I lurked around the old phpBB forum for one month, then I had the desire to make something for this mugen engine so as a stepping point I tried to make stages using a tutorial(I'm missing it since I switched the Ubuntu OS during 2008) made by a person I don't remember. My stage was a simple 320x240 sprite of the Super Mario Name Select Screen; later on I made it animate with help from medrops. I created another 19 stages based on one of the mk games in three days to be exact, most of these happen to be 320x240 still sprite stages(some were animated). Later on I remade a few of them like The Soul Chamber from MK3 to be bigger(the soul chamber was asked to be bigger by a member from the phpBB forum). After I made remakes I took at look at my first stage and I thought I need to remake this, so I ran a rom of the game, used snagit to record, used (insert program name here; I forgot) to rip the frames from the video in tif format and used photoshop(back when I had photoshop 7 and windows XP) to convert to PCX and rebuilt the stage. I also made a video of it I believe(search nick99000 on youtube). Later on I made other stages and thats it. Talk about reporting my forum history. :D

Whats crackalackin, my name is Reginald Darius Brown aka PGC Reggie.B aka Iceman. I've been doing mugen for about 4 years creating games and searching for a forum home. Now that I'm at IMT, I've become Infinity Artist and I'm having fun and learning new things to use in my future gaming career. I am currently a Sophomore in College majoring in Gaming & Design and Art as minor. (I'm better at hand drawn art than computer art)
I agree hand drawing is easier unless you have a laptop with one of those touchscreens.

I been around through the first second rebirth i think. I like church, then video games, then cartoons, then sports. I mean thats what I do for fun. I have a wife and 2 children. I spend most of my time collecting either church media, games, or cartoons. I like the non traditional sports like ninja warrior and american gladiators, but will play anything that your were shoes. My name is Charlie and I have been down with mugen since graduate school. I am a computer teacher in nyc. I have been a member for about a year and loving it. I enjoy the work everyone puts into their creations. I am not as good as other creators but I am trying to do a MvC style hugo, pyron and shadow dio. Currently nothing is done (too much lesson planning and school work), but hopefully one day it will happen :)

I have been on a few other forums and by far, THIS is the best one due to the mostly positive feedback from fans i see, the helpful attitude the mod's have with noobs like me! %-( and just overall the amount of effort I see from everyone involved in the forum.
Now, I am a noob, hardcore... My experience consists of months of downloading random awesome chars and amazing my friends with them; Eventually, and hopefully soon I would love to get more involved so please try to bear with me if I have some questions that have been asked numerous times before. Haha, Sabaki remembers what it was I did. You can call me either one, really. My name is going to stay Metallux, but my forum avatar, once it's done, will say Dr. Crow. Only thing that's taking a bit is the sprite edit i'm doing for the character I want outside the shiled banner, which is going to be Doc Crow himself. I'm looking to see if there are any sprite bases I can use through all 302 characters I have in the game i'm putting together for my family for christmas, so it's taking a bit.

im rax, mostly called thunder wolf but decided to use my other alias here and then forgot that i had done so so i couldnt log in for about a month. feel free to call me either although any future sigs and avatars will say thunder wolf cause i prefer it.
iv never made a character or stage or anything like that, id like to think that im pretty good with photoshop though so i gave it a try and came up with spawn, the feedback from it came as a shock as i thought i wasnt good enough. mugen has grown to be an addicting hobby, along with making character sprites and i have many ideas for future projects.
iv posted my edits in open source in case anyone wanted to do anything with them, make them a char or even use them in their own pictures, i only ask for the creation credit of the origonal.
im a huge fan of all things related to comic book characters, marvel, dc, and most of the rest. not a huge capcom fan i must admit but i do like the odd character, and street fighter, but mortal kombat is better.
sonic the hedgehog is king of all fictional characters, and darth vader is the greatest villian ever.
oh and i love lasagne.

