Title: "City Heights" Stage - Updated on 12/8/2017
Post by: DarkValentine on December 07, 2017, 11:31:54 PM
EDIT: Stage has been updated to Version 1.1 (Not M.U.G.E.N 1.1 o.O#)

Known Changes:
1. Downscaled City Layers from 2:1 to 1:1. Slightly upscaled Mountain to compensate for it.

2. Readjusted Aurora Skyline, to make it appear more visible when scrolling up from a Super Jump. Bottom of said Aurora Skyline appears to be cut off when it animates. This is an issue from it's original ripped source.

3. Added a Curb at the bottom of the fence on the main floor, so ground and fence appear to connect properly.

4. Adjusted Foreground Fence on the left side of the stage, by slightly moving it upwards, as it did not match the rest of the fence to the Right

5. Removed the Tiled option in city layers. As well as slightly adjusted the right foreground fence, to touch the edge on the right side of the playing field.

6. Adjusted boundhigh from -225 to -200, to compensate for lowering the Aurora Skyline

Thanks to O Ilusionista for asking about the initial buildings, and taking notice of their odd scaling.

I took a super long break from making stages, because life got more involved than I wanted this year. Hopefully I'll be back in the groove of things soon. This will do for now.

Really long time no see. Good to see you here.
Have you scaled you the buildings? Their pixels looks scaled up.

Yeah, I did this on purpose. Because when I originally ripped them and worked with the stage as is, the buildings were about 3 to 4 times smaller than this, and were incapable of scrolling left or right. It also originally made all characters look like giants by comparison after building this stage the first time. I did try to tile them beforehand, but it made the stage seem off. The mountain image was the only large image from the set, and it took up the majority of the stage and made the buildings themselves out of place, because it didn't match any part of it. So it too had been downsized to compensate. But, it appears I did too much for that layer, and now it's the polar opposite... o.O#

I plan on making a minor upgrade to the stage in resizing the buildings. but that will be when I get home from work.

The stage is from Mobile Suit G Gundam, so by default the game had everything scaled for Gundam battles.
Edit: We closed up shop early, because it's snowing, and the roads are hazardous, so I can work on adjusting the stage. It shouldn't be too difficult to adjust it from a 2:1, to something lower. I'll update the thread with it soon.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

As you can see, this is also why I do videos of stages to go with the release. I want people to actually see the stage in action before trying it. This way, it's no spilled milk on my end, if someone has input on the stage itself and gives me feedback. This also saves time from people downloading it, and installing it themselves to give that same feedback, when I show everything in the video outright. Of course, people can still download it and try it for themselves, but I don't mind giving everyone options.

Thanks. I'm still on the road to 100 stages. After I hit that target goal, I just may retire. Anything can happen though, so let's see what comes from it.
