So, I finally decided to make the topic. :P

Skullman, my actual first WIP. He's about close to being completed, sprite wise. I just have to finish aerial and crouching attacks, as well as some specials/hypers.
I work on him and Bizarnage, switching between the two.

He is currently being coded by Canibus2000/Bowasiel.

I like the couching sprites and the blocking sprites, good job.

I have a special idea.  You can have him summon skulls similar to Testament's skull special.

However, as some know, my laptop with ALL of my spritework is pretty much dead at the moment, so all work on Skullman is halted at this point. *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

Whenever I get it figured out what is wrong with it, I will continue working on him. So I hope that everything will be fine soon. %%-

Skullman's work has continued, and he now has color separation, thanks to Canibus/Bowasiel. :)

The colors were designed by him as well. They are: Normal, Megaman, Protoman, Inversed, Wolverine, and the color separation pallete.

For some time I was trying to figure what was missing in his face. Now I know, you forgot to put a nose on him! You can take my suggestion or not, it's all up to you!

Unnecessary to say that he MUST have the Skull Shield. For suggestions, he could shot skulls, similary to Tam-Tam in Samurai Shodown. Also an old suggestion is a winpose where he take off his own head and play with it, while laughing maniacally!

Chinnen in Matrimelee has a capcom-styled skull fireball that'd be tight.

Also his torso and head look way too much like Rockman. Since it's in the same position in nearly everything you've shown, wouldnt be much work and it'd look much better to use this one's chest, shoulders and head.

Edited my post, sorry about the leeching image. It was fine until about an hour later. Anyway, Watched the videos and the progress so far is fine - a bit farther along than I thought which'd make that swap a hassle, but I still think it'd be worth the trouble.

Updated head still doesn't look as good as that power battle styled one. What you have's fine for now, but when you do update it, you shouldn't sell short. Also, I wanna say Alice has a Skull Barrier in either Asura Blade or Buster - and if she does it'd be an awesome looking one. Might be mistaken on that.

I think the first one looks good, but I'd just make the eyes look a little more serious. Too cartoony atm.

OK your original head looked good . But it did look like it was edited from Megaman too much . Which was fine in my opinion . But if you are trying to really capture his look , he does have a bigger awkward head . So these do look better for that reason

One with a smaller head, or the one with the slightly bigger head.

Hey Manic?  Skullman looks really good, and I love the MM4 bosses (even Dustman!), but from your sig, that breathing animation looks kind of funny... like his chest is inflating, and all of the ribs are melting into one.  Of course, this might have been changed by now, but I just wanted to point it out in case you hadn't noticed.

That really doesn't strike me as a hyper, but as more of an intro.
For a hyper, how about the infamous Skullball? It's a glitch from the original MM4 where, in a debug, he would shoot buster shot that was shaped like his head.

You know, Zer0, I was thinking that whenever Skullman launches an actual buster blast, it'd have something like a skull inside. I saw it on the Megaman Webcomic "In Wily's Defense". I thought it was a nice touch.

Smart paletting him to support superhero palettes doesn't seem at all practical to me; time that'd be better spent on those skull shoulder pads. Marrow's attack looks cool though. Interesting use of that standing HK.

I think spriting tips is a little harsh - it's hard to make Drill man seem like a cool, so the design is fine. All the same, the shading is pretty off - Cyberbots and shadow lady both have drill that would totally work...

Speaking of Drillman I noticed that your edits in general have a darkstalkers-ish black lining around them. Is that intentional? Looking at MvC Rock and Skullman's strikers, not sure it works... i.e., the darkest shade around Skullmans white bits should be a gray at maybe 89,89,89.

I still haven't really gotten used to using colored outlines yet. I might change them whenever I can, though. All of the other MvC styled Megaman characters do have black outlines as well.

And according to Spidermew, helpers are not going to be used in this game. So, I might make it into a hyper like Captain Commando does.

Yeah i know  :DxDie but I havent found better Death sprites :( but dont worry I maybe wont use that because ppl dont like that concept... is difficult to get ideas when ur power is a simple buster and a skull shield  :DxDie We need more ideas

Maybe Ill try to get some ideas from Marrow and Zabel... May anyone suggest me another char?