Yeah, don't feel bad, I first signed up back in 2007 and I just started to post here. Probably cause I use to really hate forums. Now I've gotten use to them and thought I would give this a try again, ever since I heard the new version was out. (I was still playing version 1. :P)
Anyhoo, a bit about me,
I first tried out MUGEN in 2005 I believe when it was still new, I downloaded the DOS version and Venom and Jigglypuff were the first characters I downloaded. I also know a little MUGEN coding, I never showed any of my work, mainly all it was were intros, but I did to some edits for myself. While searching YouTube for MUGEN videos I came across several well known MUGEN coders, whom I'm sure you all know, Judgespear and Obreck. They were the main ones that got me into learning to program MUGEN. And as of now I am helping them with a project Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
Though I no longer have MUGEN, (the actual engine, I have EoH) I still would like to help you some way shape or form. My time is limited but perhaps I can rip sounds or something. I might even try for Sentry's voice. Who knows.
I know what you're thinking... :-@ You're right I'm shutting up now. BUt thanks for giving this lurker another chance. You guys rock. ;)

I am a Dad of 2 I am married and I have been a fan of 2d fighters since Street fighter 1 !!! I remember when England ( my home for 22 years until I moved to the US ) first got Street fighter 2 I went nuts when I found it in a fish and Chip shop lol ( well 20 pounds later about 35-40 dollars ) I had finished the game with Ken,ryu,Guile,Blanka,E.honda and Zangif lol...
But now I am playing and using chars made by all of you and THANK YOU !!
but I am in the middle of making my own and I dont know where to start ( a new post on that else where )
but since Street fighter 3rd strike come out I have just been in love with the game system ( Dream cast,PS2,copys )

I'm Tom, living in the UK and training to be a primary teacher (well someone has to :P)
I got into MUGEN almost 2 years ago now when browsing for emulators and I found a few sites. This one seemed the most friendly so I thought I'd stay!
I started editing almost straight away, and my first edits weren't that bad if I do say so myself, although I do feel I have come a long way.
So far I've contributed 3 stages for EOH and I've got a few WIPs here and there.
Now the name I cannot explain, possibly Resident Evil related, I'm not sure. It's a tad morbid, but a bit too late to change it as I think.

Anyway, My Name Is -Whiplash-. (the reason for this was that Whiplash was already taken on a different forum, so Just added -'s to it and it kinda stuck.)
I'm not to old (think High School), and I've just started making my first charecter (the link to his topic is in my Signature.), lotsa people around the forum have been helpful in making him and Progress is going smoothly.
The only problem is I don't know how to code very well, and I could use some help.
I've been into mugen for about 6 months, and I've got 290-some charecters, and my screenpack has become to small., but whatever, I'm just rambeling now.

A relative of mine got a laptop some time ago and lets me go on it. I didn't go back here, though... until recently. I'm not too happy about downloading Mugen on someone elses laptop, but I just needed to continue my Mu Tang Clan series.
And when I did, I decided to come back here.
Not that it really matters, though. I was pretty much a no one who's only real claim to fame was using this font for most of my posts. But, oh well, maybe my friends are sti---

I came here because mugen is cool and I figured this would be the perfect place for an upandcoming mugen creator to be. I was right, too. The people here are willing to help when you need it and are always fun to talk to.
I use MS Paint and can create a sheild for a requester, but I'll need 2 pictures and an optional sprite.
I use one I made for myself, and I made Wiifangj's, too (when he puts it on).
BTW, KF2k2 is the only worthwhile kof game ever, and UM will be even better.

I joined the forum a few months ago just to get characters. I figure you guys put a great deal of work into this place and, you deserve more than another lurker.
Lets see I am a decent artist when it comes to hand drawings. I have literally an hour and a half's worth experience with graphic design.(Just downloaded gimp today and been working on my first sig) I also do not have any mugen coding experience, but I believe that is something I could excel at. I have always been good with various different forms of symbolic logic. I plan on starting work on my first character, so I will be taking advantage of the tutorial/guide area. So yea that is the gist of it.
Thanks for the all the effort everyone has put into this site. I am sure it is going to become a valuable resource.

I'm merely a longtime MUGEN fan who happened to find this site from my endless surfings through the MUGEN community. I'm actually not that great at fighting games, but I enjoy the hell out of them.
I would like to say this to the IMT team: You are all fantastic creators, imaginative, hard working, and passionate. It shows in your work, and you deserve an incredibly high level of praise. It's my old youtube channel. It's been over a year since we uploaded any material(mostly due to a few court issues regarding an injury), but we've got plenty we plan on bringing up on a new channel soon.
Aside from the crew, I'm also Ozzy of Herb&Ozzy which is still a pretty new project that me and my right hand man(Herbert) are working on. I'm good with vocals, I'm a pretty decent sketch artist, and I'm a soon-to-be tattoo artist. Still learning my way around the gun, and I'll obviously need a license, but I've done some partial work and one full piece, so learning isn't going too bad at all.
Jordan is also going to learn how to do tattoos, so we'll be making a documentary of our progress and bringing that to youtube as well. :thumbsup:
Also, I've decided to become an active member here and I'm interested in doing some voice work and learning how to make characters.

