Glad to be back folks.  Here is the last version I released since the move.  He is also in the Database.

I like this protoman, however there are some things that bother me. For his proto shot (D, DF, F, punch) a flash doesn't seem necessary. I think that should go. I don't like the hyper portrait at all either, no offense but I think you should see Sonicx's tutorial on easy hyper portraits. The only other thing that bothers me is the sound file. Its pretty bad. the scratchiness is annoying and for the slash hyper, you should go with slicing sounds instead. as for the beams, you should use that beam hit sound that ryu, cyclops etc. use. you know, that certain sound that plays after the shinkuu hadouken in MVC. I always thought beams shouldn't sound like punching :/  The slashes should obviously have slashing sounds cause well.... they're slashes :P

Well thats all I have to say. I'm not criticizing your work or anything and I hope you don't take it that way :) It's just how I feel about this creation. with those improvements it would be even better!  You did a great job coding and spriting him though The sprites are godly :o

I don't take it as bad criticism, I think it's good bug reporting at the very least, your personal opinion. You are pointing out flaws while coming up with alternatives for Chaotic to start with. Good job BigJ.

thing is..in a previous version..there WAS a full portrait..sort of an arms crossed, "hmph!" sort of pose..and I lost it, I think it was even in my last roster vide before my computer went craphouse crazy

I hate to complain, but there is an intregal move missing.

In both Megaman II:Power Fighters and Bass's Ending in Megaman & Bass, Protoman had a technique where he spewed flames out of his buster, as if it was a flamthrower. While no name was given to it in the English translation, the Japanese version calls it "Blues Assault". I was HOPING that Proto Strike would be this move because only Megaman, X and Zero have Shoryuuken-type attacks...

Other than that, it's a great character.

jus got a question. umm wat is the rolling sweep supposed to be used for. i mean i keep trying to fit it into my moves when i play as him but is a lil slow and is always blocked. will u be improving this move  or sumthin.

agreed. he's a tad too slow, and goes up too high in the air with it to be sneaky, and comboing with it is HARD and not all that rewarding.

I liked how you got rid of that animation from his hyper where the "lightsaber" dramatically beams out of his arm for the release of EOH; that intro was a little corny. Also, is it possible to block that hyper?

Great character, but a few concerns. He has a big problem with his combo chaining. He can't chain all of his attacks, and then he can't chain his light attacks to his standing attacks. Also he seems to not have the ability to cancel into all of his specials and supers. Also I think his shield charge (D, DF, F, Punch) should have knock back because when you hit an enemy with it they recover just as quickly as you and they can beat you to a counter attack. Not a great reward for a landed attack. Also I don' like how his throw works. You don't have to hold forward to activate it, you only need to press Hard Punch while standing close, this can mess up hard punch cancels if you have an opening and you can start the combo with hard punch.

With a little work, he could be improved a bit if you let me. I can fix all of the problems except for the shield charge move and his throw moves I mentioned if I'm allowed. If not, then it's ok, he's still a great character.

well you know that protoman normal buster is bigger (but not more powerful) than his charged buster shot right...well i was wondering if you ever thought of incorporating that into protoman though i really doesnt matter i guess

I've noticed that you can combo his uppercut after the shield charge, and hte uppercut knocks the opponent away. sometimes you can even add his blaster hyper to the end of that.
