Your Game of The Year
« on: December 19, 2010, 12:57:49 AM »
Every games magazine and site have their ranking so id like to know which one is your favourite, no need for a poll or anything fancy; any genre, console, PC, mobile, adult games, whatever. Everything counts in my book so name your game and 1 or 2 lines of why to make it interesting.

According to my GF: Bayonetta

Why: Hot girl, good control, kinda challenging, great music, good story, varied gameplay and great system.

Acording to Vyn: Lost Planet 2

Why: Masterfully mixes many elements i love in a game: Third person shooter, level-up based unlocks and upgrades, character customizing, huge bosses, mech riding, great cinematics, epic campaign, couch co-op FTW and of course comic relief astro-mexicans.

Seeing as how I only own a Wii and PS3, I'd have to say the best one I've played yet is DKCR

According to myself: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Waited the whole year for it and did not regret getting it. Even though I got collector's edition.. mostly for the soundtrack and the cool artwork book... I kinda feel cheated out b/c that soundtrack is on a dvd... a video dvd.. and I cant extract the thing to put on my mp3!!!! GRRRR!!!!!!!

Mass Effect 2 all the way!

Just listen to how epic the music is! It really helps suck you into the story.

Hmm i cant really say many games to me were game of the year this time. I havent played Black ops yet.
so ill say Bayonetta. It set off the year right.

why?: Although it wasnt a fighting game it had me pick it up to play again with its high replay value and more unlockable stuff in a new game. Hella cool stages. Cool music. High octane action. humorous. & Controls were fun to use.

Lots and lots of supers so f*ckin what

If betas counted LBP2 all the way. As they don't it is a big toss up of:

Red Dead Redemption- One of my favorite games of all time. I named my kitten after John Marston. Undead Nightmare only makes it better.

Asssassin's Creed Brotherhood- Truly a great game. Too bad the Animus glitch has me waiting until they patch it. Needs a little work on the multiplayer, lots of glitches, but when it works, it is a fun experience.

Honourable mentions:

Black Ops- I liked CoD, but MW2 didn't make me yell too loud, my favorite part was Ghost, and he dies. This was a big step up.

Eyepet, Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves and Sports Champions- Great uses of the motion controller.

Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2- Great games, tons of depth, Gamefly game limits are death

ModNation Racers (That was this year right?)- Another of my all time favorites. Amazing customization.

Awesome Choices brotha. I couldn't agree with you more about those which I'm about to explain. My games of the year are.

Bayonetta

Why: The same exact reasons as Vyn. Great gameplay, Great Storyline, Very Sexy and... must I say more?

Heavy Rain

Why: One of the most complete interactive games to date. It had a great Storyline that always kept you guessing and it was VERY tense. Me and my friends played this game and all of us experienced different things and saw different events.

It's hard for me to get addicted to games nowadays, but out of all the games I played this year, these two are the only games that I had to force myself to stop playing for a few days so I wouldn't finish them too quickly. Lost Planet 2 was also great when you play online with friends. I still don't know why it did so poorly.
All in all though, this was a great year for games. It's been a while.

I think Batman Begins on the GBA is.  For a movie game it was pretty good, even though it was on the GBA.

street fighter ex 4
When was that released?  :P

Super Street Fighter 4
A very solid game that proved an old school 2D fighting game CAN look 3D, but still play like its 2D ancestor.
