Here is my current Wip.  Woodman.  This is going to be fun Megaman 2 characters are my favorite.
I haven't had much time recently but when I get some time, this is what I have been working on.  :)
A special thanks goes to UltraRoboninja for starting this wonderful character some time ago and giving it to me to complete.
There is More then enough sprites and angles made so I have lots to work with.   ::salute::

I have a few ideas for leaf moves after looking at sprites of him from various games he appeared in.  (MM2 Nes, PB Arcade, MM8 Saturn, SAR PSX1)
And I got one crazy idea for a hyper which is gonna be interesting to sprite.  (Non leaf related) :-"

That stage... I finally figured out why that stage as always bothered me.

Woodman's forest is dark in the background. It is an actual forest, not a concrete jungle like, well Concrete Man. And even then, Concrete Man's forest area is dark in the background too.

I can fix that up, then. All I did really was use the background of Searchman's boss room of Megaman 8. I'll customize it to look more like it should. ;D Also, awesome stuff so far, Laspacho. Another amazing WIP to look forward to. :cool

why not put the day stage for Woodman and the night stage for Plantman (or other robot) ?

I very like all two versions  ;D

Woodman basicly already does Razor Leaf. When he throws the Leaf shield at you.  Or when he makes leafs fall from the sky.

A tornado or a spray of leafs would be cool for hypers

OMG!...

here you got some ideas...

can Wood Man summon a giant tree that can hurt the opponent?...

He could also have an attack that covers the screen in a leaf storm - it does very little damage but it makes everything very hard to see. The only problem is I'm not sure how to make it effect the AI, as they don't look at the screen like we do

^ Seth Z's spider-man has a similar attack, where the screen goes black except for him.  Used on AI, this SEEMS to somehow mess them up, so he might have cracked the code there, but it could just be the placebo effect for all I know... Anyhow, maybe Seth knows how to do this.

Never noticed.  Ultrarobotninja did both of those kicks before Quint came along so no worries, coincidence. 
Those get hits are racking my brain at the moment.   :P

Nope they are not released.  The sprites for Toadman and Snakeman are done.  They still need more coding.  I plan to release both around the same time with other stuff one they are finished.   ;)

I still need one more regular intro at the moment, I'm not to concerned with special intro's I would rather work on other stuff for the character.

You know what would be funny, but probably imposable to do....

If wodman gets burnt from an attack, as an automatic reaction move, he runs arround burring and freaking out, but if he runs into you, it hurts and you get burnt.

Maybe it could be a hyper that is only triggerd on a counter move, done when the attack causes burning...... :-??

lol i would probably laughing so much i would get hit while trying to jump, dash back and basically flee from firewood woodman. :D

The intro I have already shows a big tree log that turns into woodman.  One of thd prior pics shows megaman pointing to it.  :)

That's an easy fix, the thumb is on the wrong side of the hand, just close off that thumb and it's fixed.

Hyper idea: Leaf Shield Blizzard/Storm

Hope I have an imaginative coder for that, we'll see what we come up with.

He definitely needs the standard move from MM2/MM8, be able to run around with the leaf shield and be able to use it at will like when Megaman has it.  A standard leaf throw which blows up into some smaller leaves, similar to Metalman throwing a blade, would probably work well too.

another idea: as a special attack, Wood Man will summon Tree roots to catch the opponent to then summon a carnivore plant to eat the opponent, and then spit it...

I think it's a uppercut you can tell by the motion lines coming from the arm.

If you find any good ones in your travels around the net let me know.  I haven't started getting sounds as of yet, I probably should start looking around for some.  I have Japanese voices for Woodman at the moment until something better comes along.

Ok here is a progress report for Woodman.

All basics complete. Punches, kicks, jumps, run, get hits, knock backs, dead, loose by time, shocks, ect.
I also have sprites for 4 Specials and 1 Hyper completed.

What still needs to be done: Throw, Dodge, 1 more special, 2 more hypers, 1 more intro. Then everything needs to be coded of course.  So sooner or later when this gets coded I can make a fun video.

