I'm just planning on doing these animations from scratch. I've learned my lesson, it's much less hassle just making my own sprites rather than adjusting someone else's work to match. Then I don't have to worry about matching styles, resizing and searching for the right sprite. Since I can, I will.
As for the new video game, the studio Platinum Games has done really good with the properties they worked with so far, so I expect they'll do good things here too.
