down to the correct size.

Now I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I'm having a lot of trouble switching the music out for my own.
The System.def file when modified never seems to be able to latch onto the music even when its in the correct folder (Mugen/Sound), I couldn't even switch the default music around.

As a workaround I simply changed the file name of the default tracks and replaced them with my own, now this worked for the Title and Char-select music but for the VS screen it would only sometimes play the music, and even if it did it would crash right after the VS screen ended for some reason.
Now I'm hopeful that a simple solution to the System.def files inability to find other music would negate this due to being able to use other formats but figured I'd mention it in case it helps.

EDIT: Found out it was my specific song :-", but still cant get the system.def to latch onto other music

Also I've noticed that names are in the wrong slots for team modes. Their names are on their allies health bar. This results in it looking like you are dealing damage to their teammate. For example you are fighting a team of Ryu and Ken, you hit Ken but the damage "seems" to come off of Ryu's health bar.

Read the IMT_readme file, you don't have to move anything, you only have to make a small change in the mugen.cfg

Wow, this is awesome indeed. :) I just have one question. Is there a way to remove the categories and simply get the character slot screen?

Edit: Oh, I see. I can view the character slot select screen using the 300+ and 1000+ motif, but not the 8000+ one. Well, that stinks. :( Is there any way to view the select screen using 8000+ characters the way you would the 1000 & 300 one?

Honestly, are you sure you really want to? It's not like you will actually be able to see the small portraits at that size. They'd just be a bunch of little dots....

First and formost, Happy Birthday Acey and thanks a lot for the hard work and progress you've put into these screenpacks. They are increidble! I"d say they both rank at the top 10 of the best screenpacks I"ve seen this years. I like them both, but I took to the Blue Version since that's my favorite color (lol). They're differently styled that they both inspire so much in Mugen today.

The lifebars are off the chain for real! That caught my eye right away as my first battle began. The select screen is crazy large now. Way larger than I ever expexcted to go. 8k?!!! This is gonna be really good!! :thumbsup:

I was happy to put those lifebars to use, they are the old EoH lifebars before we completely updated the EoH screen pack. We released the low res version of them about a year and a half ago but the high res version never got released until now.

Is my favorite character i think it will b great if some one would update hime and give him more weapons since he has so many defrent ones in all of his games. thanx /:O /:O /:O   Hopefull for some updates for him in the near future  :DxDie

OK, is it impossible to window this SP?

I have windows extended via VGA and when I open this it ruins everything on my tv. The desktop and all just gets thrown off. As much as I would love to see mugen on my flat screen, Id rather not have to change the setting each time or unplug the VGA to play it.

Awesome screenpack Acey!
But I don't I can download it.
There is nothing wrong with it, its just I still use normal Mugen you know. (Non-High Res) and I like take all my stages I made with me when I screenpack change, but I Don't know how to make High-Res stages and all the ones I have are not made for High-Res Mugen.

Maybe I'll have a 2nd Mugen for High-Res Stuff, If I do try that this will be the screenpack I get!

sorry for being a  :-@ but oh well.

Step 1) drop characters into the chars folder

Step 2) chose which version of the SP you want to use, 1, 2 or 3. Let's say for this example you chose number 3

Step 3) in the data/IMT3/ folder open the file called select.def and start adding characters.

Now it's important to remember, if you use the IMT.exe file to play the game you can use any of the 3 version at will but if you use the winmugen.exe file it will open the default screen pack. The default screen pack can be set in the mugen.cfg file (all the instructions are there in the readme file)

In FFU,
* select Sprites from the top menu
* select Open
* find the file system.sff in the data folder

I also noticed that you can't access the sprite menu until you've already opened a normal mugen character in Fighter Factory Ultimate.

 :o This is the best Screenpack ever awesome sauce job btw... One quick question is there anyway i can make the fights more than one round?
Title: Re: IMT High Res Screen Pack 2009
Post by: Acey on November 18, 2009, 02:42:00 PM
yeah, the number of rounds is set by the lifebars. Open the file data/fight.def

Find the code that says
Code: [Select]
[Round]
match.wins=1

and change the match.wins=2

Also on another note, Thanks to everyone who is using the new screen pack. It was fun to make and I'm using it too now.

It looks like you just simply accidentally deleted a few of the lines that should be called "blank",

for example the one you called
Code: [Select]
;[006]
should say "blank" instead.

Also in row two you only have 5 blanks there, there should be 6 in a row...

simple stuff.

Step 1) Read the readme file that explains the IMT Screen Pack selector will only work in Full Screen mode.   ;)

Step 2) Fix this problem by using only one screen pack and open mugen the old fashioned way by double clicking your Winmugen icon.  ;D

The selection screen seems to be messed up if I use it with Mugen 1.0. The character portraits are slightly to the right of where they should be and half of the character "spaces" are beyond the edge of the screen. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

Mugen screen packs made for Mugen Plus (or other pervious high res mugen versions) are not compatible with the new set of Mugen versions released on the new Elecbyte website.

Hey Acey (or anyone else), I've been having some problems getting the arcade match order to actually behave how I tell it to...I'v never had this problem with any other screenpack so I was wondering if maybe it's something to do with the SP itself? I'm doing it the same way i always have but it seems to be completely ignoring my order numbers and just spitting out random characters.

Yeah, I had this same problem, but I just spent an hour editing the select.def file, it works for me now, I don't know what to tell ya, maybe Acey knows.

Remember, there are 3 different select.def files and 3 different system.def files because the screen pack has 3 different possible settings. Make sure you're editing the correct version.
Title: Re: IMT High Res Screen Pack 2009
Post by: Valtiel on December 08, 2009, 07:06:54 PM
Yeah, I've only used one of the select.defs, so it's not that. Is it perhaps that you have to have a stage assigned to a char in order for the 'order' command to work? I don't normally assign stages to characters, the only thing I put after their names in select.def is their order number.

here's an example of how I have it:

hauzer, order=1

I have used many other SP's with this same way of coding the select.def and the order always worked...which is why I'm so stumped by this.

This is a little  >:-(-|, but I think I can help:

Some versions of MUGEN seem to need a stage set for every char for "order" to work. Try assigning a stage or adding "randomselect" for each char in your select.def (i.e. hauzer, randomselect, order=1). This is how I have mine set up in the IMT screen pack, and the "order" command works just fine.

AHA! I think you might be on to something. I've just realized that I used to have stages assigned to characters and it always worked before, but now that i'm not assigning stages it's not working...I guess that does make sense. I was trying to think of a way to "assign a stage" without actually doing so. I didn't think of just putting randomselect there, thanks!

Step 1, Edit the system.def file. Find the [Select Info] and change the number of columns
Step 2, Edit the graphic in the system.sff file. Group 115, Image 2 to add the extra columns
Step 3, Edit your select.def to compensate for the additional columns.

1) You can change the time by editing the data/fight.def

look for the line of code: framespercount =

and change the number

2) The problem with the zip characters is that you need the file zlib.dll to be in your plugins folder and you need the following code in the [soundwin] section of the data/mugen.cfg

plugin = plugins/zlib.dll, zip

Title: Re: IMT High Res Screen Pack 2009

Um,..... because in Survival mode, the computer is already in Turns mode. Except that it can have an unlimited amount of characters instead of just four. It's the same thing; for the team that's on Turns mode, when a character is KOd, another character joins the fight - for the computer in Survival mode, the same thing happens: gets KOd, uses another character. It's like this for everyone's MUGEN.
