If the jackhammer can make him teleport, there could be some strider type teleport attacks that could be done.

R-Shadow is the robot that created the Dimensions and traveled back from the mid-21st century (the year 2052) to attack Symphony City in the hopes of dueling and destroying Rock. Rock has no idea why this is the case, but when he confronts R-Shadow after defeating a few of his Robot Masters, he tells him that he is Rock from the future, "upgraded" by Dr. Wily and sent back on a mission to destroy his arch-enemy, Mega Man. In otherwords, he is Quint, a robot that Rock had faced and defeated five years ago.
When he managed to defeat R-Shadow in a "duel to the death," his true nature was revealed...R-Shadow was not, in fact, Quint, but rather he was a prototype robot that Wily designed when experimenting with the technology present in the future. When Wily used the Time Sled to travel to the year 2047 and reprogram Rock into Quint, he first experimented with the technology of the time, the first product of which was him, a robot which Wily called R-Shadow. However, Wily decided that in the end he had no use for him and he was discarded. It was for this reason that he had come to the year 2016: he wanted to prove Dr. Wily wrong and show Rock that he was the superior robot, even if he was, in the end, only a "clone."

No no, that's what I mean. Check the suggested movelist I compiled. I mix-matched all the stuff together so we get one character that plays on both entities in harmony.
Quint (クイント, Kuinto?) is Mega Man from the future that was captured and remodeled by Dr. Wily to fight against himself in the present in Mega Man II. His main weapon is Sakugarne, a digging machine that looks like a combination of a pogo-stick and jackhammer.
Contrary to popular belief, Quint is not a Mega Man Killer. He is often mistaken for one because he is an extra Wily stages boss from the Game Boy games like the Mega Man Killers (Enker, Punk and Ballade), and the four appear in the same stage in Mega Man V.
Quint should also be not be mistaken for Rockman Shadow from Rockman and Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousensha, who was created at the same time period as Quint and is similar to him, and uses a weapon similar to Sakugarne. The game is also not considered canon to the mainstream games, while Mega Man II, the game Quint was introduced in, is.
So he should not have any of Rockman Shadow's moves. Sorry to get off topic Rage.
Since it's so early in the project, why not just turn this into an R-Shadow WIP instead of Quint? They do look alike, they both travel through time, and R-Shadow does have more official moves to work from (and the blade is kinda cool). Plus, then this argument will be over.

...So they arnt exactly the same character, they look enough alike and taking moves from Rockman Shadow would be good to give Quint more things to do then just bouncing and making rocks shoot out of the ground.

Well to get technicial, neither is Rockman & Forte to begin with, Inafune even said so. That didn't stop ChAoTiC from incorperating stuff from that game into his Bass.
My stance is that Quint has no real basis as a stand-alone, so why not steal stuff from R-Shadow since they are practically the same? It'll give him some purpose as a character people will want to play as.
So he should not have any of Rockman Shadow's moves. Sorry to get off topic Rage.

I would say use it like a combo. First use Manic i believes hard kick then fallow up by by doing the ching-il but is that too much damage for a hard kick? Or do they even link are punches and kicks into combos? Sorry i dont play mugen and i havent played MVC in years.

I'm here but I'm kinda not. Lifes a lol too crazy for me right now to start back progging and spriting. But I do occasionally pop back in here and there to check on the progress of things. Reprogramming mega bass and proto are all up to laspacho and the team once I get back into the swing of things u can probably expect a separate release/update of my characters. Of course that's kinda hard to say when it will happen but I still might have some more life left in my mugen tanks to pump at least an update to my chars before I officially call it quits.I hear ya. I barely even have time to play mugen these days, let alone sprite. I hope you eventually find time to release some updates though. Your Protoman is my favorite Megaman character and I'm still dying to see that Top Spin update on Megaman. :thumbsup:

As for Nilakantha's sprite, I can see that as a heavy punch/projectile move. Here's what's I'm thinking: He brings back him buster arm and swings it forward (1 hit) and then shoots the buster (another hit).

That not an actually profile, its opinion about how Quint existence, the person is describing Quint's throughout the series. This person states that they don't know whether he lives or dies due to the fact that he isn't in RM10 and that he isn't numbered like a RMK. He just states that he using a sakugarne and mentions nothing about his other capabilities, just that he was funtional like Rockman, but in the future.
So my thing is, has Rockman ever used a Rush Drill in the Rockman series? Has he ever used a Beat Plane in the series? Has ever used a Rush adaptation that involves Beat and Fliptop/Eddie? No. Me and Rage had PM discussion his buster move that is would only be a hyper and would be a timelapse buster due to him not use to using his arm buster.
Oh so then your going to give him one R-Shadow movie but not any others? Is R-Shadow even a cannon character? No. So if your going to add 1 move from one fictional character into quint, why not add the rest. Their both susposed to be mega man from the future right? And they look the same.
But if your still going to say no to that, then you shouldnt have the buster in quint at all.

i like Quint and i like the directions we're going with him but i just cant shake it. WTF! capcom give him time traveling abilities and maybe a buster but he uses a jackhammering pogo stick. o.O# I mean come on. hes grouped with the megaman killers (he's not a MM killer)and this is wat he does o.O# who's f'ing dimwitted idea was that. Cant wait to see the way we render this character. give him the justice he deserves and show why he's surely a bad @$$I agree, he has a lot of potential, and we have some good ideas going here.