Yeah I will give a try ^^ Im gonna try to give him too bone weps and long range bone attacks extending his bones

The skull sheild power, maybe it can be big skulls with their own health bar that orbit and can break, and they would prevent Skullman from taking damage.

Maybe give him a bone throw for the lolz. It could be a neat throw where he grabs the opponent then pulls out a bone does Dhalsims punch throw except he hits the opponent in the head with the bone.

Well here is a hyper idea, you could have him summon a giant skull that would come down and suck the other player into its mouth and chew them up and then spit them out. Another idea that I have you could have skullman send his skull shield over to the other player and make it surround them and then make it start crushing them.

Skullman will come in the machine  and he will hit the enemy a few times dashing ( Like the hyper of Arthur) and then he will come down and shoot him

Gattling gun is one of the only good ideas posted recently - makes tons more sense than a giant Skullcopter or something. He's a fighting robot, not Batman. Fighting robots are typically loaded with guns. I wonder why the old head is being used in all the concepts you guys make, though...

The secondary head is going to be used in the version 2, which I think I might've said before, maybe not. I have about 500+ sprites done on him so far, and will redo them with the newer head once they're all completed.

I agree with ANC. I think the gattling gun is a great idea. Unlike most Robot Masters, Skullman was created specifically for combat (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Skull_Man (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Skull_Man)) so having a wide array of weaponry built in makes perfect sense. It's definitly cooler than struggling to make all his moves bone related. I also think the big skull tank is unnecessary.

Ok so skull man is  a warbot right. Well he's got the gat in the chest, and he's got the arm cannon and the skull shield, what war bot would be complete without a melee weapon?

Maybe he can from a sword of some kind, a very early stage energy blade or even perhaps a bone sword, for like a hyper move or something. Or bone-chucks!

I agree with you on that. When MvC-styled stuff's involved, you can expect everything to be over-the-top anyway.  8)

I think he should be ready by then. Thought, that may be changed at any time for any reason. The version released will not be the one with the newer head and sprites, but the one with the older version of the head and sprites, and after that one is released, then I will work on the sprites for the newest version.

There seems to be far too much space between Skullman and the left side of his cloak. Reduce the space between them and it would look much better. You might also want to give it a black outline so it matches the other sprites. Other than that it looks good.

This is about 45 mins of editing roughly, but you can probably even transition between the third, or clean up what i did and futher animation it. I like that idea for a winpose tho, great thinkin'.

It'll be released along with Skullman. So you're going to have to wait for him as well. :P

I think I'd use those shoulderpads. They're pretty nice looking. As for a custom drawn stage, I would do that, but I can be lazy at times, but I might get to that at some time, so you'll just have to wait and see. :P

With this one if you darkend the "skin" to black, make the eyes red with the whites black, it would be Sniper Joe, if the sholders are seperated from the rest of the body, turn them gold, the yelloworange parts white, and that head jewl gold, then you have a sniper joe palette.  :thumbsup:

When he's ready for a beta release, then yes.. As of late, I've been very busy with schoolwork, so I haven't really progressed on anything lately, nor have had any contact with Bowasiel. But don't worry, I haven't dropped him at all. :thumbsup:

Well, I haven't been too fond of Skullman's old light kick set. It seemed a bit too weak and not too creative, so I've decided to start on a new one. I've based it off of a kick that Shadow does in Sonic Battle. :thumbsup:

Dont do that. Acey is one of the best coders in mugen. Your doing a wip for MMRM right.... so chances are Acey will probably have some involvement in your character too. up grade and you'll be good.  :-w

Those new sprites are a HUGE upgrade from the old ones the face has sooo much more detail. Just so you know where i am at with him i am on state 100-106 (The dashes)

Stance done
Walk Done
Jumps Done
Crouch Done

I will try to have all his basic attacks finished and coded by tonight or tomorrow. In the mean time anyone got any good ideas on Powersets before i get to them?

EDIT: Never-mind about the Powersets i just found the sprite sheet and it contains all the Powersets already, i was using individual sprites from a folder. Manic you did an amazing job keeping everything in order.