Those who know me have hated me for my stance against "weak (supporting) male leads" in anime. Because I'm against bullying in general.
That's why I LOVE fighting games. You take your character(s) and you plow through everyone in your way until you either win or get defeated by somebody better.
My all-time favorites are the ones with big rosters; KOF and MvC. (And unfortunately, I had to sell those games after I moved from Sacramento to Reno/Sparks because I needed some money.)

welcome back i guess. Yeh mugen will soon be updated again to "Alpha" as they call it. it seems :(|). The screen now zooms in and out when the chars walk to and away from each other. pretty much like those GGX games and old Kof games. Anyway as for your schooling, thats great man. at least you are trying to actually do something with the talent. Coding is tricky at first but it all becomes more n more familiar later like anything else you learn in life that you are interested in. Well you know what i mean. All i say is if you really are going to present something out there to the gaming industry just stick to your guns. because that one idea may change the game how things are looked at in fighting games period. As for Mugen eh, just have fun with it for now pretty much :-??
The OpenBor engine you should check out too. Is like mugen but for Beat em ups like final fight etc. you can do anything also.

I took a video game prototyping course not too long ago, and I had such a hard time with it. I eventually made the game playable, and it actually wasn't too bad for what we learned in the course (the basics). I'll be taking an advanced course soon, and I'm pretty nervous about that. It's definitely one of my weaker skills. I much prefer modeling 3D environments. Heh. But like you said, it all takes time.

You could always check out the help section and find tutorals for other aspects of creation that you have yet to figure out, and if there isnt a tutoral then you can post a help topic and someone will help teach ya how to do whatever it is you would really like to do.

i actully tried the mugen and i got hooked from the min i tried it, then started adding chars and stages which were hard to do but finally figured it our and my favorite charters in mugen is nightwing and bane etc. i found this site on google by the looks of it already i liked alot so i joined

I really enjoy the characters available but I'm no artist nor a good coder... so far I edited only a few characters but I'm a bit afraid and nervous to show them because of fear of harsh criticism. I hope I get to know the members here and feel more confident to speak up and talk about doing MUGEN related stuff.
Welcome Nick aka Mugenite. Pretty mature site here. the best thing you can do is be brave enough to show what you have done so far and ask for tips in the help section on areas you may need guidance. Everybody has their own ideas and it should be common sense to people by now that if a person isnt that good with coding the character of course is not going to be at its best especially if its just a wip. Most you can do is improve on it. so when you are up to it just show the visuals. only absorb real feed back and help. Not obvious trolling and personal opinions that are overboard....youll get a headache for nothing man.
anyway enjoy the vibes at IMT and be sure to look out for the XVA project like rage said and check into the video game section on the news and disscusions ::salute::

DarkValentine's the name, and retro stage making (as well as video series creating) is my game. And anyone who is here, should know of what I do, if they know me well. I'm an old school gamer, who just has a fond memory of the classics most know and love. And it was my sole reason into getting with stage making. I know my stages may not be the best to some, but it is good to know I have a fanbase towards those classics.
As of this post, I'm working on getting my stages back up and running. And I do hope to update them, so they can work on mugen 1.0. Until I get off my butt, and convert them over, it'll still be grounded to winmugen. I have not forgotten this place, and it is refreshing to see that IMT is here to still be a place to go for all.

I have one small help request actually, and I see someone here is working on Tekken mugen chars, but I have 2 characters that need some work. One needs a new portrait and the other is Hworang and is only 50% complete character so yeah guys if you feel up to the challenge, be my guest, here is some links. I would really like to see the outcome and have Yoshimitsu in this game I am working on with a portrait, I tried file factory but for some reason it is not showing up on Vselect or in the game. 8=|

Too much bases to edit and frankensprite, I needed a lot of work just for the basics and I hadn't enough time to work on him, even with help. Maybe in the future I could have more time to edit again and work in something, who knows. I want to say thank you to anyone who helped me in some way with him in the past. Guys, you are the best.

