you guys should consider adding E.honda's ultra from sf4 to this guy, not exactly like honda's but the idea of taking the enemy to the end of the stage and beating the sh*t of him using the horn would be nice.
Man, after a few little updates (more moves and everything listed in the readme), this character is going to be... :o. Just the way you did the sprites and how fluid the animations are, it makes you feel like your actually fighting with a heavy character that has to throw his weight around. Other bigger characters sometimes feel kind of weightless when you play with them, and it just feels unnatural. I especially like the nostril smoke. It's definitely Rhino. He plays great, but that foward dash looks weird like it doesnt belong there.I think the forward dash might look a little odd 'cause it might need to be arched a little bit higher when he does it. I've gotten use to it as is though, so I probably won't notice even if I check it out closely.
Also the snarling sound kind of gets annoying but its cool..
Maybe you can add some sound for his walking forward and back.

Are you actually making a char of him. I remember when I first joined here I posted that there should be a Rhino char either made from Hulk or Juggy? Its in that Chars You'd Like Mugenized topic.
Yea, I am working on him. Using Zangief as the base though, along with some Hulk stuff. Might just be limbs of Hulk though 'cause I can never seem to resize the actual Hulk sprites right then they look off. But who knows. Might even try asking for permission to use the sprite rips of Monk from Martial Masters as I think he could be useful.
In any case, I'll start working again on him some after Harley's beta gets released at the end of the month (and I'll post a WIP topic of him when I get a good amount of stuff done). :thumbsup:

Awesome release, wasn't expecting Rhino to be made so quickly. After playing a few rounds with him I found a quick bug:
-If you get hit while doing the Stone Star, Rhino will be stuck at whatever height he was at when he got hit.

This isn't much, but have you thought about using maybe the lion's roar from mgm pictures as a sound effect for Rhino? It's not the best I guess, but it could be edited to sound like breathing and it has that low raspy growl that Rhino has already. The werewolf's growl from 300 might work too. Just thought I'd offer some input. I just think those added breathing efffects would really help him out. :)

The details you've put into him so far totally make this character! Everyone involved in making this character are doing an amazing job.
After a little bit of testing, I haven't come across any bugs but I do have some opinions/ideas for you. Please keep in mind that these are just my own personal ravings, so please feel free to ignore them if you see fit:
- I know a lot of people are going to give me grief for this one, but I actually think his charge and gore moves might have better gameplay with "charge-back" commands rather than QC. This would let these moves play more like Hulk's Gamma Crush or Blanka's roll, where you could quickly use them to turn your defense into offense. It just "feels" right to me, you know? Like the motions are more in tune with what the character's actually doing. Like he's rearing back for a moment before charging forward at the opponent. To me, QC moves just don't seem very intuitive for these sorts of moves. A slightly different command structure might help him to stand out even more from the crowd, too.
- He could definitely use some envshake. OK, lots of envshake. Like on his landings or on any of the moves where he charges across the screen. Combine that with some heavier footstep sounds and it will really feel like he's rumbling across the screen, ready to smash whatever's in his way.
- Hyper move idea: Basically a "Hyper Gore", where Rhino impales P2 on his horn, lifts him in the air and shakes him around for a few seconds (preferably while yelling or growling), before launching them across the screen.
Just my 2 cents worth. Whatever you have in store for Rhino, I'll be anxiously waiting for the next version!
Hey Batz great work on Rhino. Just a quick suggestion about the one hyper he has. I like the idea of the mulriple headbutts, however it strike me as kind of blah that there is no coup de gras at the end. Perhaps have him do the three headbutts and than have him flip them behind him like in the D,B K special move.
I'm loving that backhand of his. looks like it was fun to sprite.

That move works for Sodom though because he has weapons. Imagine how awkward and weird Rhino would move if he did that same move using his head instead. Just don't think it'd work, but thanks for the suggestion.

Well, here comes the BETA of Rhino. Not gonna give a percentage as I'm not sure how far in he really is, but there's still a hell of a lot more that's going to be added into him. A lot of it already sprited, just didn't have the time to add the stuff in AND make it into the IMT Release Party. So, I choose to share this with the public and just update him with all the extra goodies not too far down the line.

This is definitely a beta. However, it shows INSANE promise. Aside from more moves, the only problems I see are lack of voices (which you said are coming) and that he still has that freaking random yellow ring when he's knocked down in the corner, same as Punisher.

That actually does sound pretty great. Was thinking you meant he would use his horn the whole time he did that, but glad you showed me what you meant. Was looking for another new special or two and another grab was desired. It re-uses sprites that are already there with a few added ones to make a whole new move. Think this move has a lot of potential and probably will get done. :)

Aside from what Acey said, there's three things that help me to make a WIP come to life.
1) Make a whole list of what you want the char to have and just general ideas. This really helps from just making sprites that have no real direction towards anything the char will use.
2) After getting a good amount of sprites done, copy significant pieces (like the head, symbols, or things of that nature) on to a blank sheet. If you've done a lot of sprites, you should most likely have everything you need to copy/paste the harder parts. Though, you'll always run into a few sprites that you do need whole new pieces for. :)
3) Working through the night. Though, that can come back to bite you in the @ss and then you're too tired to work on anything the next day. :D

Althought the char feels very basic (no taunt/throw), the foundations for a great char have been firmly laid down. For that, you get a :thumbsup:
His specials are nice. I think you did a decent job rearranging his mostly-Zangief attacks. Keep up the good work.
y not have rhino have a tricky fight style..like maki,kong cyclopes, or el furte from street
fighter 4..where he runs toward opponent with qcf a punch button he do a running horn
headbutt or a kick button he will do a running slam into the wall on the side of the screen.
its a nice move because of the run sprites look alike and you dont know if its the
headbutt or the slam coming it would be a fustrating a.i. to fight against.
a good hyper would be..if he connects with the opponent with a sliding grab then holds
them with one hand ..stomp the ground once a stone slab comes out the ground (i think
kong has some rock sprites in his thanos sprites) and he punches opponet into the wall.
the wall leaves a shadow mark of the EOH character (just a single EOH character sprite
shadowed) if thats too much work...or just a regular body print like the old street fighter
2 games. its called the tombstone punch its a move from the ben 10 game on psp

change the sounds for the walk, different strength hits, blocked hits and the motion sound of physical attacks. Rhino sounds kinda like Punisher. Always thought the IMT sounds were kinda soft for attacks
+ The heavy breath when Rhino's just standing is a 'plus'.

- HK.... You should change it it doesn't fit at all ; it's like the character's dancing French Cancan ; not so sure about it (tested yesterday), but he may be able to perform it way too fast (the delay between 2 HK isn't long enough).

Rhino is OFF THE HOOK!! :o This is probably THEE smoothest beta character I've ever played with! His combo ability is INSANE for a guy of his size. I had no idea that anyone would have even thought of making this guy, but I'm truly thankful you have...

Smooth as my girls nice soft backside!! In other words... Very very AWESOME!! Nuff said on that...
[BASICS]
His basic attacks are based from Zangief, but who cares??? They look pretty good to me. He chain combos very well, and in true MVC fashion. He's not as fast as most MVC fighters, but he shouldn't be. He's HUGE! But believe me... This does not stop him from kick the hell out of other characters a$$'es! Complete with launcher, followed by my favorite thing ever... Aerial combos. Great job... Seriously!
[SPECIALS]
The running charge is very effective and reminds me so much of those old school Spiderman episodes. The gore and toss special is an awesome way to end off a combo, and comes in really when you're backed in a corner. The jumping knee drop can be done on the ground as well as in the air, and can also be added to combos. Just freakin sick...! I can't wait to see what else you have in store for this guy...!

Well, he only has one! It's cool, but I find myself beating the crap of my opponents with basics and special so much, I don't think to use it. I can't really comment on this yet. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what he gets. Personally, I like the idea of the Sodom throw. Pushing them on ground through crackling concrete. Just seems awesome to even think about. I say DO IT!!
[PROBLEMS]
After doing the Knee drop, if you get hit while doing it, he can then walk on air! lol... Doesn't take away from the fun you'll have with him, but needs to be corrected... Nothing else found as of yet...