Heh, not bad (although, I sure hope Sakugarne's in there, somewhere!lol he's in there. Look at Quints chest thats the top of Sakugarne. The bottom of him is the drill. The foot pegs and the emblem in the center of those are on his drill arm too. The spring one could say are in his legs but its really the tech Quint stole. :P

just realized how stupid i am. im using photoshop at about 25% power. Quint maybe released sooner then i thought cause now im using 100% power. i call myself a professional and such made such a rookie mistake. o.O# im the dumbest smart person.

Yeah. If I mass coloring the mega sprites be for I edit. it will cut down the time spent editing, eliminate coloring , and reduce the time it take to test out the animation. It will cut my work load ten fold. I was dumb for not noticing it sooner.

Don't worry about it. At least you have Photoshop. I'm using MS Paint, and look where I'm at. You will be able to work faster by recoloring the sprites beforehand, though, and that's good.yeah i hear you :)

i'm curious, has anyone thought about a double Q buster hyper? if not two huge beams, several small bursts fired like machine guns then. just a thought.
actualy, here's another idea. he's supposed to be an evil/reprogrammed mega man, right? well, mega man has rush, quint has that... jackhammer/pogo stick thing. mega man has beat, why not give quint reggae (wily's bird. i think that's what he's called)? instead of a beat plane, why not have reggae come in and drop bombs over the stage? sort of like Carpet Bomber with The King (provided someone has actualy seen The King in action). i mean, why not? the coding shouldn't be overly difficult, considering what's been done so far, and the spriting wouldn't take too many frames either.
of course, all else fails, why not have a $%^& load of bats come in and attack? the sprites are already out there, so coding/resizing would be all that's nesecary... although, this sounds more like a good idea for a shade man hyper.

as for adding reggae, again, not too difficult to sprite. the bombs only need be one sprite, quint, just modify one of his current animations to show him pointing a finger, reggae himself would be the time eater, but 3 to 4 frames is all that's needed, since they can be looped/repeated, and explosion sprites AND sound effects, are a dime a dozen. of course, could just use wily instead, and have him drop the bombs from his ship. not hard at all to add. take his UFO sprites from MM7, edit them to have an open bottom, if they don't already, and then just "hi res" them.

I think you should stick with the first row only. You use all the frames, then make it backward.
Because the second row is kinda strange. If you look at the last kick (right) on the first row and then the first kick on the second row (left) you will see that they doesn't connects.
Plus, for such kind of kick (he is almost stomping at the enemy stomach, which is cool) he doesn't needs to spin at the end.

When in doubt, throw it into Fighter factory and animate it, see if it's working.I have no problem animating. I use fireworks by the way. I just had no real life study for that kick. I didn it all based on my body movements and science of motion. wish I had a life study. I don't do that style so I don't count my self as a go od source.

if you need to study the move, check out the fighting characters that perform it. some are: elena from 3rd strike, christy and eddy from tekken 6, and i'm not sure if they perform it, but richard meyer and soiree meira from KOF 2006 are both capo characters, but soiree uses his own version of it.
for that matter, why not just download elena for mugen, study her sprites, and mold quint's to match?

Great idea, but the stand guard would seem to also cover low attacks. ???well lets just say that the shield is strongest around his hands. Its look big bad and like it can protect all but its just a bluff. ;)

That could be a level 3 hyper idea, it could do a bit more damage than a level 1, but unblockable since it'd be like a counter move.

But the block has one logical problem:
Take a look at the shield. It covers all the body. So, he would be able to standing guard attacks which should be blocked crouched and vice-versa.

That the total block could be a little imbalancing. But with a reduced defense I think it works out balanced again, especially since I do like the concept of the shield.then why you vote keep? The third option is the one the with total block with coding balancing. I hope i didnt confuse anyone with that explanation of that poll.

