Hi everyone
some months ago i got a commission from Back Dragon to bring life to cheetah
Well i started working in something, but wasn't happy at all(you can see how i came into the design in this image.)

you can see why i wasn't happy about it.
Cheetah looked like a teenager.
Well i started visiting some old folders and found sprites by prime op(that i now discovered are open source) and an old psylocke walk i did for a remix i was planning.
so i started changing and it worked.
so i present you the final concept of cheetah(but not final touch ups)

It would be great to see a good Cheetah other than the one nade from tha JLA game!! Maybe u can incorporate some of her sprites on your wip too and use her as a one of her bases!!  :w00t:

I don't care about the design. Everything you sprite is gold. Besides, Wonder Woman needs her arch enemy.

Yeah, the pants could cover more of her legs and crotch.

One other thing I'd suggest is used some resized Felicia hands. It'd help make her more vicious IMO

He gave me total freedom, since its based on the incarnation he asked for.

The tail is small cheetahs have large/long tails.

Nice progress so far. The back walk does look a bit rough but I'm sure you can make it look better.

please try to not judge  this one too hard
tail movement is not ok, as the hair, as the size as the movement at all
but its just a first test to see how is it going and if all shadings are on place.

looks good so far but I think u should draw the other leg too. if you compare to the other one you did u can see how the other legs makes things look better. I know its more angled but if you can see the other arm, then you should see the other leg.. shading its good man.. its amazing the things you do with all this females characters.. I just wish one day I can get that good at spritting females.. so for now, I must practice everyday  :cool

yeah, a lot of the kof characters specially those from earlier games don't have good animations.. when I use those as bases, I still add a frame or 2 and any changes I see that I might need to get the animation smooth. still you can probably add it. maybe the first animation can help you..

This is what I did:

Adding the missing frame works too, but I'd slightly rotate it towards the right (cmd+t is your friend)

Always observe which body parts would move which way. Especially in a run like that you can observe the sqash and stretch animation technique

well, im back to work in the walk animation

i started a Psylocke remix wip years ago(more than 5, before catwoman release) with psychic katana, more moves, a new walk , smart pal and lots of new stuff from crimson dawn story arc(my favorite)
it was far from complete, and got cancelled after Eclipse left mugen.

well i found some leftovers sometime ago, and decided to reuse some of them to cheetah

base for walk was from psylocke from X-men Cartoon Maker Pc game.

its resized, i can't find the original file, but you can't even imagine how hard it was from spriting(i couldn't draw from scratch back at the time).

*a Beserker Barrage like attack
*a move where she clings onto the wall and then pounces toward the opponent
*a grapple move where she jumps onto the enemy and slashes their face up
*a buff-up hyper where she gains power from Urzkartaga, the plant god that gave her her powers

Not bad thought I think that her right leg is a bit shorter and fatter. Also when she turns maybe u can keep some grey color on her left leg also!! :)

Here's some feedback:

1) Try to align the frames properly - then you will see if it looks alright.
2) If you use a ground line, use it!
3) When the legs are spread the furthest, the head, the hips and the shoulders go down making her smaller.
4) The hair movement needs more work
5) I like the hand movement you made! Keep up the good work!

What I meant with the shoulders is that when she spreads her legs her upper body goes down too, making her smaller than if she would stand straight :)

Can't wait to see the run finished :) The moment you are done with it you should maybe think about adding a backleg that is slightly placed differently than the front leg to give the animation a bit more volume :)

she is not such a deep character, isn't it?
i was looking for references for hypers, best can happen is a team up with other cheetahs(not really) and other WW villains(giganta, circe)

I don't like the idea of a hyper of her teaming up with other WW villains (on the off chance they get made in the future) so how about these ideas:

*A grab hyper where she trips the opponent and starts slashing their face repeatedly
*A Hyper Beserker Barrage esque hyper
*A rolling suplex hyper
*A hyper where she summons a machine gun and fires it
*A buff-up hyper where she summons power from Urzkartaga, the plant god that gave her her appearance and powers.

1-i am full of moves slashes, it gets a little boring because of catwoman and black cat.im converting milena grab for use
2-same as 1
3-whats a rolling suplex?the german rolling suplex?the wrestling move?sounds interesting
4-i saw some pictures of her using a machine gun, but i dont see her firing lots of fire guns
5-i couldnt find images of uzkartaga, i was planning an intro with that too, but i was trying to find references of that plant and couldnt get anything interesting

* 3 - Right. Figured since she could also have some grapple techniques as well
* 4 - Like I said in 1, it's hard to come up with a lot of real diverse moves

i read that she have a really strong tail so i was thinking about exploring that

Thats a really nice start. Why rip it? Just rotoscope  it/ trace over the video? Many different programs will let you save out the video as frames of which you can upload into any programs and trace.

Quick feedback:
- Her legs are really long in some frames
- Her upper body doesn't show much motion (maybe you can have her pull her arms to the body when she kicks)
- Why did you decide on a double kick? These kind of attacks almost always look off in a 1 vs 1 game

Also, how do you make your gifs? Why don't you align them properly? Do you need some help there? When you can align them properly, you will see much improvements and will be able to work more efficient from the beginning of an animation :)

i just got them converted, and when you resize you get approximated sizes, because you resize to fit capcom 2d that is slightly different from natural female forms, so once you start shading, i also change the position to make the movement look better, and adjust sizes manually.