I like this guy! He looks to be very promising. If he kicks a$$ now as a beta, imagine the damage he'll cause when he's done! Worth the DL now if you ask me, but some may want to wait till he's complete, or at least updated. Besides the one little problem I found, he's nicely done, and it was about time... didnt test it..if he does his hyper, can cyclopes or ryu stop his hyper if he is hit with a
fire ball or beam hypers..if so..what about a second hyper where he does a super diving
headbutt where during his hyper portrait he slides his right foot back twice and smoke comes
out his nose like a bull and it cant be stopped like the juggernaunt headcrush hyper.
.or where he rapidly runs with shoulder charges right to left on and off the screen..juggling the
opponet in one spot while in the air.
.he has a football fighting style

Great work, I love the look. Very authentic, the Sinister Six is almost complete.
Rhino will have his own set of get hit/attack sounds, I think they just haven't been put in yet. Didn't notice anything wrong with the walk/block sounds. Though, I'm sure a heavier sounding walk would sound better if the default one is still in.
I rather like the standing HK, though I think what might look off is the placement of his leg planted on the ground. Will see if I can make that look any better.
As for the cop car sprite, it was borrowed from Wucash's Ghost Rider (w/permission). I did change it up a bit from his, but I might just use his original one as a lay out and completely remake it myself. Giving it more MvC graphics and more definite lines.
Yea, his crouch will be animated. Just didn't get to it this time around. :)

Rhino is fun character to play as. But i do have a few suggestions about his intro and some other things. In my opinion, instead Rhino chasing the cop car across the stage - the cop car should be on the stage and the rhino lands on top of it either with his feet or with his knees and the Rhino is engulfed in an explosion (unhurt of course) and the smoke clears and the match begins. Or maybe a special intro where the Rhino chases deadpool on his scooter (which sorta kind of happened in the comics) across the screen and we later hear a explosion and see deadpool fly across to the other side of the screen and the Rhino walks onto the stage and the match begins.For the car intro, that doesn't sound too bad, but it just wouldn't make too much sense to me to have a cop in his car sitting there for no good reason in front of the opponent. I know it's Mugen and all, but I guess it's just a sense of reasoning that makes me think the intro might not work. I'll think on it some more though, maybe I'm just tired. :P
I also think that rhino shouldn't be throwable or should be able to be push backed or knock down. The Rhino is a extremely heavy character in the spiderman comics and he should have some of the attributes of a heavy character. I would love to see the stage kind of tremble like Gold Warmachine in Marvel Vs Capcom, and it would be awsome if the Rhino could stun his opponent when lands on the ground after jumping making the opposing character dizzy.
I also wouldn't mind a bear hugging grab move (which would be perfect since your using Zangief as your base) that would leave your opponent partially paralyzed or dizzy for a few seconds after the bear hug.

Not sure what you have against the bear hug, but it's a great move that would suit the char. Just not sure if it'll go in or not. :-??
Whenever I get to it, I will be modifying the HK, on how it looks some. Not sure why you'd want the HP modified also, but I'm very happy with how it came out, so that won't be changing.
Also, I wouldn't give him any hyper where he becomes stronger. That would sorta imply that his powers are based off of anger, like Hulk, and that's something Rhino obviously doesn't have.
I posted this over at Mugen Guild a while back, so this might be too late to be useful, but here goes anyway:About the slap, it's something I do feel Rhino would do. Though I might change it, who knows.
Ok, I'll give some feedback. He seems pretty cool. I always thought the Rhino would be hard in a fighting game because, well, how many moves can he really have? Just charges, mostly, right? Hopefully, you'll come up with a good answer to that. As is, he feels like the big brute that he is, which is good. I'm not too sure I like his weak punch (slap), because that doesn't seem like an attack he'd do. I know it's Zanguef's, but that's all the more reason to change it.
So... Thinking about other moves:
Maybe a charge where he, headfirst, plows into and pushes up some ground/rocks that will hit from above (or a small hop at the end so Rhino himself hits from above)
Maybe a grab where he runs with the opponent into the wall
Possibly a grab that throws the opponent into the wall, to bounceback for an additional hit or combo
A running clothesline, just for fun
A fake run where he takes a few steps, causing the opponent to block, then stomps the ground instead,
causing some damage to the opponent (and maybe setting him up for a real running hit)
I guess the idea is that it would be cool to have a big tank character actually be nuanced and strategic. I.e., he could have fast charge attacks that can hit low, high, and even while blocking. Ideally, Rhino could give some small indication of which attack is coming - maybe hand position during the "windup" for the charge.
Just a few thoughts. I'm looking forward to the next version!

For an intro-Rhino could smash through an armored truck or tank and say "Now, I'm pissed off." He could have an intro with members of the sinister six and say "Stand back guys, while I bash this bum," or something. For an outro he could do a Hulk Hogan like victory pose and say "You're lucky to still be breathing." Another outro- the Rhino charges off screen stating "I got more things to smash."Some of those aren't half bad, thanks. :)
