MvC2 Morrigan Released

Following a suggestion... I have released Morrigan to the public. She is close to SA and has 6 hypers. Enjoy.
Credits to Mouser for the MvC2 source code and hsienthm for the sprites I used from his Morrigan and Neo_Fire_Sonic at MFFA for the MvC2 lifebar portrait.

MvC2 Morrigan Hyper Combos



Hyper commands
Soul Eraser: D,DF,F + any 2 punches
Silhouette Blade: ~F,D,DF + any 2 punches
Darkness Illusion: D,DF,F + any 2 kicks
Brilliant Shower: D,DB,B + any 2 punches
Splendor Love: ~B,D,DB + any 2 punches
Eternal Slumber: x,b,B,y,c

She looks very good. I think though, that you should change her hypers' commands, sorta like this:

Soul Eraser: D,DF,F + any 2 punches
Silhouette Blade: F,D,DF + any 2 punches
Darkness Illusion: D,DF,F + any 2 punches
Brilliant Shower: D,DB,B + any 2 punches
Splendor Love: B,D,DB + any 2 punches
Eternal Slumber: D,DF,F + any punch+kick

Updated Morrigan to fit the commands for the Hypers after testing them out. I forgot to mention that I put the .pcx files for the lifebar port and select port if anyone is willing to help me get a proper MvC2 port of her for the lifebar.

For some reason, her F,D,DF commands are not working. They act like if I was pulling D,DF,F.

It's a little tricky but you have to press F, then D then hold D & F at the same time then press any of the 2 punches to activate Silhouette Blade. Same as Splendor love except it's B and DB instead of F & DF.


Edit: Morrigan is no longer a BETA. She's a fully released character now, thanks to Neo_Fire_Sonic at MugenFreeForAll. He managed to make a MvC2 port of Morrigan.

I know how to perform such hyper. I do so in Hsieh's Morrigan, but it doesn't work on yours.

You may be having the state controller of a different attack thats using a QCF motion take precedence over a DP (F,D,DF) motion.

You want your DP motions to be placed first before QCF motions.

If this is not the problem, then you might have the command for that attack set differently.

A little suggestion: next time don't release a character, even as a beta, if you still know that your character may have bugs or glitches. Find and fix them all first before releasing.

I was just about to say this but yes, this is your problem.

Put splendor love and Silhouette blade above soul eraser and Brilliant shower in state -1, that will fix this issue.

I just tried now and it fixed the issue 100%

The feedbacks you're giving me are helping me a whole lot here. I didn't know there was priority with the commands. And Whiplash, I put the hyper attacks above Soul Eraser and Brilliant Shower and they worked with no trouble. I updated the link with that fix. Once again... I seriously appreciate the feedback.

Another hyper command error I found, the command for it doesn't start with  . Its just x,b, ,y,c

2 things with Brilliant Shower I noticed from the video:

It seems to kinda end abruptly. I think it needs a few more frames and subsequently hits. I seems like you cut the original version of the move to end sooner than it should. Look at PotS' ver. of the char to see what I mean. I know that his is more like CvS2, but I do believe the animation lengths were closer than they are in your ver. compared to his/CvS.

Also, I noticed that you didn't do/mention the ability to use any of the hypers in the air in the demo video above. So, this comment is actually for 3 of your hypers including Brilliant Shower. I think B.S., Splendor Love and Darkness Illusion should be able to be used in the air. At the very least Darkness Illusion as it was usable in the air in MvC2 anyway. Having Splendor Love be usable in the air would make for another option of aerial rave combo endings. Same goes for Brilliant Shower.

I'm no char creator, so I could be wrong on these things. Maybe some of the more established creators here could elaborate more on this one way or the other...?

This Morrigan is based on MvC2 with her Lilith MvC hypers added too. Astral Vision didn't appear until MvC3.

I happen to have POTs ver. of Morrigan and the animation does tend to be longer... I left Brilliant Shower's animation unchanged and plus, Finishing Shower on POTS Morrigan was not a Lv 1 Hyper I think because of the length of the attack sequence. Darkness Illusion CAN be done in the air... I forgot to show it in the video. Splendor Love however... the charge up time for an air version of this one will not be well-played cuz the character will go to their guard state and thus ending the Aerial Rave before Splendor Love can hit... if it can hit because the charge up time can cause the hyper to be a total miss.

Ahhh ok, gotcha. I had assumed so, just mentioned it cause it seemed odd to not have ANY air Hypers. Ok, I understand on the Splendor Love thing. Would you consider making Brilliant Shower usable in air though? If not, it's just a nickpick anyway
