You may need to update your router. I had the same problem with the Wii and XBL until I updated it.

Well mine is pretty recent and when I called the Xbox live tech support they told me that I needed to open some ports and thats what I did but it didnt make a difference

did u run your router in dmz mode with a custom made ip address for the ps3.

EDIT:

*RULES*

- All characters except Gouken and Seth are allowed.
- Matches will timer will be 99, match rounds set to win a match with be 3 (meaning an individual player has to win 3 rounds to win a match)
- Double Elimination
- You must report to me saying who won and who lost so that I may adjust the brackets accordingly
- You must have fun

- If you can please record the matches and post in this section. I like most ppl want to see some action too.

FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE BUSY:

Don't worry about not being on that day (this only applys to those who have jobs and work that day and wont be able to be on until later) as long as you are signed up for the tournament you will get your chance to play. If a lot of problems stir up meaning people not being able to play then we can just have it as though who can play on that day play while others play on a different day. Also another thing we will do to make it fair for who fights who is after the final bracket(s) have been made every one will choose a certain number for example, 1 through 11 or however many people are on the brackets. That way it will be easier and more fair plus we can make it odds with odds and evens with evens ok. So just post what number you want and you will be group with odds if you chose an odd number or evens if you chose an even number.

And since theres been an update in the rules looks like its happening so is this thing close to starting or do the brackets still have to be made?

well as far as the 360 side goes asian jesus is doing it. im doing the ps3 side so i wont know whos fighting who. brackets are being made today and tomorrow if we need the extra day. but it is subject to change as more participants join if any.

im done with sf4 online today, I challenged 17 ppl and they were all ken and ryu's and akumas, Is that what everyone plays with, there are ways around fireball spammers and SRK wake up attacks, come on ppl, make the fight entertaining. Bad enough they chose a shoto, I instantly lost respect for my opponent. not to mention I defeated them because I already knew what they were going to do when picking those characters.

This is starting to become worse than mugen......

Haha I feel ya bro. Although, I'm primarily a Ryu player. XD
Other than that, my friends keep telling me about all the Ken's he's played online. He said the ones that use their headsets are worse.

i'm a zangief user! but every once and a while i use honda or blanka... i love fighting ken and ryu and akuma.... everyone fights the same with them...

Double elimination consists of winners and losers brackets.

If you lose once, you go to the losers bracket. Lose twice, then you're out of the tourney.
Since there's not a lot of people in each system tourney, this works out nicely

Well I agree and disagree at the same time, because the key to Ryu is zoning and Ryu is one of the best projectiles users and for a game that is similar to SF2 which in tournaments was based mainly on projectile battles. I dont think its bad to spam projectiles as long as thats not your only skill, no what I mean

well they spam projectiles with ryu to rule the battle and make u jump which works well against non projectile users. there is an easy way around it though. if someone is spamming u just have to deal with it and make them never want to use another projectile again or at least make them scared enough to the point where they use it sparingly. yea there are a lot of ryus and kens. i used to main ryu back in the day because i got tired or seeing ken but in sf4 i never touch him. he is truly a beginners character and he has the easiest hitting ultra. i play with fei, gen, rose, sakura, and guile. gen and rose both are my best and fei next. my sakura and guile need a little work since with guile i have fallen out of sync with him but imma bring him back so i can start murdering with him like i do in hd and the old school ones.