I know mot of you don't know me because I haven't been to the MUGEN scene for quite some time now. I visit IMT quite often just for characters, stages, and a like, but there was a youtuber who asked me about MUGEN. Then it came to my mind that I should renew and replenish. I can help test the characters but I'm not good with the codings, and other complicated, mathematical, and artistic side of creating something for MUGEN. But I like to make videos on the battle on a particular character and give my own insights on that character. :-SS
I'm a novice Otaku, but I'm a cosplayer. I cosplay girls even though I'm a boy but people prefer me to cosplay weird, crazy, and gay characters because of my attitude and the way I move. *mumbles* nyeeeees. Anyway, so a bit about me. My name is Jordan, but I usually go by JD. Infact, alot of the things I make/put up will probably have JD on it, because of my initals. I'm 19, graduated a bit ago. Love Mugen, and I love fighting games in general, however I never really got into a Mugen community, because I found most of them to be kind of prunish.
This one seems like the best, and I do plan on staying for a bit. So, ... in short, I love comics, I love the show The Boondocks if you couldn't already tell, love the message it gives and it's probably my favorite animation. I'd like to think of myself as a social guy, and hopefully I fit in just right amongst everyone here. I am looking to start creations for Mugen, and contribute to the game, it's just at the current moment I'm horrible at creating. Hopefully going to change. My avatar sprite is supposed to be me, and is going to be my first project because if I screw myself up as a Mugen character, it's not like people would really be disapointed over that. Only me, at least.

Anyway, I'm Shaboba... been a Mugen lurker since way back in the days when MRev was still a thing and even a little before that. Never really got too involved in the community at large due to the constant drama that was seemingly always happening everywhere. Without getting into too much detail, I felt like the politics of various rival "factions" of the Mugen community came to overshadow Mugen itself, so I got discouraged with the whole thing and only got back into Mugen in the past year or so. I have no knowledge of how to create characters, stages, etc... but it's something I'd be interested in learning, perhaps. I've been working on a project on-and-off in RPG Maker VX for the past couple of years and I dabble in various creative media and music, so there's that.
Anyway, this seems like a really friendly community and free from the usual negativity which for whatever reason seems to permeate Mugen, so I decided to join (not to mention I'm a huge fan of IMT's various projects :) ) never really been a huge forum person but who knows. So yeah, hi!

I was here years ago, during a very...I wouldnt say dark time but hostile time as a member of PhantomGs (for those who know/remember MOTVN's old crew).

Im going to refer to myself as ZX on these boards. Ive gone by Xzero. Agnilam. or just Trent. ZXTrentXZ is my usual gamertag for things, and I found that it would be appropriate here. I was brought here by the AvX fullgame project. Phenomenal. Really. I am unsure how active I will be in terms of posting and forum participation( as I am a silent watcher of sorts keeping many thoughts to myself forum wise rather than sharing.), but I do intend to at least be SOMEwhat active in my time here.
I'm a huge fan of fighting games. I have always wanted to learn the MUGEN coding and be apart of the community in my right. I have very little experience on the matter aside from adding characters and stages to the general mugen layout.
Fighting game wise my favorite fighter ever is Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension for the SNES home console. I love all manner of games (except sports games) and right now I am playing AvX, DBZ Hyper Dimension, Killer Instinct(XBOXONE), and was previously playing Street Fighter 4 but have decided that I cant stand capcom(again) after the recently announced Bison doll. If you want to know more about me I am always open to contact for those who wish no harm.

Basically I am on Linux and I installed Wine and got MUGEN and I grab characters here and there. What happens is I tend to lose interest time and again because the Zip Files clutters my Download Folder. Will there be a P. o. t. s styled A.I Auto patcher that works with every character in the Past, Present and the Future? I would like to make sure that I have some form of challenge when I add in characters.