So, I finally decided to make the topic. :P

Skullman, my actual first WIP. He's about close to being completed, sprite wise. I just have to finish aerial and crouching attacks, as well as some specials/hypers.
I work on him and Bizarnage, switching between the two.

He is currently being coded by Canibus2000/Bowasiel.

Almost 10 years ago this character started getting sprited, well today i tell you that he is entering RMM in the next 48 hours. Manic you did an amazing job on his sprites..

SPECIALS

1.Powerblaster - Shoots cannon low, medium and upwards position. Also can shoot while in the air

2.Skullbarrier - Much different than woodmans leaf shield. Woodmans can be thrown this cannot, This causes damage to anyone in radius and has a much shorter duration. Can also block one attack or projectile without taking damage.

POWERSETS

1. Haunt - Throws out a Spirit at the cost of 10 health if hit on contact it causes damage to P2 and P1 gains 25 health. If you miss you get no health back and lose the 10 health from casting. This has low,Medium,High variations as well as air versions to.

2. Spikes - The video best describes this. Has air version as well

3. Missiles - Shoots a missile out of his chest a = slow b = normal c = Fast. Also variations of a,b,c also work while in air

4. Homing Missile - Self explanatory only one variation of this move.

5. Bone Joe - Bone joe comes down to throw some bones , A=1bone B=2Bones C=3Bones

6 Machine gun - A machine gun comes out of his chest and fires fast projectiles .. A=3bullets,B=4Bullets,C=5Bullets.

HYPERS

1. Machine gunner - His hands turn into machine guns firing projectiles in both directions (The sound glitch you hear in the video has already been fixed with the block sound, sorry for that.)

2. Laughing Skulls - Summons laughing skulls to do his bidding..

3. Hyper 3 is a mystery i wont reveal it only info i will give is it cost 3000 Power to use.

I am on my final tweaks of this character i hope everyone enjoys the video and Manic Thank you for making these sprites of this awesome character.

Ok quick update i added 2 more specials and im working on his hyper ultimate now. i fixed up a ton of stuff so the video is outdated by many hours of working on him.

Ok im going to upload a video later today of the 3 hypers (new effects on them not shown in previous videos) the new ultimate hyper and the new bone joe (powerset 5 ) animations i add into it, which looks a whole lot better.

I am just waiting on NEW custom basic animations than expect him in RMM He is 100% finished.

Also forgot to mention i will show off in video later to is i added 2 more special attacks (moves) one is a teleport, and the other is Invisibility. There is a off and on command for invisibility but if you choose to keep it active till the end than it will go away after 16.6 seconds (not ticks, ticks would be 1000). he also has custom intros and outros against Mega Man and Dr. Wily

So to sum things up he has 4 specials, 6 powersets and 3 hypers, the icing on the cake is his new custom animations which i already know they r gonna look sick.

I just wanna show off projectile collisions cause i can't get enough of watching him shoot the homing missile out the air.
All of the projectiles have collisions with others so expect lots of effects.

This is the move list, its more detailed in the read me but this gives you an idea of what his moves do.

SPECIALS

                The Powercost is 3000, and if you miss the initial attack you lose the 3000 power, so play wisely.

Any bugs (which i tested him for hours on every RMM character, so there should be no bugs what so ever (i had 0 bugs or glitches and i used his AI for tons of matches)) if there are bugs post in bug thread. He is complete and will be in RMM very soon.

The other characters have no jump sound just landing and super jump snds. Ill try to alter the sound in cool edit pro. Im sure i can come up with a sound. If not a friend of mine has a multi effects processor i can try to find something with that or create one from scratch.

EDIT: ok cool edit pro i bend the pitch on it, it is half as long and more to the point, sounds like bones break quick instead of dragging along, i even lowered the volumescale of the sound so now it does not over whelm over everything else. Remember though there will be music going and other fighters attacking so the jump sound will be very faint, but still there for a little extra.

Skull man is scary man, of course he makes me think of ghost. After i was done coding for a night and went to bed i start having nightmares. So i had to finish him up quickly. @^@
