Portrait Discussion

The first option is to use artwork from Evannrpg.
I have already acquired permission to use his work and he has a bunch of great portraits already created.

The second option, if people are interested in making them, is to make the MVC full face for a portrait.
We do have some great artists here that have made a few already. This would be a lot of work and I'm not sure if the interest would be there to do it.  
I know none of my characters have any made as of yet.



What are your thoughts?

Evanrpg´s works are awesome, but personally i think we should go for the 2 option.
The portraits takes less time than doing a full body drawing, also, Evanrpg dont have drawings of all Robot masters we are doing, so, to make more ilustrations for each new robot we want to add will be a pain (IMO)

Also, i offer volounter to make more portraits for other robots (i was planing to do one for Airman soon)
So my opinion overall its to use the second option, still i like a lot the first one, maybe we could use those wonderfull drawings to illustrate the menus, or for the cover.

I doubt that guy would want to draw the Sniper Joe-01 from mm7, though i do have an image simular to that, done by _kronos_

Im like er1 else. I like the first option. I checked out the guys work and he's got so talent but not all characters are there.

The second is better in my opinion because i like to see all the different faces side by side. so similar but so different.

Maybe a mixture whenever it's possible to? The head portrait with of Evannrpg's picture behind it or something?
Also, !E made some portraits for XR back when it was around. He made Cutman, Zero, Bass, and Protoman. His recent release of Fireman and Helmetless Megaman also feature head portraits in the same style. Though, if we were to use them, we might have to ask him again to use them. :-??

Maybe we can use the half heads for the menu, and the big ones for in battle.

I just dont have a half head one for Sniper Joe yet

If we can get enough portraits for all the characters in the game we can do option 2.  Otherwise we will do option 1 and use other portraits like the one mew used.

This would probably really help for the Megaman 2 characters.

Due to the Spacing issue with the Screen pack I think we should us the 2nd option, but evannrpg stuff would be great to us for the credit screens.

We have permission to use all of Etg's portraits, including the new Fireman portrait.  I also found a portrait for Metalman and Airman, that was never shown and lost until now, from back in the Project Reploid days that Etg made along with those above portraits.  Etg wants to update them first before we show them.   :thumbsup:

Wily had a portrait in Megaman: The Power Battles that was really ideal to use. Though, when compared to Bass' portrait, his was a bit too short, so I extended the bottom of his body a bit to match up more with the others. Also, I removed those weird lines on his nose. :thumbsup:

Updated Wily's portrait to have a 2 pixel outline to match the other portraits.


Here's a base I used for my Skullman, I removed the light blue parts of Megaman's head. :thumbsup:

Cool wily portrait modification Manic.  If we can get a portrait like this for all then yea we can just use Evannrpg's pictures for the endings.

For it to fit in the select screen it's going to need to be in the smaller portrait style like Fireman's portrait, but it can just be resided later if it is made in the bigger style.


Off the top of my head we still need portraits in this style for, in no particular order:

Servbot
Iceman
Elecman
Crashman
Woodman
Magnetman
Snakeman
Toadman
Pharaohman
Tenguman
Yellow Devil
Eventually SplashWoman and Crystalman
