sketch looks pretty abnormal, it might have been a better idea to have sprite him from scratch, sonic is really good though.

What exactly's "abnormal" about Sketch? Care to give me some tips on how to fix him

Head has weird proportions (so does most of his body) might to check his sprite to better shape his head. his pants look cvs-ish in shading, could've been simpler. I think you made him a tad too wide. Also the grey could use less contrast.

I based the sprite on the original sprite in the game, so yeah I DID check the sprite for reference.

I know, I mean proportional wise, sprites don't often get a perfect conversion.

Also when you say the grey needs more contrast, you mean the grey in his jacket thing or his gloves?

Went back and tried to add more contrast to Sonic's blues

Also went back and [hopefully] fixed the proportions on Sketch (wanted to do that before I fix the colors)

Ristar's shading is flat. Needs more shades to make him eather shine or something.
It should make him look like the star part is curved.
Also i wouldnt do the round body in pure black, even that should have some shading to give the illusion of curving and the illusion of a light source.

Here's a good example

Finally got Ristar shaded

I know his shading is different from the original game but I was trying to make it more Capcom-ish shading

Cool sprite, bro.
I hope, someone turns it into a MUGEN char one day.

I'm sure there's already a Ristar on MUGEN but it probably recycles the Genesis sprites.

No, there doesn't exist any Ristar for MUGEN. I already checked at MUGEN Infantry.