Great progress, almost done! :thumbsup: I have idea for specials and hyper. For specials:
- Like in this video from BN

Woodman should put his hands on the earth and stake appears at some distance from him. (distance could vary like shortest for light attack and longest for heavy)
- He could roll like log (something like Sub-Zero's slide)
Also I was thinking about dropping logs on enemy's head or send them rolling on floor, but two above sounds better for me.
For hyper - Woodman puts his hands on earth and many stakes one by one appears like in scheme
/\  /\  /\ /\  /\
|| ||E|| || ||W
So attack wont be flawless and enemy can hide in spaces between stakes.
Second version of this hyper I thinked about was same but stakes appear in XXXXXX pattern, when 5th stake appears 1st disappears and only way to avoid those is jump over them.

Maybe it would be better if he rolls like a log across the the screen, then jumps up in the air and repeats the steps like three or for time. It would have that classic boss fight feel, where you have to learn his pattern to avoid it.

I have Woodman putting both arms in the air for a winpose.  For a taunt he hit's his chest like Donkey Kong.  In a hyper he hits his chest also but in a different pose.  I really gotta finish up his sprites soon, I'm close.  I've just been distracted working on Needleman and playing with all the new characters recently.  :)

Haven't had much time life has been really busy more so then expected.  All my site visits lately have been on my droid.  I'll have time soon.  As I recall woodman needs a throw, one intro, and 2 hypers.  Then coding.  I like the frozen sprite, I could probably make it once the other stuff is done.  I already made a different shocked sprite already.  The hand on that pb shock always looked kinda weird to me.

If for whatever reason life becomes too busy to the point of being unable to complete projects, you could always upload whatever that's unfinished to be open source.  For example, you could always make sprites, but the coding you can leave to whoever wants to do it.

Just a thought.

That sasquach idea will be woodman's throw.  I also know what the hypers will be.  I just gotta make it.  As for coding I make the sprites then give to someone else to code.  Lately for my latest characters I have added all the basics and then the remainder of the coding has been done by someone else.

Ok back in business since my longer then expected break.  Woodman can now dodge and has a jump forward, similar to what I did with Toadman's jump forward.  Also some other random stuff I needed to do.  I'm looking at spriting a hyper next.  
No screenies yet.  I'm hoping to finish off the sprites in the next couple weeks so I can move on to Needleman and other misc stuff that my older characters need for RMM.

Man life is busy..  Ok, I just finished the sprites for the one hyper I have been working on for a while.  Throw will be next.

I was trying to think up another special that is non leaf related.  This sounds like a neat idea but besides for having him fall on his face, which would have no range whatsoever, I'm not sure what I can really do with it.

I have one thing to say about the Woodman level three Hyper...Use Razor Leaf!
I think for the hyper where Wood Man grows big he should stand in place, throw a couple of punches, then grow a vine/leaf sword and make one big swing at the enemy.

He's right about the fingers. Also are they suppose to white are are you going to change them to the color of his face?

Not sure I know what you mean.  I'm not planning on making to many sprites with Woodman in his big form.  Actually this hyper is the only thing that remains to be sprited for Woodman, I have just been working on other things.  I'll get to it eventually.  If someone is interested in making this, and has the time before me, are welcome to Pm me, I'll send the one sprite one made for it thus far.

Does Woodman already have a hyper where he sends out a giant leaf storm? That would be a great idea, or maybe giant roots can shoot out from the ground and hit the opponent. With Woodman like this, the posiibilities may be endless.

Happy New Years!  Don't worry we are still working on the Rmm project.  Lately I have been working to code Woodman on the Rmm template so it is easier on whomever eventually codes him.  I'm pretty much done so he just needs the specials, hypers, and power sets coded.  I noticed somehow I lost my weapon change sprites so I'll have to remake those.

I'm looking for sprites for a Log trap and a Bear trap?  Something similar to what Rocket Raccoon does.

Any chance someone might be interest in lending a hand in spriting them or know of anything that could be used for it?

if you have hi rez footage of what your talking about with raccoon maybe i can help.

a bear trap is easy to sprite. would it just be placed on the ground and snap up when triggered?

Remember that puddle enemy in Astro Man's stage in Mega man 8? You could use it as a base.

At the 34 second mark he does the bear trap and then the swinging log.
At the 2:13 mark he does the same combo.

Hehe, that reminds me that I also have a WIP to work on.
I really should go back to TopMan eventually, and I already decided on a solution for my problem with the Sonic Boom throwing sprites.

I did some revamp on fx and codes, tweaked stuff and added a new throw - HCF+P: Giant Swing