How to people feel about it? I had some people (Not one person) question me about the block. as it stands it would fuction as a regular block. So if you hit Quint legs in the standing block even though the shied covers his entire body he'll still take damage. it looks as if it would block standing and crouching attacks. And thats the issues people have with the block.
The olny options i see;
1 - is to leave it as is.
2 - Change it.
3 - code it so the standing covers standing and crouching. Counter this by decreasing Quints defense or lower his health.
it looks like the energy flash effect from firing the weapon on the leg to me. if so then dang sure a cool neat idea Rage. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:yeah..... energy flash. That what I did. :-SS

How to people feel about it? I had some people (Not one person) question me about the block. as it stands it would fuction as a regular block. So if you hit Quint legs in the standing block even though the shied covers his entire body he'll still take damage. it looks as if it would block standing and crouching attacks. And thats the issues people have with the block.
The olny options i see;
1 - is to leave it as is.
2 - Change it.
3 - code it so the standing covers standing and crouching. Counter this by decreasing Quints defense or lower his health.
Pyron has a similar block - I wanna say that on standing he just has the leg portion of the anim cut off.ill look into that when i get back to the block.

Some characters have a assistants, it's not required. Quint, Tenguman, Metalman, and Gutsman have a helper thus far to my knowledge. Servbot being with Quint is part of his storyline.Alrighty. Thanks for answering my inquiry

Coding the basics are easy, just time consuming. Spiriting is harder to do. I have also been working n this for a few weeks.Well, that explains a lot.

Yeah I agree about the sprites, Rage is really improvingI wish this was true but its just me not being lazy anymore. I respect mugen/ spiriting for the engine. When I first started I thought it was some bs crappy stuff that didn't require any real work. I figured you could cheat your way through it. Now I know that that's not the case. Its art and like any form of set it deserves respect. I now work to my fullest ability. I was really arrogant when I first joined the mugen community. But I've been humbled.

He is only two Pixel taller then Rock. It looks taller due to him flouting. (But will double check.) i will make sure to keep a eye on the height since he is a flouting character.

Just one advice, though.
You may want to use for TimeMan's clock bells the ones, that that clock midboss from Kirby Advance has. It just has the perfect shading there. Other then that, it looks good.

Life Hates the Princess. After Rage had Rages' heart broken life continued to Pee on thou. Two laptops went down on Rage and 4 HDD went out on Rage. All within a day. Yet Rage rises. Im still waiting to fix my main computer and my back up computer is completely dead. But i Still manage to work fore i want to see the project to completion. Here i present the Emp Pulse (Hyper). If you remember its can only be done while blocking. As such it is a counter to the Shield Breaker created byAwesome, I can't wait until Quint is finished. Question: is this for a soild special move or a hyper? If a solid special, I can see me using this very strategic in on the fly gameplay as a cool defensive move and even can use for a trap situation. almost same as a hyper too but really for defense move for P2 coming in from airborne for an attack on me. If get someone in a corner be a great move to use. :thumbsup:
Creation History.
Its is said according to the Quint wip thread that the project started in may of 2010 but history goes back farther. The stance of quints was found in the IMT forum among a bunch of random sprites. It was not created by those who started the wip of Quint. When found Quint stood out from the rest. Cant really say tho. there where many sprites in the tread but for so reason Quint called to everyone. Then it was mentioned that he should be a wip. After going over Quints history it was an unified feeling that the Robot masters project needed a joke character. Seeing as Quint is considered one of the easiest Mega Man bosses. This would lead to a debate upon who would do it.
The is where Quint would see the light of day. It was thought at first the sprite was open source but to the forums dismay It was discovered the sprites (stance) belong to Chaotic. Chaotic is a very cool person would surly grant them the permission to turn the sprites into a full character. So what was the problem then? Chaotic hadn't been heard from in a couple of months. With no way to contact choatic the forum members where stopped in there tracks. It would seem that is may be the end for Quint b4 it even started.
With that time passed but one some incredible happened? Laspacho leader of the RMM project Contacted one of the members that seemed very passionate about creating Quint. Its was told to Rage that permission from Chaotic was granted. With this Rage started the wip thread. Now may 2010 the members Rage, Manic, Lady Eskimo, UltraRoboninja, and Nilakantha set forth to bring Quint to Mugen.
While the Five discussed the character story and move set it was one thing that was apparent. Doing the time of the initial to that point every ones feeling had changed about the character. They want to make a serious character. The joke idea was left behind.
The team worked hard in unisense. completing one set after another. They had a good pace set for them but trouble appeared in the shadows.

The Sakugarne Adaptor is very reminiscent of Tron Bonne's Drill attack. Might I throw out the idea that he charges the enemy, hits them into the wall, then turns on the drill does a multihit with them pinned against it?I meant for the adapter to look like Tron. But when I pieced this together I didn't realize it resembled that much. Is this bad? Also to adapter is capable of more then a rush. That big drill is part of it too.