in fact (I will summarize it quickly) I had an account on CrusaderCast since 2011, I posted comments during some weeks but later I didn't had enough time to connect (I also had some others troubles) but more important I even lost my password for CC. Time passed and I « forgot » about mugen forums unfortunately, because of lack of time for this passion and many real life problems.
However in 2016 I came back, I finded my old sprites (that revived a bit my spirit) and I wanted to go back to mugen forums and more unreal : don't know how but I find in my old stuff, a paper where I wrote my CC password XD I was going to try the « forgot your password ? » but finally I didn't have to.
Then I was happy, I discussed with people on CC, saw their sprites, topics, mugen creation, I even shared some things etc but like you know recently after a long life, Ccast say good bye to everyone x')
I visited IMT too for a long time so I said « why not, let's go overthere », because I still love mugen and saw your amazing works.
And I precise that my english can be very very bad, so sorry for the errors that I do.
Oh and I'm sorry if I'm not here every time, so I hope my account will not be closed because of lack of activity ^^''
More precisions now, I'm a fan of retro/2D games since a long time, I suppose that's why I loved mugen for many years ago too.
(I'm also a comic books/anime/manga/tv series fan too.)
I was so interested that I made a lot of search, watched so much mugen videos on Youtube and visited a LOT of sites and forums related to mugen even if I didn't had an account on all this sites, I visited CVG united/CCast, IMT of course, MMV, Scruffydragon, Loganir's Blog, Sics Graphics, Buyog.com etc etc
Back at that time I sprited a lot, characters from comics/tv or movies, when something catch my attention and that I wanted to make a pixel version of it, that's simple : I sprite it directly x)
I was too much enthousiast and some of my sprites where unfinished ^^'' quantity over quality, bad idea. I had some fan-games projects too even if I was an amateur, like a Carnage or a special Fighting games (and some others ideas) and even some playable characters for mugen (including War Machine) but I don't have all my projects anymore.
At some point my computer had a crash... a brutal crash... I lost a lot of important data and files (movies, photos, sprites...), months later I used a software that allow me to recover some of my files but not really the half of it, I had the chance to recover some of my sprites too but there are some of them which are damaged.
Since that I rarely played with mugen and even for the sprites : I don't sprite anymore or very rarely, I didn't had a good style before but I suppose that I lost the less skills that I had. But that don't forbid me to keep an eye on mugen and on the work/videos of these awesome creators.

First of all: my apologies for my english. I'm italian and a lot of time is passed since i went to school.
My name is Francesco, 32, Turin (north of italy, juventus'city) super-heroes addicted/expert (i've a Youtube channel quite followed in italy bout it) and totally in love with mugen and with those who makes it great!
I follow this world since the beginning, about 15 years ago. I remember the time in which there wasn't any char created by scraps and mugen was just a jumble of dragon-ball chars ripped from other games, all out of scale between them. Then i remember the first beta Deadpool. It was crappy but it was the first glimpse of what happened next: lots of chars and staged created by guys like me (my mistake: way more talented than me) from comics i always loved. Than Kal-Elvis and Hannibal Superman (the beta with weird voice), Buyog' Lobo, Loganir' and Verz's Thor and Wonder Woman. and then scruffyversaries, IMT's events, Acey, Zvitor, Ilusionista, Arkady, Logansam, the split of CVG in CrusaderCast and Mugen Multiverse, the farewell to Loganir's..boys what a rush!
I've watched all of this and i haven't take a word in all these years. I've never thanked you for what u did, neither i expressed myself when tons of wips disappeared and never come true... I've neither tried to do something me too. I'm not a good artist and i don't understand a thing about coding... i've just tried to dub in italian characters for personal use...but wasn't a great result! I've been just a lurker, downloading and playing your creations.
I just express my admiration to some of you privately (Zvitor, Buyog, Loganir and Verz) but i think is time to introduce me. I don't care about drama, about all the hate, rivalry between sites and stuff like that.
All i want to say is... THANK YOU. To all of you, no matter what u did, no matter how much or how long. Thank you for still making me doing my personal "Marvel vs. Dc", It will never be finished. But is still a lot of fun. I will also try to be more part of this universe...maybe it's too late XD

I would like to work with someone on working on our oc mikka for a fighting game. Since i'm an artist i can make blazblue styled sprites very well. It's been awhile that I visit this place, I started to join this community since 2007. I been trying so hard to sprite and making characters for fun but I sadly let things go because of IRL. Since I'm going back to college I believe it would be a great opportunity to try out the programs of creating a character which I'm studying computer programming school. If creating a character is challenging than applications in general then I'm ready to step up my game. If things goes well in my favor I would happy to get in more of coding and creating my own game in the future. With that being said I'm ready to learn! :thumbsup:
