Ok, I finally bring you Mugen's most intense character, from her smart palette, to her removeable jacket, from her Nightcrawler tail to Mega Buster, Rogue is just amazing! Rogue will ONLY WORK in MUGEN 1.0, that is how she can switch skin color when she steals powers from Blanka, Beast or Colossus. Because she is Mugen 1.0 only, using SFFv2 she can not be opened up in Fighter Factory, at least, not until Fighter Factory 3 comes out.

In Rogue, pallete 1 & 2 are her current costumes, pallete 3 is her X-Treme X-Men cosutme, pallete 4 through 6 use her classic costume with the jacket. The jacket will get knocked off by throws or certain stronger attacks depending on the code of the enemy.

Rogue can steal power from 50 characters. My goal is to have her eventually steal powers from a large assortment of characters in mugen, over 300 easily, including SNK and originals. Also, she is coded so that she will not only steal from regular Ryu, but as many different versions of Ryu I could find in mugen. If you try to steal from someone on this list and it doesn't work then please help me out by opening that character's def file, copying down the character's name and posting it in this thread so I can add it to future releases of Rogue, we're going for maximum compatabililty even though many authors don't even realize the different uses of "name" and "display name" in the character's def file.

I must admit, later on, the thought of Rogue doing the Burn Knuckle and the Buster Wolf from Terry would be awesome... And of course the Gatling Punch and the Galactica Phantom would be nice too :D

Good catch, she still had the reminance of her hair smart paletting that had previously began. I'll go update the main link and post a patch here too.

While you're at it, when she does her Colossus Charge in pals 3-6, sometimes the jacket has a hard time catching up

p.s. I uplaoded a new version that works with DCL's Ryu, Ken and Guile. He uses crazy long character names in his def file. Right now he's thinking  :-@

Acey, this truly is a spectacular feat. Infinity has come a long way as the recent likes of Cable and Rogue prove. Those two characters have a solid Infinity "feel" about them; just by playing them you can tell its your own distinct style. That's how you do it. I'm impressed!!

Also impressive is the implementation of her stolen special moves and how they seamlessly integrate into Rogue's arsenal. She has gained a permanent spot in my roster.

Keep up with the solid releases!! You have a new fan!!

When she has Deadpool's power set, she does not perform the Deadpool super.  She just stands there in a pose until the attack is over or she gets hit...

This is my favorite 1.0 release so far.  I've been waiting for this Rogue ever since the first vid was released.  Turned out better than I could have hoped!   And then to find out that she's still not done yet?  Awesome!

This is my favorite 1.0 release so far.  I've been waiting for this Rogue ever since the first vid was released.  Turned out better than I could have hoped!   And then to find out that she's still not done yet?  Awesome!

Excellent work on Rogue!

Some feedback/suggestions:
-When charging up the Mega Buster shot using the Roll powerset, Rogue won't "glow" but her portrait will.
-Her throw looks a little bit jerky, especially when she pulls the opponent up towards the top of the throw.  On non-super jump stages, it looks like the opponent disappears for a quick second before they are thrown to the ground.
-Speaking of throws (this actually goes for all of the current releases), it would be nice to be able to hold either back or forward to change the direction of the throw.  This can be useful for maneuvering out of a corner, or tossing you opponent into one.
-Here's a few names of characters I couldn't steal powers from:
     Zangief by Warusaki - cvszangief
     Charlie by POTS - Nash
     Spiderman by Seth - Spider-man
     Psylocke by Tjun - cvspsylocke
     Roll by DCL - Marvel vs. Capcom - Eternity of Heroes: Roll

I just changed the names on the characters who didn't work's def. I had the same with WxDCvM or whatever the name was (Wolverine), and just renamed.

Thanks for all the info. I only just made the color skin available on the public release literally the night before releasing her, I caught the blinking with Megaman and correct that despite the skin change code but apparently I missed roll. I agree about the throws.

Just had some solid playtime with Rogue and I have to say that this is an amazing release. All of her attack attributes feel spot on and tight, and the ability to steal plenty of attacks is pretty freggin' sweet. I had a blast in training mode using Ken's own Shoryuken against him. Or Thor's Lightning Hammer strike. Or Cable's punch.

Very, very, VERY impressive work Acey. Keep on adjusting those stolen specials through positive feedback and she will be even further epic than she is already. I say you're giving Raja's Rouge a run for its money. You can quote me on that....

And lastly, could it be possible to give us an option to adjust between your stance and her original X-Men VS Street Fighter stance?? Im a nostalgia freak and I'd love to see her original animation. If not, its understandable.

First off I'd like to say fantastic job guys...BUT  :D :D I LOVE the mega man and the ghostrider Hypers  :D :D can't wait to see more...also she doesn't do anything for MvC-EoH_Chun-Li_DCL    or xMvCGoukix  can't wait to see her updates you guys really outdone yourselves  ^:)^

EXCELLENT release guys and gal(s)! One thing though (and especially since the Batman and Nightcrawler hypers look identical in the vids) When using Nightcrawler's move set, maybe her sprites in the hyper should also have the tail...? This would also make it at least a little different from the Batman hyper when using his moveset...and, if possible, maybe when using Blanka's moveset, maybe should could also have his hair color...well that last one is a little more personal suggestion, but it's a GREAT character and I can't wait to see more from this on-going party! :) *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

Clearly one of my favorite characters to use in MUGEN ever, but I have yet another annoying set of questions:
I see that all the ACT files are not separate and editable.  The whole character in general is not really editable for that matter.  (no sprites in FF, etc) This is all I want to do.  I want to disable all palettes except for the Classic Rogue one, the new costume, and possibly the X-Treme one. (When I try in the DEF, no matter which one I leave, it only chooses the first one, the modern one.) Also to change the small select icon and large portrait to the Classic Rogue one. Is there a way to do any of that?

Other than that, I have no gripes.  I have MANY MANY compliments!  This character is amazing and I applaud all the effort that went into her!  She delivers like DOMINOES! :D

Till fighter factory 3 comes out, you won't be able to change alot because of the complex coding manuver Acey had to pull for all the powers set and changes that occur, like Rogue's skin changing color or sprouting Nightcrawler's tail.

The author doesn't matter. In the def file if "Wolverine" in the "Name =" space in the def file she will steal from him.

Quick question...is her folder supposed to be missing the .act files? Cause when I extract her files, there are only 17 total in the folder and no .act files at all. I tried redownloading and the same results. Is this normal?

Ahhhhh ok...just asked cause I checked the .def and it listed where the .act files should be and I just questioned it as I didn't see them anywhere. Thanks for clearing that up! :)

I just got back from the Guild, and another frame thread but a bunch of users who didn't even download the character. I agree Cyanide had useful comments, just not actually useful for Rogue while sometimes even stating the facts a little off.

My reply was a such

I should mention though your comment about how Rogue is able to do combos inverse does not seem acurate to me. You can't go from MK to LP while standing, crouch or jumping. Neither can you go from MP to LK.

@ Those who need a little night time reading, A little bit about my work here, I'm not creating a MvC2 or MvC1 character, that's cool for those who do exactly that, and some did it very well (Splode, Mystic Blaze) but my take on mugen is that you need to be creating for the engine. All the moves and timing in rogue are matched with the character. I'm also one of those who has a problem with hitboxes as you'll find them on the VS series, litterally from CotA on through MvC3 but if you want an discourse on hit boxes theology that will be saved for another day. The ReadMe file points this out but Rogue uses the typical Magic Combo series as well as the typical L,M,H, with appropraite chainging into Supers and Hypers. As Cynaide points out you can chain go straight from LP up to a HP which is typical. There are no combo loops here so no need to assume there might be. In regards to the stance most everything matches up with the rest of the animations perfectly except for the one frame Cynaide mentioned, I'll be sure to tidy that up. Her 50 power sets are all spelled out in the ReadMe file as well, plans continue to make Rogue compatable with a wide variety of Mugen characters. All in all Rogue is one of the most complex mugen characters, not only because she can steal moves but also because she has a complete smart palette, a complex jacket helper according to the palette used and triggers to confirm !selfstate in order to handle the helper in a realistic maner while being thrown and such. Rogue also utilized SFFv2 to allow her to change skin color when stealing powers from those like Blanka, Colossus or Beast. One little perks thrown in include growing a tail when stealing from Nightcrawler. There are some cool custom animations such as the "Hyper Mega Man" stolen hyper and the "Ghost Rider bike" stolen hyper. All around she is a very solid character.

Combo Chain 1 = LP->LK->MP->MK->Hard attack (stand, crouch or air), you can skip ahead at any point going forward in this combo stream.
Combo Chain 2 = Light->Medium->Hard (stand, crouch or air), again, you can skip medium if you want.
Normals Chain into Specials. Specials into Hypers.
In general you can not chain normals into stolen attacks. Most stolen attacks can not be done in the air, excpetions include Hadouken, Mega Buster and Ice Blast.
Nothing is mashable except for LP or LK into itself, which are both precidented.

So for everyone out there who truely wants to play an amazing Rogue, wonderfuly programmed with great chaining, solid gameplay and full of tons of extras then this is a download you won't want to miss. Ignore the liars. I'm always listening. It's those who aren't afraid to speak up against the socail norm who change the world.

