Mr. Mind
Had a wild and crazy idea, long time ago, of making a mugen WIP based on the Wicked Worm himself, Mister Mind. He's one of my favorite villains, because he's so goofy-looking... yet has become quite possibly one of the most sadistic villains in the DC universe.
The idea would've been that he'd be a really small little guy and most of his moves would consist of "run-ins/assists" from his various underlings and allies (like the Monster Society of Evil for instance) and maybe a super where he'd turn into that "Mothra From Hell" creature we saw in 52.
Sadly... it only got to the point of this animated pose that someone put into a gif for me.

Have tried to go back to it, even tried to add a little "voice box" as well... but... never got far.
American McGee's Alice
Got this idea a few months back. Basically inspired by all these "special guest characters" we've been getting in fighting games lately (Sonic and Snake in SSBB, Cole McGrath in SFxT, etc. etc.) thought "who would make for an interesting guest character for like a Darkstalkers game??" and it hit me... American McGee's Alice. She has quite the repertoire already, so thinking up moves wouldn't be too hard. XD

The Escapist
Another Pulp/Golden Age-inspired hero (ala the Rocketeer), BUT figured I'd need to read up on him some more before putting him into my little "Pulp Fighting Game" concept. So... for right now... he's in here.

Sherlock Holmes
Made this very recently. Used Avdol from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and my little Sherlock statue bust from Lupin's Treasure Room.

If it WERE to be a mugen I'd imagine it to be a big mixture of various Holmeses from across the media landscape. Though it would mean having to try and create his made-up "Baritsu" martial arts. XD
Ryoko
Inspired by reading about that proposed "Anime Battle Royal" project, went and fished this old thing out. Not finished sadly... and can't for the life of me remember how I made her face, all I know is that I used Morrigan's body.

Been on a bizarre kick as of late... making various sprites based on 'National Patriotic Symbol' superheroes... or as TV Tropes would call it... Captain Geography.
Captain China

Main character from a small comic company called 'Excel Comics', basic idea is a different take on the 'Captain America' concept when he was brought back in the Marvel Universe in the 60's. Except this guy was a staunch Maoist-era Communist... and awakens in a much different Modern China. Its a pretty neat little concept.

Could've gone with the original costume (which looked like the one belonging to Vindicator of Alpha Flight) but I really really dug this version of the costume. Don't really know all the details about this incarnation, where this version of the Captain got his powers... but the original got his powers from aliens.

Guardian of the Republic (France)

French superhero from the company Hexagon. While the creation of him was inspired by guys like Captain America and Captain Britain, the Guardian of the Republic is more along the lines of characters like Doc Savage and the Phantom... a generational title passed from father-to-son, and each Guardian is heavily/intensively trained from birth. No superpowers, just one big cool fighter.

Don't know if I've ever shared this old one here. *can't remember* The first true 'Patriotic-Themed Superhero' in American comics, (debuting a good year before Captain America) from the folks at Archie Comics. Made this sprite during the brief tenure the 'Red Circle' heroes had at DC... having REALLY liked the costume concept they made for him during this.

Captain Confederacy (Alternate History story)

This obscure superhero from the late 80's-early 90's that takes place in an alternate reality where due to the South having won the Civil War... the formerly United States is more or less fragmented into different territories (think along the lines of something like Crimson Skies). Despite his codename, despite the initial subject matter... he begins to fight for equality and civil rights. It's a neat little alternate history comic, especially if you love such literary concepts.
Made using, surprise... Captain America sprites! :D The hair comes from a mixture of the Unknown Soldier assist character from MvC1 and one of the many Superman custom mugen sprites.

Guns from Jill Valentine and Bruce McGivern, also took McGivern's holster. Also used Birdy's ponytail.
