2nd Annual Kawaks Tournament
« on: June 15, 2009, 12:29:04 PM »
Yep, I'm at it again! The kawaks tournament hits its second year!

Now, the kawaks we'll gonna use is Kawaks 1.59. This year is capcom fighters(2-on-2). The game will be chosen by the champion of last year's kawaks tournament, so as soon he replies we'll know what game will be next.

I'll also need someone who can record the matches because all players will be in the same party. I dont know which server we'll use. I will take suggestions, but it has to be lag free.

If I were you. I would get at least every 2-on-2 capcom fighting game they have for kawaks because the champion will really make a great decision. If you want more info about the tournament, PM me and Ill tell you. I'll also post the rules of the tournament in my forum.

Get ready because this time, its REALLY going down! :)

I'll take any suggestions right now about the game and its region(the reason i'm choosing the region is because some gamers like that region because of its extra stuff).

u guys should do the tourney on ggpo because u cant really call mame or kawaks a fair fight because some ppl have more delay then other ppl depending on where u live. On ggpo there is no delay at all its like playin in the arcade and the games never lag out like mame does. Plus u don even have to record cuz ppl can watch ur matches if 2 ppl were playing it would say for example nutpatch vs ghost all u had to do is click nutpatch vs ghost and everyone could watch the match without it laggin..

i agree with that in fact...my internet connection at home is not the fastest(in fact it's pretty low,640 kbps) so something like that would clearly benefit everyone like me with slow connections
The question is:are we even able to play games from Mame or Kawaks on it?

Most people can't use GGPO due to requirements of Adobe AIR and Port Forwarding.

It's highly recommended we stick with Kawaks, As it is an Emulator we can All Agree on.

Also, I think it'd be fair if we played something that Isn't the VS Series. The VS Series is kinda overused in tourneys, And People can find exploits and combos that are non stop, For example, Some characters can hit players on the ground before being able to move after a huge combo to continue with yet ANOTHER combo, No thanks to the lack of a dizzy counter, Thus making it a breeze for Tourney masters and not giving Tourney Beginners a single chance, I'm not saying I Will have a problem with this, I'm just saying this for other people's Sake.

GGPO is gonna get messy. People have to install stuff and register. Not many people are gonna want to do it. I say keep it Kawaks since this is a Kawaks tournament afterall. But GGPO is better.

Well this is called the KAWAKS tourney, if you want a GGPO one, you should make your own tourney.  GGPO doesn't work for alot of people.  Anyway, I MIGHT enter..  *Sees self being eliminated in round one*

i don't really like the idea of me picking up the game because i'm the current champion...i rather prefer to be a decision among the potential participants
Have you guys ever thought of Marvel Super Heroes instead of the crossover vs series?
That game is pretty good, not to mention that it needs more strategy as you can only use one character