I'm a big fan of the "Unless you can do better, keep your negative, unhelpful comments to yourself" mentality.  I think I can speak for many of us when I say that Acey, like most of you here, is a very powerful asset to the MUGEN community.  If it WAS the case that Acey sends people to comment for him, which I'm sure it's not, it's because he's busy with his own life, AND making awesome characters FOR FREE for people to enjoy! Without you guys, MUGEN would not be the amazingly fun game it is today.  You guys seem to be the cutting edge for pushing and testing the limits of what this game can really do!  So I want to formally thank all of you here at Infinity as well as anyone else who has contributed.  I also want to give a quick 'thank you' to Gangsta Luxury for answering my previous questions so promptly!  I'm a member of many forums, but this is easily one of my favorites because I feel most people here want the same thing: a game we can all share and enjoy.

Great character!!!  She truly captures the essence of Rogues when she steals other characters powers... I wish she hard a stronger AI... I posted your release in another forum and people acted plain stupid and ungrateful, here you give a good character with awesome potential and they are judging it like you are getting paid to do it, thanks for your contributions to our mugen community in my opinion they has should be up there with the "Dragon Claw", "Eviel Ken" and "Rare Akuma" authors!

u know what i did the same thing and was wondering too...like after her punching hyper into air i can chain into her air punches and she seems to keep going a little longer

Fury Punch can chain into Fury Uppercut. It can only chain back into Fury Punch again if you're in the corner. If either of these chains are done you lose the opportunity to Fury Punch chain into Hyper Fury Punch, since Hyper Fury Punch is a ground only hyper so it is a viable option if your hyper meter is less than 1 level.

Oh, Almost forgot. The Thor Stolen Special and it's Hyper has a bug. it freezes the Opponent  after hits, leading to a very easy infinite  of doing the move over and over again

Edit: Finished my Tests, she CAN hit with the power Drain if the Fury punch hits a un-blocking Opponet and also, Ground Fury punch can also cancel into Stolen Specials. She can't cancel fury punch into flight though. Fury Uppercut Canceled Power Drain won't connect, however

@ JagwarKnight - Fury Punch shouldn't be able to chain into Power Drain, I'll fix that. Power Drain should only be chainable from normal attacks. In general stolen powers aren't chainable from the normal attacks but I see how Thor's stolen power, without a soft knockdown, can be an infinite. Will fix that too.

After you grab Rogue with Haggar and press Forward and K, when they impact the ground a clone of Rogue is created temporarily.

Also, while I'm here, I'm using the IMT screenpacks and Haggar's Intro and Ending do not play in the red one (I haven't tried the blue one yet.)

***Edit**** Nevermind, the clone thing must have been a crazy fluke.  I can't recreate it.

The clone was probably Rogue's Jacket cloning then killing itself, sometimes there is just nothing more you can do.

I redownloaded him and they did work.  Which means that it was me.  I don't tend to use the Close up head/shoulder shots for ports.  Mine are generally from the head to the waist.   So it was something with fighter factory.   When I changed out the 9000, 1 port for mine and saved it, the intro and ending didn't work.  Turns out it was picky about the way that I saved it.  Initially I just went to File and save.  So I made the same changes and this time went under the "Sprites" menu to save and it worked with the intro and ending staying intact.   It's odd, I don't know why it mattered how I saved it.  :-??

Anyway, it's all good now.

As for Rogue, I bet you're right and it was her jacket.  I can definitely live with that though, she's that cool.

Me and my friends were playing mugen and one of my friends was playin goku the new one and it just dawned on me...are there any plans of her copying goku..It would be awesome if she took gokus power and with the smart pallette got the gold hair lol or could throw a spirit bomb ...DROOLS  :w00t: just an idea lol

All the music in the full game X-Men: Second Coming was made by WizzyWhipItWonderful who made all the music in the style of capcom's soundboards. He reused theme already established for characters and created all new themes for characters who didn;t have their own yet.

He's also working on the OST for Capcom Fighting All-Stars as well, dude's real cool to work with too. I just asked him wanna do a soundtrack and he was like, sure why not?

That error usually only appears when you try to open her up in any fighter factory except for fighter factory 3 you need fighter factory 3 in order to change anything on her like her portrait and stuff like that but if it shows up when you load mugen then yea thats a diff problem lol :-??

What so special about XCB's Rogue?

Yay continuing conversations from six months ago that I don't remember having!

XCB's Rogue is an accurate XvSF (I think?) version, with all the stolen powersets that Capcom gave her. While Acey's obviously has more powers and is more MUGEN-ified, it's got a different look, doesn't have EVERYTHING Capcom gave her, and the animations and gameplay aren't Capcom-smooth. (No offense, but it's pretty safe to say that nine times out of ten a paid product is gonna be better than what people do as amateurs. This Rogue is bloody fantastic for mugen standards, just not releasing-a-sixty-dollar-game standards.)

I actually finally deleted XCB's Rogue like a month ago in a major effort to slim down my roster.

ela tem um bug quando esta com poderes aleatoria ela trava e fica para e nao da pra mexer ate o oponente acertar um golpe
