How to do combinations?
« on: August 01, 2016, 09:21:29 AM »
Hello everyone! Today I tried out M.U.G.E.N and I really liked it, but one problem, I don't know how do combinations work like X+Y, or ~D, D, D, x+y . Please help

X+Y is the equivalent of what you have set for your keys on the keyboard. Many people have

xyz = asd and abc = zxc. So X+Y would you be pressing A+S at the same time. Look at your key config in options if you're not sure.

D, D, D, X+Y is just about the same. Tap Down 3 times quickly then press X+Y. In command terms

F = Forward
B = Back
D = Down
U = Up

Sometimes they will combine into things like DF or DB in which case they are the 2 keys pressed at once. If you read readmes people will often talk about QCF which is a quarter circle forward, Equivalent to D, DF, F. Some really really weird people use numeric notation which corresponds to the numpad. QCF in that sense is 236. You are ALWAYS assumed to be facing right with any command. Some moves may not need a specific key. Readmes may refer to P or K, which means punch or kick. Or PP or KK which means any 2 punches or kicks.

Thank's for the info,
But I think that I'm not able to do those quarter circles or any movement combinations  :(
And how do I count ticks, because I saw in one .cmd file that it said when doing a move with this symbol ~ I have to wait some time

~ is the release of a key. Ticks are fractions of a second. There are 60 ticks in 1 second, so if you have 15 ticks for a command you have a quarter of a second to complete it (this is easier than you think) If you can't do a command, speed up. The only thing that might break is commands that require 3 or more buttons at once. A+B+C for eg which some keyboards can't cope with.
