That would work but by that logic shadowcat would be lobotomizing every person she had a fight with.
She could, but chooses not to. I read a comic where she went through someone's chest and grabbed their heart (didn't kill them though).
Of course, this assumes Thor has the same physiology as a regular human. If he doesn't it could just be awkward. Might even only kill Nightcrawler. lol
