25x25 small portrait

ok so i know through reading on here that the small portraits are connected to the chars pallette, and if you dont connect them it looks messed up in game, so my question is how do you make it so mugen dosent require to be connected to the small portrait   ? thax to any who can help.

All colours on the small portrait must be contained in the character palette. The small portrait should be added unshared.

End. That's it, all you can do. Unless you use custom lifebars that use a custom small portrait, that will be seperated, the select screen one can't be.
